A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

#Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistles written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. II Cor.3:1-3
We are epistles, letters written not in ink, but declared to be the epistle of Christ. We are read and known of all men, but with the Spirit of the living God. So be careful what you are writing, as others see Christ in you with a fleshy heart, not in tables of stone. What an honor by God that he allows us to minister to you and we are accountable to God for what we write.
#Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that perish: To the one we are the savor of death unto death and to the other the savor of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not many, which corrupt the word of God, but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. II Cor. 2:14-17
We thank God for the leading of us in triumph in Christ and make known the savor of Christ everywhere to those who are saved. To those who are lost, we are the savor of death unto death. Who is sufficient for these things? We are in Christ and we preach Christ out of the sincerity of the word of God. In Christ, we make God known to all and rejoice that we are ambassadors for Christ where ever God sends us.
#To whom ye forgive anything, I forgive also: for if I forgave anything, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel and a door was opened unto me in the Lord. I had no rest in my spirit because I found not Titus my brother, but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia. II Cor. 2:10-13
When your brother sins against you, then rebuke him and if he repents then forgive him, lest Satan takes advantage of you. Paul had a great door opened to preach the gospel of Christ, but he looked for Titus to help him and could not find him. So Paul went on to Macedonia to do the work of the Lord. Some times our brothers and sisters leave us at an inopportune time, yet we must forgive them and do the work of the Lord as the Holy Spirit helps us.
#But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness. For if I make you sorry, who is he that maketh me glad but the same which is sorry for me? And I wrote this same unto you, lest when I came, I should have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice, having confidence in you all, that my joy is the joy of you all. For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you. But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me but in part: that I may not overcharge you all. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. So that contrariwise ye ought rather forgive him and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. II Cor. 2:1-7
Paul was heavy of heart and did not want to cause sorrow of whom should cause joy. Satan is always trying to take the influence of us by not forgiving anyone who has sinned. Once the person has been rebuked, we must forgive lest the one will be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. So this is what Paul had to warn the Corinthians, lest Satan takes advantage of them. This is a good lesson for us today so may the Lord give us the grace to move on and forgive by keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
#And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit and to pass by you into Macedonia and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea. When I, therefore, was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the yea yea and nay nay? But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. II Cor. 1:15-18
Paul, Silvanus, and Timotheus came preaching Christ, not as yea, nay but as God is true we say yea and Amen to the glory of God for his promises. So when God answers prayer it is always yea and not in the flesh as it is said nay. We have to be ready to say Amen to the glory of God for his goodness in knowing what we need. That does not mean that God does not say no to us, but all his promises are yea and we have to align ourselves to the will of God by saying yea and Amen to his will.
#Who delivered us from so great a death and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us: Ye also helping together by prayers for us, that the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. II Cor. 1:10-11
God delivers us from death and he delivers us in death. For to live is Christ and to die is gain. Death is a vehicle God uses to change our address from earth to heaven. As we travel this earth doing the will of God bringing Christ to the nations, and when our journey is over he calls us home to heaven to celebrate Christ forever. We do this by your prayers as you continue to help us in the work of the Lord and we give thanks to God for you in this ministry.
#And whether we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same suffering which we suffer: or whether we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing that as ye are partakers of the suffering, so shall ye be also of the consolation. For we would not, brethren, have ye ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life, But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead; II Cor.1:6-9
Paul is comforting others and he wants them to be aware of the suffering that he suffered in Asia, even despairing of life. Having the very sentence of death in ourselves, only so that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead. What a joy to know that God will raise us from the dead when we have the sentence of death in ourselves. Just as God raised Jesus from the dead, we too will be raised at the resurrection of the just, which is the first resurrection. Therefore we must remain steadfast and unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord for we know that our labor is not in vain.
# Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: Grace be to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. II Cor. 1:1-5
Paul is an apostle by the will of God and Timothy our brother. He is concerned about the church which is at Corinth, as well as the saints which are in all Achaia that the Grace and peace of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ rule in their lives. As God is the Father of all comfort and all mercies. So just as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so also his consolation aboundeth by Christ. No matter what we are suffering, be it the death of a loved one, or divorce or separation God will comfort us in all our tribulations. Thank God and give the same comfort to others that God has given to you. Our prayers go out to Dr. Tony Evans that the God of all comfort will console him in the homegoing of his Beloved wife. Heaven is our home and this world is our passage. We are pilgrims and strangers on our way to see the will of God done in our lives as we build the Kingdom of God on this earth. So be patient unto the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who will bring the Kingdom of God to us at his second coming.
#For I will not see you now by the way, but I trust to tarry a while with you if the Lord permits. But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me and there are many adversaries. Now if Timotheus comes, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do. Let no man, therefore, despise him but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come unto me: for I look for him with the brethren. I Cor. 16:7-11
Paul is going to tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great door is and effectual is opened unto me and there are many adversaries. Thus Paul wants to see Timotheus, and for him to come without fear. Timotheus was doing the work of the Lord, as I do and he needs to come in peace: for I look for him with the brethren. I take comfort in this passage as my name, too, is Timothy which means one who honors God. No wonder Paul took great comfort in Timotheus with the other brethren.
#Pray for the peace of Jerusalem they shall prosper who do so. The world is in need of the Prince of Peace. Soon the Government shall be on his shoulders. He shall rule from sea to sea and all peoples will submit to him as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
