A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #How does God look at interracial marriages? We see that after Sarah died, Abraham married an Ethiopian woman, by the name of Keturah. So it is permissible in scripture as long as the two are equally yoked together. Since 1968 these marriages have been under attack in America, and still, it is not popular to be married to someone outside of your racial background. Love is the common denominator and as long as there is love in the marriage, it will never fail. Love believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things, for love never fails. So as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday weekend, let us celebrate the diversity that we have in America, for the Dream is starting to come true.

  • #And he said, blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren. And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things, Genesis 24:27,28

Eleazer is a type of the Holy Spirit and Rebekah is a representative of the 'Church. Isaac is a type of Christ as the bridegroom of the Church and the Holy Spirit is making her ready, as a chaste virgin without spot or blemish. So when you read this story this is how a true marriage is made in heaven by God the Father, for His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • #The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house and from the land of my kindred and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, unto thy seed will I give this land, he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. Gen. 24:7

Abraham wanted to be sure that Isaac would be equally yoked together with his wife, so he had Eleazer, to promise he would get a wife from his kindred. Such faith was honored again by Jehovah and Rebekah was selected to be the wife of Isaac. God works in mysterious ways and the only way to please God is to walk by faith. So it is that Abraham pleased God and was rewarded for his great faith. There are two types of faith mentioned in the: Bible: little faith and great faith. Abraham had great faith and was able to accomplish great things for the Lord. May we be inspired by his example and walk by faith, for without faith, it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6

  • #Abraham fulfilled his marital duties to Sarah and mourned for her when she died at 127 years old. God blessed their marriage and it was until death did they part. Abraham taught us how to trust God even when it did not make sense and God rewarded his faith. Now the last act of faith was to find a burial place for his beloved wife. God rewarded his faith again by providing  Macpelland for her last resting place. What a great man of God to see that his beloved wife would have a sacred burial place. May God use this example of love to inspire more couples to fulfill their marital vows till death do we part Amen!

  • #That in blessing I will bless thee and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and  as the sand which is on the seashore and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Gen. 22:17,18

Abraham is the father of faith and a friend of God. It was his obedience to the will of God for his life that gave him that distinction. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Thus it was that childlike faith that followed Abraham everywhere he pitched his tent. We too can be a blessing to others when we move by faith in God. Jehovah will direct our pathway as long as we acknowledge Him in every area of our lives. When we walk by faith we will be pleasing to God and He will see that we are a blessing to others around us.

  • #And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father and said my father and he said, Here am I, my son, And he said behold the fire and the wood but where is the Lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. Gen.22:7,8

Isaac is a lad and able to speak for himself, which is a picture of Jesus Christ and God did not spare His own Son but delivered Him on the cross for all as our Jehovah Jireh. Receive Him today as your Savior and He will make a way for you today, Do not put it off for tomorrow is not sure. Now is the day of salvation. Abraham believed God would resurrect Isaac and he was obedient. God the Father did resurrect Jesus the third day because Jesus was obedient, We must obey for there is no way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey. I pray you will accept Him today and you will be saved.

  • #And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said and the LORD did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. Gen. 21:1,2

God called the boy Isaac, which meant laughter for God caused Sarah to laugh in her old age. I don't know what you are doing in your life, but God will make a way when there seems to be no way. Just trust Him to do what He has promised He would do in your life.God can bring laughter when you may want to cry. There are tears of joy for what Jesus is doing, just believe God and give Him the glory in your life.

  • #So Abraham prayed unto God and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his maidservants and they bare children. For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife. Gen. 20:17,18

We see how the sin of Abraham calling Sarah his wife his sister, had caused great pain in the household of Abimelech and God did not remove it until Abraham prayed for restoration. Marriage is holy and the bed undefiled and all adulterers and fornicators will be judged. We must make sure that all of our relationships are holy before a holy God.

  • #Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven, and He overthrew those cities and all the plain and all the inhabitants of the cities and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt. Gen. 19:24-26

We remember what Jesus said when He told us to remember Lot's wife Luke 17:32 as she looked back and became a pillar of salt. May we do not look back at the past year, but forward to what God is going to do to us, and to us to glorify His name. Just Lot was saved because he kept going forward by faith and that is what we must do to be successful in 2017.

  • #But the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house to them and shut the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. Gen. 19:10,11

The angels were sent by God to confirm the wickedness of Sodom, and it was just as wicked as heaven reported. God had to command the angels to smite the men with blindness so they could not find the door to harm Lot. What a tragedy that both old and young were deluded with promiscuity. God has warned future generations that live as they did in Sodom, that the same destruction would come upon them. We must warn our loved ones to repent now while there is time, before the judgment of God will fall on the wicked. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thine house.
