Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #For their riches were more than that they might dwell together and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle. Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir; Esau is Edom. Gen. 36:7,8

Jacob and Esau could not dwell together because of much cattle, as the Lord had blessed them greatly, so Esau dwelt in mount Seir to keep the peace in the family. We can learn a lot from Esau and Jacob how they were able to overcome their differences and live at peace with one another.

  • #The way the Church treats the divorced and mentally ill is appalling As no one calls or checks on them. It is like they never existed. What a shame because God is love and if you claim to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, then you must love also. Jesus said a new commandment give I unto you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you. Your status in life should not matter as to whether you will be loved. Now as Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount, He said blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. May we make peace for the divorced and mentally ill in the Church is my prayer.

  • #And Esau said I have enough, my brother keep that thou hast unto thyself. And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God and thou wast pleased with me. Gen. 33:9.10

Jacob wants to show kindness to Esau after all that has past, and God blesses him to do so. This is the type of brotherly love that God the Father wants us to show one to the other. Jacob has repented of his deception and is walking in love toward his brother. This is what Jesus said a new commandment give I unto thee, that you love one another as I have loved thee. This is how when you see your brother in need, then give him what he needs.

  • #And he said, let me go, for the day breaks and he said, I will not let thee go except thou bless me. And he said unto him, what is thy name? and he said, Jacob. And he said thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men and hast prevailed. Gen. 32:26-28

Jacob has prevailed wrestling with the angel of God and now his name is Israel, for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men. May we learn from this example as we are facing situations in our lives that require us to wrestle with God. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives can we prevail in life. Thank God for the tenacity of Israel, and may it be ours is my prayer.

  • #And Laban said to Jacob, behold this heap and behold this pillar, which I have cast between me and thee; This heap be witness and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee and thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm. The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father judge between us. And Jacob swears by the fear of his father Isaac. Gen. 31:51-53

Jacob learns his valuable lesson with uncle Laban that God the Father had intended him to learn and repents of the deception he has done, yet he is not aware of what Rachel has stolen. Those images would be the reason Rachel would die in childbirth to Benjamin. What we see is that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is a just God visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third generation and having mercy on those that obey His commandments. We must keep the commandment of God too if we want the blessings of the Lord in our lives. Never cheat or deceive people, but pay a fair wage.  As the United States swears in the 45th President, our prayers are with him that he will keep the commandments of Jehovah God and the blessings will flow upon the American people.

  • #Separation from your spouse and the issues that cause in the marriage. The Bible does allow for husband and wife to separate rather than Divorce, in order to keep peace in the marriage. Yet this is a major stumbling for adultery in the marriage. It must be done prayerfully and carefully, in order to keep the relationship holy. God hates Divorce and Jesus condemned it in Matt. 19 when He said from the beginning it was not so. Yet God suffered Moses to write a bill of Divorcement because of the hardness of your hearts. What should couples do while separated? Well, some form of counseling would be appropriate. When couples are hopelessly deadlocked in dispute, then Divorce may be the only option in order to move on in life. Remaining celibate should be the goal, but once again, it is better to marry than to burn in lust.

  • #And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her and opened her womb. And she conceived and bare a son and said, God hath taken away my reproach: And she called his name Joseph and said, The LORD shall add to me another son. Gen. 30:22-24

God winked at all of this polygamy then, but he has commanded every man to have his own wife, and every woman to have her own husband. For there is coming a day when he will judge the world by that one man Christ Jesus. So repent everyone and be baptized so that a time of refreshing shall come upon you. Live joyfully with the wife of thy youth and let her breast satisfy thee at all times. Let the wife render due to benevolence to her husband and let the husband render due to benevolence to his wife. Only come apart for a season so that ye can pray, then come back together, least the devil tempt you to sin,

  • #And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah and the name of the younger was Rachael. Leah was tender-eyed, but Rachel was beautiful and well-favored. And Jacob loved Rachael and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. Gen. 29:16-18

The prankster things that Jacob did to get the birthright and blessing from his brother will come back to haunt him with his uncle Laban. Be not deceived for God is not mocked, what so ever a man sows, that shall he also reap. If you sow deception, then you will reap deception. That is the lesson that Jacob is to learn, as uncle Laban wanted to get both daughters married, and knew that Jacob would not have married Leah, so Rachel he used to deceive him into thinking that seven years working for him he could marry Rachel. Well, it turned out he would marry Leah first and then have to work another seven years, fourteen all together to marry Rachel. This story gives poetic justice to the way Jacob had treated his brother. We learn that what we do to others will come back to us, good or bad. So make sure that you are sowing good seeds, so when there is time for a harvest, you will be happy to reap what you have sowed.

  • #And Isaac's servants dug in the valley and found there a well of springing water. Gen. 26:19

Abimelech said unto Isaac, go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. We are more than the wicked when God is on our side. Always give glory to God for making us the head and not the tail. So walk in the victory of Jesus today in all of your relationships.

  • #How does God look at interracial marriages? We see that after Sarah died, Abraham married an Ethiopian woman, by the name of Keturah. So it is permissible in scripture as long as the two are equally yoked together. Since 1968 these marriages have been under attack in America, and still, it is not popular to be married to someone outside of your racial background. Love is the common denominator and as long as there is love in the marriage, it will never fail. Love believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things, for love never fails. So as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend, let us celebrate the diversity that we have in America, for the Dream is starting to come true.
