Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of the city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught and the ground barren. And he said bring me a new cruse and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. And he went forth unto the spring of the waters and cast the salt in there and said, thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake. II Kings 2:19-22

This was the first great work of Elisha that he performed after Elijah had been caught up into heaven in the chariot of fire. Jehovah Rapha healed the waters according to the words of Elisha. It was the faith of Elisha that caused the hand of Jehovah to move upon these waters and now there is no more death or barren land to this day. We can have the same blessing in our lives if we will move by faith as Elisha did and trust God to do a new work in our lives. Jesus said if we had the faith of a mustard seed, then we could say to this mountain be cast into the sea and it would be so. Have faith in God no matter what obstacles you find yourself facing in life now. The men were all thankful that God did not cast Elisha upon some mountain, or in some valley, for Elisha tarried at Jericho, but he did the will of God in this moment of faith. By Elisha asking for a new cruse, he was telling the people that Jehovah God is about to do a new work in the lives of the people by sanctifying this water from death and barrenness. God answered his prayer of faith. We have to allow the power of the Holy Spirit to do the sanctifying work in our lives to revive us from spiritual death. Then we will have the same blessing that this land now has. May the Lord bless all those who will ask in faith believing that God will revive their lives today. For when Jehovah God heals a person He heals them spiritually, then physically. The salt represents the purifying power of the Holy Spirit to cleanse and sanctify our inner man. The men did what Elisha asked and the healing power of Jehovah was seen because they walked by faith. Faith is what moves Jehovah God to move on our behalf.

  • #And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire and parted them both asunder and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more and he took hold of his own clothes and rent them in two pieces. II Kings 2:11,12

Elisha was blessed to see Elijah caught up into heaven in the chariot of fire and horsemen thereof. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and went back and stood on the bank of the Jordan; And he took the mantle and smote the waters and said, Where is the LORD of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither and Elisha went over. So now the double portion of Elijah's spirit has been given to Elisha. The sons of the prophets which were in view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him and bowed themselves to the ground before him. This is the ultimate respect that they are paying to Elisha. We see how that Jehovah God blessed Elisha because of his humility and his faithfulness to serve in the ministry. If you are going to be blessed by God, then you will have to be faithful to serve God as well in every way that He commands. Many want the blessings of a double portion, but they do not want to make the sacrifice that it requires. Elisha walked with Elijah until he was caught up into heaven in the chariot of fire. Thus he fulfilled the commandment and received the double portion of Elijah's spirit. Next time you are pushed to the maximum do not cry out but praise God. We believe that God is not done with Elijah and consider him to be one of the witnesses that God will use in the Book of Revelation chapter eleven. How blessed it is to be used of God for His glory.

  • #And Elijah took his mantle and wrapped it together and smote the waters and they were divided hither and thither so that they two went over on dry ground. And it came to pass when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee before I am taken away from thee. And Elisha said I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. II Kings 2:8,9

Elijah was troubled by the request of Elisha and said you have asked a hard thing, nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be done unto thee, but if not, it shall not be so. What a noble thing for Elisha to ask for a double portion of Elijah's spirit. Jehovah God is high, but He looks low for those who are humble among us. This was an honorable request, for Elijah was a man of valor and well respected as a great man of God. For Elisha to ask this he is paying the ultimate compliment to Elijah. Humble thyself under the mighty hand of God and in due season thou shalt be exalted. Elisha is showing his humility by the request that he makes. God is going to move in a mighty way in the life of Elisha as he will be left to carry on the work of Elijah when he is taken to heaven. Like a son in the ministry, Elisha has been following Elijah faithfully and will be rewarded for doing so. This is a great testament to those aspiring for leadership to aspire as Elisha has done. He could have asked anything of Elijah, but instead, he asked for a double portion of his spirit. May God bless all those in the ministry with such humility to walk before God with this spirit of humility.

  • #And it came to pass when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, as the LORD liveth and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel. And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head today? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold your peace. II Kings 2:1-3

Jehovah God is about to take the master of Elisha to heaven. Elijah, therefore, bids Elisha to not leave him. What a father-son relationship Elisha has with Elijah and this will be missed. I remember when the Lord called my father home to glory, I missed him and wished I could have walked with him before the Lord called him home. I was able to have him stay in our home the night before he went to his earthly home. He was telling me about my brother and all that he said came to pass. What a blessing to have a man of God in the home and I pray that I can carry the work that he committed to me. He told me to take care of my mother, as she was about to come down with Alzheimer's. I kept her for ten months until my older sister took over the work. Our mother now has full blown Alzheimer's disease and I see why my father was so concerned about her before he passed on to glory. The family is so important in the work of God in the ministry. This is what Elijah was to Elisha a father figure who helped him along the way and Elisha was going to miss him greatly. We must cherish the time that we have with our earthly father because we never know when our Heavenly Father will call him home. I pray that I can leave a legacy for my children that my father left for me in the ministry. This Blog is part of that so my children can read it and cherish it after I am gone. Kiss your father and tell him how much you love him, for you never know when he will be taken from you. So keep the peace in the family as Elisha commanded. It has been a real challenge for us with the care of our mother, as she required 24 hours around the clock care. My two sisters alternate taking care of her and I try to support them as much as I can. Taking care of an Alzheimer's person requires a lot of patience and care. It is so important to keep the peace in the family.

  • #Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab. And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria and was sick and he sent messengers and said unto them, Go enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease. But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say unto them, is it not because there is not a God of Israel, that ye enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? Now therefore thus saith the LORD, thou shalt come down from that bed on which thou art went up, but shall surely die. And Elijah departed. II Kings 1:1-4

Ahaziah is being punished for his idolatry and that he is enquiring of Baalzebub for his healing. Jehovah God is a jealous God and has pronounced the judgment through Elijah that will come upon Ahaziah. He failed to repent of his wickedness, and therefore he shall die from the disease that has afflicted him. This is a lesson to us that only in the name of Jehovah Rapha is there healing. So repent of your serving Baalzebub and follow the whole heatedly advice of the word of God. Elijah demonstrated that he was a man of God by calling fire to come down from heaven to devour the captains and their men of fifty. So thus did the word of God fall upon Ahaziah that he died.

  • #And Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah and reigned two years over Israel. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel sin. For he served Baal and worshiped him and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done. I Kings 22:51,52,53

Jehovah God is angry with Ahaziah and will bring the judgment that he promised would come when Ahab died. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. When the wicked are in authority the righteous cry to the Lord and He hears their cry. Only the Lord can save America from impending judgment, as we are living in the days of Noah and Lot. Every imagination of the people was evil continually. We need a revival in the family of God. As Abraham interceded for Lot for ten righteous people, but sadly there was only one. Judgment fell on Sodom because of this. We will see hail and brimstone come down from heaven again if the people of God do not repent.

  • #So the king died and was brought to Samaria and they buried the king in Samaria. And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria and the dogs licked up his blood and they washed his armor; according to the word of the LORD which he spake. I Kings 22:37,38
Jehovah God is fulfilling His word, as the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, so did the dogs lick king Ahab's blood for the evil which he did unto Naboth. Now the rest of what he did are written in the chronicles of the kings of Israel. Be not deceived God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. Gal. 6:7 So the lesson is clear to do what is right in the sight of the Lord God, and you will reap a harvest of good. Ahab sold himself to do evil and he reaped the whirlwind of the evil which he did. So enjoy the dog days of summer and do good to the Lord. He will bless your posterity. Love thy neighbor, do not steal from him or covet anything that he has. Keep the commandments of God and you will be blessed.

  • #And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and went softly. I Kings 21:27

Jehovah God took note of the penance of Ahab and the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but in his son's days will I bring evil upon his house. How many neighbors have been destroyed by trespassing upon their things? But Ahab humbleth himself under the mighty hand of Jehovah and found mercy. We will see Naboth in heaven and I am sure that he would have forgiven Ahab for the wicked lies that Jezebel told about him. Blessed is the man that endures temptation for when he is tried, he will receive the crown of life. Naboth and his family are blessed because he kept the commandments of God and loved not his life unto death.

  • #But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. I Kings 21:25

Jehovah God will punish those who trespass against their neighbors. Taking what belongs to thine neighbor is a violation of the Ten Commandments. This is the problem that Jezebel stirred Ahab to do. King Ahab is just as guilty because he goes along with all the lies that Jezebel tells against Naboth. Jesus said the greatest commandments are to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, mind, and strength. The second is like unto it, that thy love thy neighbor as thyself. If we would do this then much of the violence in our society could be done away with.

  • #And the men of his city, even the elders, and nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. They proclaimed a fast and set Naboth on high among the people. I Kings 21:11,12

There came in two men, children of Belial and sat before him, and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city and stoned him with stones, that he died. And it came to pass when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. This thing angered Jehovah God. And Ahab said unto Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered I have found thee: because I have sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. Behold, I will bring evil upon thee and will take away thy posterity and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall and him that is shut up and left in Israel. And of Jezebel also spoke the LORD, saying the dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall in Jezreel. Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat. This was the punishment unto Ahab for listening to his wife Jezebel to do evil in Israel unto Naboth.
