Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign and forty years reigned him in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba. And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him. But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places. II Kings 12:1-3

Jehoash was a righteous king and Jehovah God blessed him because he did away with the Baal worship. He followed the ways of the priest Jehoiada, who was a good priest. Howbeit, the high places were not done away? This was part of the Caninite worship that was done in the mountains. Nevertheless, he was a good king following the commandments of Jehovah God. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. There was a lot of rejoicing over the reign of Jehoash. Praise God we are to pray for our leaders so that we too can live a peaceful life in all righteousness. Do not neglect to do this for God would have all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

  • #And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD's people, between the king also and the people. And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD. II Kings 11:17,18

Jehoiada is cleansing the house of God from idolatry. So he commanded the people to break down all the altars of Baal as well as the images. Jehovah God is pleased when we break down the altars of Baal that try to get a place in our hearts. God is a jealous God, and thou shalt have no other god before Him. When we do this the blessings of God come into our lives. Just cry out to Jehovah God to save me and He will save you for the battle is the Lord's.

  • #Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel. Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who made Israel sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel and that were in Dan. And the LORD said unto Jehu Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes and has done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.II Kings 10:28-30

Jehovah God rewarded Jehu for executing His judgment upon the house of Ahab and removing all that worshiped Baal from the land. Thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel. What a blessing this was to pass down to his posterity. Yet Jehu was not perfect, for he walked in the sins of Jeroboam who caused Israel to sin. There is not a just man upon the earth who sins not. Nevertheless, Jehu ruled Israel for twenty-eight years and God was merciful to him. That is why we call on Jesus, for He alone can save His people from their sin. Blessed is the man who covers not his sins, but confesses and forsakes them. He shall find mercy. Don't make excuses for your sin, but go to the cross of Calvary. Burdens are lifted at Calvary, for Jesus is ever there.

  • #And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah. And when Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window. And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master? And he lifted up his face to the window and said, Who is on my side? who? And looked out to him two or three eunuchs. And he said, throw her down. So they threw her down and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses and he trod her under foot. And when he has come in, he did eat and drink and said, Go, see now this cursed woman and bury her: for she is a king's daughter. II Kings 9:29-34

Jehu has just fulfilled the command of God through Elijah who warned of her demise after falsely accusing Naboth and having him killed and the dogs licked his blood. And they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. Wherefore they came again and told him. And he said, This was the word of the LORD, which He spake by Elijah the Tishbite, saying, in the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel. And the carcass of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel. What a sad ending for a woman who sold herself to do evil in the sight of Jehovah God. As God said to his servants the prophets what would happen to her for all the evil that she did. I pray that others will repent of their wickedness and start walking in the truth of Jehovah God by keeping His commandments. For God is ever merciful unto a thousand generations of those who keep His commandments. O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endures forever.

  • #And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many? And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength and smote Jehoram between his arms and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in the chariot. Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite, for remember how that when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid his burden upon him; Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons saith the LORD and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now, therefore, take and cast him into the plat of ground according to the word of the LORD. II Kings 9:22,24,25,26

Jehovah God is using Jehu to get vengeance on the decedents of Ahab, for murdering Naboth and taking his vineyard. So Jezebel will be next on the list, and the same place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth, they will lick hers. All because Jezebel sold herself to do evil and witchcraft in the land. Vengeance is for the Lord and He has said I shall repay. She thought what she did, that she would never have to pay for. Be not deceived, God is not mocked, what so ever a man sows, that shall he also reap.

  • #And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand and go, meet the man of God and enquire of the LORD by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease? So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden and came and stood before him and said, Thy son Benhadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying shall I recover of this disease? And Elisha said unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the LORD hath shewed me that he shall surely die. And he settled his countenance stedfastly until he was ashamed and the man of God wept. II Kings 8:8-11
Hazael was told to seek out Elisha the man of God, to see if he would recover from his disease. Elisha told him he would but he wept. Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord?
And he answered because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strongholds wilt thou set on fire and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword and wilt dash their children and rip up their women with child. So he departed from Elisha and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered he told me that thou shouldest surely recover. And it came to pass on the morrow, that he took a thick cloth and dipped it in water and spread it on his face so that he died and Hazael reigned in his stead. Every thing happened just as Elisha the man of God said. Weeping may be for the night, but joy comes in the morning. We should pray for our children that they will not have to live under such a dictator as Hazael. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

  • #And it came to pass at the seven years' end that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines and she went forth to cry unto the king for her house and for her land. And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done. And it came to pass as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king this is the woman and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now. II Kings 8:3-6
This king is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ, as he restored all the land, her house and the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land. Elisha did the will of God by restoring her son back to life from the dead. The woman walked by faith and was rewarded with everything she gave up during the famine. The officer that was appointed is a type of the Holy Spirit, as our Paraclete, who comes beside; us to comfort us in the trials of life. As Jesus said I; will not leave you as orphans but will give to you a comforter. Elisha, the man of God demonstrated time and again that he had received a double portion of Elijah's anointing. What a blessing to have a man of God in your family and give God the glory for the promise of the Holy Spirit to comfort us in our affliction. Every book of the Bible is about Jesus, as the Holy Spirit takes the things of Christ and makes them real in our lives. Seven is the number for completion, as God completed the trial in the woman's life after seven years. This woman is a picture of every believer who comes to the Lord Jesus Christ and He does not cast them away. As the Judge of all the earth, He does what is right in the kingdom of God. The son raised to life is a picture of our Heavenly Father who raised Jesus from the dead, who is now seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven making intercession for the saints. Thank Yahweh for ever being the same and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. O death where is your sting? For the sting of death is sin and thank God who gives us the victory in the LORD Jesus Christ. Thank God the Lamb of God has overcome and we sing His praises every day for His glory.Thank God for being constant through every generation.

  • #Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise and go thou and thine household and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine and it shall also come upon the land for seven years. And the woman arose and did after the saying of the man of God and she went with her household and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years. II Kings 8:1,2

Elisha has received a warning from the Lord God that a famine will come over the land for seven years, so he tells the woman whose son he restored to life to live anywhere. So the woman decides to live in the land of the Philistines, who were the enemies of Israel. God is able to make even your enemies be at peace with them when you walk in the ways of Jehovah God. We walk by faith and not by sight, so this woman is a great woman of faith, so the Lord protected her and her household in the land of Philistines. We must have that same type of faith to believe God will protect us in these difficult years of our Country. He that comes to God must believe that He is and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Just like this woman did. How many of us would have had the faith that this woman had? She was rewarded by God for her faith.

  • #They took, therefore, two chariot horses and the king sent after the host of Syrians, saying go and see. And they went after them unto Jordan and lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned and told the king. And the people went out and spoiled the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD. II Kings 7:14-16

Jehovah God gave Israel a great victory as the prophet Elisha had said. Who is like unto the Lord almighty, who makes the weak strong? No one Jehovah Nissi is His banner over Israel. Just as Elisha had said there are more with us than with them. And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, Behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. And so it fell out unto him: for the people trod upon him in the gate and he died. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord. Trust Him and do not doubt for not one of His promises have failed.

  • #And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes and he passed by upon the wall and the people looked and behold, he hath sackcloth within upon his flesh. II Kings 6:30

Benhadad king of Syria gathered his host and went up and besieged Samaria. So the king of Israel is mourning in sackcloth for the severe famine in the land. But Elisha sat in his house and the elders sat with him and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him. He said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away my head? Look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him? And while he yet talked with them, behold the messenger came down unto him and he said, Behold this evil is of the LORD, what should I wait for the LORD any longer? Then Elisha said, hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. Thus Jehovah God is showing mercy because the king prostrated himself at all the evil that came upon Samaria. God is a merciful God, who shows mercy to a thousand generations and all those who keep His commandments. God does not cause evil, but it comes as a result of sin. When the people repent of their sin, then Jehovah God shows mercy.
