Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind and said, Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee and declare thou unto me. Wilt, thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency and array thyself with glory and beauty. Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. Look on every one that is proud and bring him low and tread down the wicked in their place. Job 40:6-12

Jehovah God answered Job out of the tornado and said, Gird up thy loins now like a man. Then God asked several questions of Job to prove that He is wiser in all his judgments. Job, was a righteous man but Jehovah God is righteous in all his judgments and no one can disannul them. Jehovah God has a long arm from which he saves us and thunders from heaven. Then He tells Job to deck thyself now with majesty and excellency and array thyself with glory and beauty. Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath and behold every one that is proud and base him. Pride is the number one sin that God hates and whoever exalts himself will be brought low. He will tread down the wicked in their place. Let us examine ourselves and see that we are in the faith. For God resists the proud but gives grace unto the humble. When God judges us, let us say that Jehovah is righteous in all of His judgments and though he slays me, I will trust in him. When we do this, we will be better equipped to deal with the trials of life.

  • #Moreover the LORD answered Job and said, Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it. Then Job answered the LORD and said, Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth. Job 40:1-4

Jehovah God answered Job and said, Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproves God, let him answer it. Job answered Jehovah God by saying, Behold I am vile; what shall I answer thee? Then Job does only what any man can do by saying: I will lay my hand upon my mouth. We are all silent before a Holy God. Man that is born of a woman is of a few days and they are full of trouble. God considers our frame and remembers that we are but dust. We all stand as filth rages before Almighty God. Even Job, who was the most righteous man on the earth, realized that he was vile before a Holy God. Let us bow down before him and worship the Lord, for he is worthy of all of our worship. For he has made us and not we ourselves. We are the sheep of his pasture. Thank the Lord that his mercies are new every morning, for great is thy faithfulness O God. Let us repent of our sins and ask the Holy One of Israel to forgive us, for we were fearfully and wonderfully made. O praise his name forever and let us keep silent before Him.

  • #He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet. He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains and the shouting. Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom and stretch her wings toward the south? Doth the eagle mount up at thy command and make her nest on high? She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock and the strong place. From thence she seeketh the prey and her eyes behold afar off. Her young ones also suck up blood and where the slain are, there is she. Job 39:24-30

God continues to instruct Job by saying doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom and stretch her wings toward the south? Doth the eagle mount up at thy command and make her nest on high? We are told to have the patience to wait on God, is to gain the strength of an eagle and all the wings. We must work together to reduce racism to stop police brutality. We need the police to serve and protect all people. When the Church will address the problem of injustice, then we will have peaceful change in the world. The Bible tells us to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God in the world. When we do this we will be able to solve the pandemic of racism in the world.

  • #Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Job 38:1-4

Jehovah God answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? O, I wish I could have been there to see the response of Job to the voice of Jehovah out of the tornado; Job must have felt like the smallest of men before the Everlasting Almighty God of creation and that he would answer Job in such power. Elohim the creator of the universe answers Job and tells him to gird up his loins like a man and Job is rendered speechless at the voice of the Almighty. The world is angry at the slaying of George Floyd and the God of all power, justice, and mercy demands an answer from Job. He could very well demand us an answer as He sent his only begotten Son into the world, to seek and to save the lost. They crucified him and while He was on the Cross, He cried out: Father forgive them for they know not what they do. We need to pray for the Policeman who killed George that they will answer the Lord out of the whirlwind. Then Jehovah God asks of Job, where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Job, would utterly repent in sackcloth and ashes as well as all of us should do before a Holy God. Who are we the question the Almighty God who has given us the sixty-six books of the Bible to search out his ways which are above the heavens? Let us say to the policeman, Father forgive them for they know not what they do, for we too stand in the need of forgiveness.

  • #Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speaks, surely he shall be swallowed up. And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds, but wind passeth and cleanseth them. Fairweather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty. Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: He is excellent in power, and in judgment and plenty of justice: he will not afflict. Men do therefore fear him: he respects not any that are wise of heart. Job 37:20-24

Elihu continues his diatribe with Job by asking a question: shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speaks, surely he shall be swallowed up. This is going to be the result of Job in the next chapter. God is terrible in majesty. Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. God Almighty is near to the broken-hearted he does not afflict without cause. The psalmist said before I was afflicted I went astray, now I obey thy law. We need to obey the law of God and help those that are down trotted. For God is a buckler to the poor and those that are contrite in heart. God is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: We are crying out for justice for Terrence Floyd the brother of George Floyd who was murdered by the police. The judgment of an evil work is not speedily executed, but the wheels of justice grind slowly. We must wait upon God for there is nothing hidden that He will not reveal. Therefore, men do fear him: He is not a respecter of any that are wise of heart. So humble thyself before the mighty hand of God and in due time he will lift thee up.

  • #Hear attentively the noise of his voice and the sound that goeth out of his mouth. He directeth it under the whole heaven and his lightning unto the ends of the earth. After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency and he will not stay them when his voice is head. God thundereth marvelously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain and to the great rain of his strength. He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work. Then the beasts go into dens and remain in their places. Job 37:2-8

The book of Job has a lot of meteorologies in it and not only for them but for all of us to marvel at the voice of the Lord. Today is the first day of the Hurricane Season in the United States of America and as we ponder should we buy flood insurance, let us ponder that we have our spiritual houses in order. As the world is being rocked with the coronavirus pandemic and racial unrest with the police killing of George Floyd. We pray that there would be a turning to God in repentance and moaning for righteousness and justice to flow like a mighty river. The beast goes into dens and remains in their place to show their respect for God. We need to show our love for God and our fellow man who is made in the image of God. May a great revival break out in this land and a turning to God with love for mankind. Be at peace with all men and follow holiness, for without holiness no man will see the Lord.

  • #Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity? Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. Every man may see it; a man may behold it afar off. Behold, God is great and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapor thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distills upon man abundantly. Also, can any understand the spreading of the clouds or the noise of his tabernacle? Job 36:23-29

Elihu has some good questions about life and living righteously. Then he states a profound fact: Behold, God is great and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out. God is from everlasting to everlasting; he had no beginning or end. He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. We are finite and He is infinite. He sends small the small drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapor thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distills upon man abundantly. What a mighty God we serve who purifies the rain in the clouds upon man abundantly. Also, can any understand the spreading of the clouds or the noise of his tabernacle? Scripture tells us that the clouds are his chariots and one day Jesus is going to step out in the clouds to call His children home. What a glorious day that will be when the dead in Christ will be awakened to their glorified bodies and those who are alive in Christ shall be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye. We say even so come Lord Jesus to take us away. This sin-cursed world needs Jesus who came to seek and to save the lost. All creation is moaning for Him to break through the clouds one day real soon. Let us fear the Lord and depart from iniquity living a life of love for God as well as our fellow man.

  • #If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receives he of thine hand? Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art and thy righteousness may profit the son of man. By reason of the multitude of oppressions, they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night; Who teacheth us more than the beast of the earth and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven? There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men. Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it. Job 35:7-13

Elihu continues his diatribe with Job by saying Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art and thy righteousness may profit the son of man. Then he questions where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night; Who teaches us more than the beast of the earth and makes us wiser than the fowls of heaven? God indeed does give us songs in the night and does make us wiser than the fowls of Heaven? But for him to accuse Job as he has done, is to show some self-righteousness. Job is indeed a righteous man and is not suffering because of his wickedness that he has committed. Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it. Thus God will require Job to intercede for his friends for all the false accusations that they have made against Job. We too must intercede for the families of the oppressed that God will grant them relief from the oppression of the wicked and pray for our leaders that they make the rule in righteousness. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. May we be like Job and wait on God all the days of our appointed time for our change to come.

  • #That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more. Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest. Let men of understanding tell me and let a wise man hearken unto me. Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom. My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men. For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us and multiplieth his words against God. Job 34:32-37

Elihu has asked some great questions for Job and he said that which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more. This is most noble and it should have impressed Job for him to say that. Then he says let men of understanding tell me and let a wise man hearken unto me. Then he states Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom. This had to be hard for Job to listen to, but the Bible tells us if you rebuke a wise man, he will thank you. We know that Job is indeed a wise and righteous man and God will rebuke him at the proper time. So we can learn a lot from this diatribe with Job and to see that Job addeth rebellion unto his sin and claps his hands among us while his words were multiplied against God. This was a bold statement as God had said to Satan, that you movest me to strike Job without cause. We know that Job, is a righteous man, but he is not perfect. There is not a just man upon the earth that sinneth not and Job is an example of one. So our words must be few towards God, for He shall correct all of us at the appointed time. So as the psalmist said: help me to know my end, so that I may number my days in wisdom.

  • #He looketh upon men and if any say, I have sinned and perverted that which was right and it profited me not; He will deliver his soul from going to the pit and his life shall see the light. Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man, To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace and I will speak. If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee. If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace and I shall teach thee wisdom. Job 33:27-33

Elihu is a good and honest man but he is wrong about Job. It is easy to judge another man if you have not walked in his shoes. Job does hold his peace and God will reward Job in the end when he prays an intercessory prayer for his friends. We are in the midst of this coronavirus pandemic and we too should be praying for our friends and neighbors that God will deliver them from this virus, for He is our Jehovah Rapha, our healer. Thank God for Elihu and forgive him for judging Job for some sin he thought was in his life. Job indeed will be healed of his boils and vindicated of all the evil that has come upon him.
