Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Galatians 3:3

The Greek word for foolish is Anoetos: meaning not understanding. Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks and to the Barbarians; both to the wise and to the foolish. There is a poem: " Love is kind, love is good, love is the only way that we can have brotherhood" Paul is saying God so loved us that He sent His Son to die on the cross, and be a propitiation for our sins. Now for us to have brotherhood, we must walk in love and imitate our Lord Jesus Christ. We are not made perfect by the flesh, but perfect love casts out fear. God has not given us the Spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. This is unconditional agape love. Love believes all things, bears all things, and love never fails. My prayers go out to Mrs. Mary Fink that the Lord will restore her and bless her real good.

  • #This only would I learn of you, received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Galatian 3:2

The Greek word for learn is Matheo meaning to understand. 1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. The Greek word for subjection is Hypotage: meaning subordination So Paul asks a question of the Galatians so he can understand did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law? or by the hearing of faith? The scripture tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God. So Paul understands that the Spirit is only received by faith and not the working of the law. This is controversial as the Judieazers believed they had to do the work of the law to be saved just as Paul told the church that the woman was to learn in silence and be subject to her husband to teach her. This subordination is so because the man was created first, and she is the weaker vessel.

  • #O foolish Galatians who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Galatians 3:1

The Greek word for bewitched is Baskaino; meaning to slander, to bewitch. Akin to Phasko: to malign, i.e. (by extension) to fascinate (by false representations) to speak ill of one to traduce him according to Demosthenes, and Aristotle. hence of those who lead away others by error by wicked acts. This is what the Judieazers were doing to the Galatians telling them to be saved they had to keep the Mosiac Law. If that were true, then Christ died in vain, for He came to redeem us from our sins on the cross. Jesus said if you abide in my word you are my disciples indeed, and you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Thank God that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except by Him. It is my prayer that you will accept Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord and Savior and confess with your mouth the Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God hath raised Him from the grave, then you will be saved. Who ever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  • #I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness came by the Law, then Christ died in vain. Galatians 2:21

The Greek word for frustrate is Atheteo, meaning to do away with what has been laid down or set aside. It comes from a compound of a (negative particle) and a derivative of Tithemi, meaning to set aside, cast off, disannul, and bring to naught. 1 Timothy 5:12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. Jesus said when the Son of man returns to the earth, will He find faith on the earth? This is where we are today in apostasy, as those who once made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus have now set it aside to live as the heathens live in lusciousness and immorality. Paul is warning the Galatians not to set aside their faith trying to keep the Mosiac Law. For  Christ is the minister of righteousness and He died on the cross vicariously for us, so that we could receive the righteousness of Christ by faith. James said if we keep the whole law, and offend in one area, we are guilty of all and unholy. God demands perfection and only Christ could keep the Law. Faith without works of salvation is dead, so when you have saving faith you will manifest the fruits of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, kindness, longsuffering, meekness, and self-control, against such there is no law. If any man is in Christ Jesus he is a new creation, old things are passed away, and all things are new. We must judge ourselves so that we shall not be judged. Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches, if we abide in Him we will bear much fruit. Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus, who thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation and endures the cross, despising the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven interceding for us. So see to it that you are in the faith by inspecting the fruits in your life. If you are an orange tree bear oranges. For an evil tree cannot bear good fruit.

  • #I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20

This was my father's hallmark verse as a pastor, and he lived by it in the ministry. The Greek word for crucified is Systauroo; meaning to crucify together with. This is what happens to us, when Christ went to the cross to pay our sin debt, we were crucified together with Christ baptized in His death, and raised to life in His resurrection. The life I now live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. Matthew 27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with Him, cast the same in His teeth. We were like the thieves casting ourselves on Christ's teeth, yet only the one who said Lord remember me when you come into your Kingdom was saved. Jesus told him, this day shall ye be in paradise with Me. And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice saying Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? Which is to say my God, My God, why hast thou forsaken Me? God is too holy to look upon our sin, and Jesus made sin for us so that we could receive the righteousness of Christ by faith. This is why the life we now live in the flesh is by faith in the Son of God. Faith is our victory over this world and the just shall live by faith.

  • #For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. Galatians 2:19

The Greek word for dead is Apothnesko; meaning to die from apo and thnesko; to die off (literally or figuratively) to be slain. Romans 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would dare to die. But God commended His love toward us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. Happy Labor Day, as we celebrated the great work that Christ did for us on the cross, and now Paul says I, through the law, am dead to the law, and that I might live unto God. This great work that Jesus did for us fulfilled the law, and now we are alive in Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • #For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. Galatians 2:18

The Greek word for transgressor is Parabates; which means one who stands beside a breaker. From Parabaino; a violator. Romans 2:25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law; but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Paul is telling the Judiezers that if circumcision was kept then I am keeping the Law, but if I violate the law, I am the uncircumcised. The Mosaic Law does not save us, it was given until the Lord Jesus Christ would come, who only could keep the Law. When we place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we are complete, for His blood cleanses us of all sin, and Jesus is our Mediator with God.

  • #But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. Galatians 2:17

The Greek word for minister is Diakonos; meaning a servant. Especially a Christian teacher and pastor. Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God,  of revenge to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Christ is the minister of righteousness, cause He came into the world to seek and to save the lost. We are saved by grace, through faith, and that not of yourselves, but is the gift of God. Therefore come out from among them, touch not the unclean thing. Use not your liberty to sin, but to live a holy life, sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • #Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:16

The Greek word for Justified is Dikaioo; meaning to declare righteous. Paul is saying that neither the Jews or the Gentiles are justified by the works of the law, but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is written that the just shall live by faith. James said faith without works is dead. It is true works do not save us, but manifest that we are saved, for we are His workmanship, created in Christ to do good works.

  • #We who are Jews by nature and not sinners of the Gentiles, Galatians 2:15

The Greek word for nature is Physis; meaning nature. From Phuo; growth (by germination of expansion) i.e. (by implication) natural production (lineal descent) by extension, a genus or sort; figuratively, native deposition. constitution or usage. As Latin nature from Nascor, ingenium from Geno, Gigno from Homer, Odyssey10 Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. And likewise, also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Just as Isaiah said all we like sheep have gone astray, each according to his own way, and God had laid on Jesus the iniquity of us all. What shall we say shall we continue in sin? God forbid, we must crucify that flesh daily and walk in Spirit so that we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
