A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

I Sam. 1:27,28 May we be in awe of what Hannah has done and worship Yahweh for who He is and what He has done in our lives. Samuel was the greatest prophet Israel has known. He stood as a priest before the Lord all the days of his life. To God be all the glory.

Praise God for the faithfulness of Hannah, and her desire to raise a man of God. Mothers, let Hannah's example inspire you.

I Sam. 18:7 This thing greatly distressed Saul that the women only ascribed thousands to him and ten thousand to David. When we are envious of the success of others, then we are not walking in the wisdom that comes from above. For God is love, and we delight in helping others, as well as being glad when they succeed. David behaved himself wisely and because of that, he was blessed. Let us give thanks for the fear of the Lord leads us to wisdom. Fear the Lord as David did, and that leaves no one else to fear.
#And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house and David played with his hand, as at other times, and there was a javelin in Saul's hand. I Sam. 18:10 We can ask the question does mental illness come from God? I struggle with this question because it said that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul. We know that God does not tempt us with evil. So why is King Saul being afflicted with this evil spirit? I believe because Saul is rejected as being king because of his rebellion, and God has allowed this evil spirit to overcome him. The Lord shows mercy to him by allowing David, the future king, to comfort him by playing the harp with his hands. This tells us that music therapy is a great way to help those who are struggling with mental illness. We need to help people to know that the right kind of music therapy is what is needed. It takes skillful hands and an obedient heart to help people overcome the stress of their mental illness.
#Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. James 2:18 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead too. Therefore, have faith in God and produce works worthy of repentance.

James 2:23 Remember the father of our faith Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. God still saves us on the basis of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ death, burial, and resurrection.
#If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: But if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, and are convicted of the law as transgressors. James 2:8,9 Let love be without partiality, for we must love all people the same, for our God loves us more than we could ever know, so we must show that same love one toward another.
#My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. James 2:1 We must treat the rich and poor brethren the same, for our God is not a respecter of persons. Therefore, let the poor man rejoice in that he has been exalted in the Lord. Let the rich rejoice that he has been humbled.
#Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27 That is the spirit of Thanksgiving that we remember the fatherless and the widows in their time of affliction and drop by to say thanks God loves you!
