Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and went softly. I Kings 21:27

Jehovah God took note of the penance of Ahab and the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but in his son's days will I bring evil upon his house. How many neighbors have been destroyed by trespassing upon their things? But Ahab humbleth himself under the mighty hand of Jehovah and found mercy. We will see Naboth in heaven and I am sure that he would have forgiven Ahab for the wicked lies that Jezebel told about him. Blessed is the man that endures temptation for when he is tried, he will receive the crown of life. Naboth and his family are blessed because he kept the commandments of God and loved not his life unto death.

  • #But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. I Kings 21:25

Jehovah God will punish those who trespass against their neighbors. Taking what belongs to thine neighbor is a violation of the Ten Commandments. This is the problem that Jezebel stirred Ahab to do. King Ahab is just as guilty because he goes along with all the lies that Jezebel tells against Naboth. Jesus said the greatest commandments are to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, mind, and strength. The second is like unto it, that thy love thy neighbor as thyself. If we would do this then much of the violence in our society could be done away with.

  • #And the men of his city, even the elders, and nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. They proclaimed a fast and set Naboth on high among the people. I Kings 21:11,12

There came in two men, children of Belial and sat before him, and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city and stoned him with stones, that he died. And it came to pass when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. This thing angered Jehovah God. And Ahab said unto Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered I have found thee: because I have sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. Behold, I will bring evil upon thee and will take away thy posterity and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall and him that is shut up and left in Israel. And of Jezebel also spoke the LORD, saying the dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall in Jezreel. Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat. This was the punishment unto Ahab for listening to his wife Jezebel to do evil in Israel unto Naboth.

  • #And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise and eat bread and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. I Kings 21:7

Wicked Jezebel, Ahab's wife writes letters to give to the elders of the city falsely accusing Naboth. Ahab is such a weak leader that he goes along with the lies against Naboth. whatsoever a man sows, that shall he reap and that goes for a woman also. Ahab will regret that he harkened to his wife, rather than obeyed the commandments of God.

  • #And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it, or if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. And Naboth said to Ahab, the LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee. I Kings 21:2,3

Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. So Ahab wanted this property, but it was against the law for Naboth to give away his father's inheritance. So this is a crisis of faith for Naboth, for he knew that the king would be wroth for him to refuse to give away the vineyard. Yet Naboth remains steadfast in his faith. Ahab would have been fine with his refusal were it not for his wicked wife Jezebel. Thus, this would lead to the downfall of the king and the queen. For God is not mocked what so ever a man sows that shall he also reap. Thou shalt not covet is the tenth commandment and Ahab breaks it to his ruin. Keep the commandments of God for there is the promise of life eternal in doing so, for they are not burdensome.

  • #So the prophet departed and waited for the king by the way and disguised himself with ashes upon his face. And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle and behold, a man turned aside and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver. I Kings 20:38,39

Ahab failed to obey the man of God, Thus saith the LORD because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life and thy people for his people. Whom the Jehovah appoints for death shall indeed die, as the man of God said when he removed the ashes from his face. This was a warning to the king that he must obey the commands of Jehovah God no matter what they are. The people of Israel would suffer because of the king's disobedience. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Pray today for America for the leaders to follow the righteous commands of Jehovah, for His commands are not burdensome. Only then will this nation live out the true meaning of it's calling. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for they shall prosper who do so.

  • #And there came a man of God and spake unto the king of Israel and said, Thus saith the LORD, because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand and ye will know that I am the LORD. I Kings 20:28

And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was that in the seventh day the battle was joined and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians a hundred thousand footmen in one day. Today is the 4th of July, blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Give God the glory for America today, for we stand with Israel and Jehovah God for this great victory. Give God the glory in the hills and in the valleys, for He alone is Lord.

  • #And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. I Kings 20:13

The Syrians had come against the Israelites and demanded their wives, their silver, and their gold. but the prophet of God told the king not to do it. And Ahab said to whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, who shall order the battle? And he answered Thou. And the king of Israel went out and smote the horses and chariots and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter. And the prophet came to the king of Israel and said to him, Go, strengthen thyself and mark and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee. Jehovah God is going to teach the Syrians that He is God of the hills and the valleys. Trust him today, for you are on top of the hill, but tomorrow you will need Him to be God over your valley experiences in life. The Bible does not tell us who this prophet was and the reason is so that God will get all the glory for what He is going to do. God will not share His glory. So be careful to give God all the glory while you are on top of the hill and in the valley, for He is God of both. For God is Lord when you are on top of the hill and when you are in the valley. Little is much when you put it in the Master's hand and trust Him totally for the victory. Life is filled with many valley experiences, so it is important to trust Him totally while you are on top of the hill and be ready when the valley comes so you will trust Him more.

  • #So he departed thence and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yokes of oxen before him and he with the twelfth and Elijah passed by him and cast his mantle upon him. I Kings 19:19

So Elisha asks to kiss his father and mother and then I will follow thee. And he returned back from him and took a yoke of oxen and slew them, boiled their flesh and gave to the people and they did eat. Then he arose and went after Elijah and ministered unto him. What a blessing it was to Elijah to have such a committed servant and follower in Elisha to want to kiss his father and mother and throw a feast before leaving for the ministry. We see he kept the fifth commandment in thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother all the days of thy life. We see the humility of Elisha and what it takes to be a devoted follower and servant. Oh that we had more Elisha's in the ministry today, how well the Church would be for it. As the scripture says to humble thyself under the mighty hand of God and in due time, He will exalt thee.

  • #And the LORD said unto him, Go return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room. I Kings 19:15,16

So Jehovah God tells Elijah what to do and to anoint Elisha to be the prophet in thy room. This tells us that the key to overcoming depression can be as simple as having a companion to talk with along the way. For that is what Elijah needed. It shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have bowed unto Baal and every mouth which hath not kissed him. Jehovah is faithful and worthy of all our praises.
