A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Go, tell Jeroboam, thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people and made thee prince over my people Israel, and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, who kept my commandments and who followed me with all his heart, to do what was right in mine eyes, but has done evil above all that were before thee, for thou hast gone and made other gods and molten images, to provoke me to anger and hast cast me behind thy back. I Kings 14:7,8,9

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam and will cut off that which pisseth against the wall and him that is shut up and left in  Israel and take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam as a man takes away dung till it is all gone. Jehovah shall make him reap what he has sowed. Him that dies the dogs shall eat and him that dies in the field the fowls of the air shall eat, for Jehovah has spoken it.

  • #After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him and he became priests of the high places. I Kings 13:33

And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off and destroy it  from off the face of the earth. Jehovah would not allow this idolatry to continue in Israel. The man of God had warned him, and he failed to take heed. God is not mocked, be not deceived, for a man shall reap what so ever he sows. Our God is a consuming fire, therefore fear him and keep His commandments is the warning all throughout scripture. Those nations that forget God shall be cast into hell.

  • #For it shalt was said to me by the word of the LORD, thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest. He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him. I Kings 13:17,18

The false prophet lied to the man of God and caused him to stumble. Such that he ate and drank water, which Jehovah had told him not to do. Then a lion killed him but did not eat his carcass. We must be careful who we listen to. Test the spirits to see if they be of God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world to deceive many. Test the spirits by the spirit to know if the man is really a prophet of God. For Satan is as a roaring lion, going about seeking whom he may devour. Resist the devil, and he will flee from thee. And a prophet laid his carcass in his own grave and they mourned over him saying Alas, my brother! Thus it was a noble thing that he did to the man of God. If you see your brother caught in a sin, then pray for him that he does not commit the sin unto death. You who is spiritual, but considers yourselves, lest ye be tempted. For there is a sin, which does not lead to death.

  • #And behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD, behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name and upon thee shall he offer the priest of the high places that burn incense upon thee and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. I Kings 13:1,2

The promise of Josiah being born, by the man of God, gives hope to Israel, for Josiah would be a righteous king to the house of David. Josiah would take the throne at the age of eight years old. This would be the new beginning for the house of David, and all the wickedness of Jeroboam would be burnt up in men's bones. This was an amazing prophecy that would come to pass. Blessed is the nation whose God is Jehovah. The blessing of a child being born is a wonderful thing to the family of God. Just as my grandson Emmett being born is a blessing too. Give praises to Jehovah God for being the just God who rewards righteousness to those who keep His commandments.

  • #Then Jeroboam said in his heart, now shall the kingdom return to the house of David. I Kings 12:26

Jeroboam was a wicked king and made the priest, not of the tribe of Levi, and made the people sin ignoring the wisdom of the elderly people. He was afraid that the people would kill him, and return the kingdom to Rehoboam king of Judah. So he made calves of gold and said this be the gods which lead thee up from Egypt. He set one in Bethel and the other in Dan. And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one even to Dan. This is a lesson to learn here, that righteousness exalts a people, but sin brings the people down. This downward spiral would continue until the people would return to the living God Jehovah.

  • #Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant's sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes: But I will take the kingdom out of his son's hand and will give it unto thee, even ten tribes. I Kings 11:34,35

Jeroboam would become the king of the ten northern tribes until the death of Solomon, and then Rehoboam would reign over Israel after the death of Solomon. And the time Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel was forty years. And Solomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father.

  • #Wherefore the LORD said unto Solomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.  I Kings 11:11

Jehovah will rend the kingdom, but will not do it in thy days for David thy father's sake but will rend it out of thy son. Honor thy father and thy mother all the days of thy life and it will be well with thee. Solomon will receive mercy because of this, even though he broke the commandments of God and His statutes. Nevertheless, Jehovah was angry with Solomon because he did not keep the commandments after God appeared unto him twice. This tells us how important it is that we keep the commandments of God. So God stirred up the enemies of Solomon because of his disobedience. When a man's ways are right with the Lord, his enemies will be at peace with him. So if you want peace, then obey the commandments of God.

  • #But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites; And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines and his wives turned away his heart. I Kings 11:1,3

And it came to pass when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God as was the heart of David his father. We say, well what about David and Bathsheba, that was a one-time event that never happened again, and David repented of that sin, never to repeat it again. Solomon was the wisest king to ever live, but he allowed his prosperity to destroy his devotion to Jehovah his God and loved many women, who turned his heart away from God. We can learn much from Solomon by reading the proverbs, yet the greatest lesson is to keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. So Solomon made images to the gods of his wives and it greatly displeased the Lord. So Jehovah told Solomon He would rend the kingdom from him during the life of his son. So we see Solomon had the dubious name of being the wisest king and the most foolish king as well. The prosperity of the fool will destroy him, and the love of money is the root of all evil. Therefore, be content with thy wages and live joyfully with the wife of thy youth. Keep one wife and life will be better for thee.

  • #Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which continually stand before thee and that hear thy wisdom. I Kings 10:8

Sheba had some encouraging words for Solomon as she departed, saying happy are thy men and thy servants that stand to hear thy wisdom daily. Truly God had appointed you to do justice and judgment in the kingdom. Happy is Jehovah who delights in thee. And she gave the king a hundred talents of gold and spices very great store, along with precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which queen Sheba gave to king Solomon. And king Solomon gave unto queen Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. Moreover, the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with the best gold. What a blessing queen Sheba was to Solomon. So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

  • #And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions. I Kings 10:1

The Queen of Sheba came to Solomon because she heard of his fame, and she asked questions of all that was in her heart. Solomon did not disappoint, for he answered all her questions. She had come with a great train, and she left saying it was a true report that I heard in mine own land of the acts of thy wisdom. Solomon proved he was the wisest king to ever live. His prosperity exceedeth the fame which she heard of. The bible said if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.
