Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil or railing for railing, but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil and do good; let him seek peace and ensue it. I Peter 3:8-11

Peter is exhorting the Christians to be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: We should not be racist in our beliefs but loving toward all men and women. Just as Jesus laid down his life for the brethren we too should love one another with that same love, being courteous preferring the other above thine own self. Let him that will see good days not render evil for evil or railing for railing and refrain his tongue from speaking evil and his lips that they speak no guile: For ye are to speak blessing to all, knowing that ye are thereunto called that ye should inherit a blessing. Let him avoid evil and do good; let him seek peace and ensue it. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.

  • #Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. I Peter 3:7

Peter is now focusing on the husbands, mainly the Christian ones, to live with their wives according to knowledge. This is a very difficult thing, as the wife is very hard to understand, yet the husband must watch her so that he can understand what she likes and dislikes. All wives love to be honored, so that is why it is important to give honor, tell her how beautiful she is and how much you love her. For she is the weaker vessel, but do not insult her intelligence, as women are very smart and always value her advice. Then realize that you are heirs together of the grace of life, for every day you are becoming one body, as the body of Christ is one and you will be saved by the grace of God at the same time, so value each moment that you have together, for you will spend all eternity in heaven with the Lord praising Jesus together. Then lastly, that your prayers be not hindered because, in order to have an effective prayer life, it is important that you be at peace with one another. Do not go to bed angry always seek to not let the sun go down on your wrath, but talk things out so that the Lord will hear your prayers.

  • #Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well and are not afraid with any amazement. I Peter 3:3-6

Wives whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair and of wearing gold, or of putting on of apparel: True wives do not need this to be beautiful for beauty is in the soul. So let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. Remember wives God is watching in the Holy Spirit so let that beauty be the meek and quiet spirit which has no price. For after this manner in the old-time the holy women also, who trusted in God adorned themselves being in subjection unto their own husbands: Just like Sara who obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: I know you would love to be like Sara for she was beautiful even at sixty-five, and you can be daughters of her, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. My Mother was such a wife to my Father, and he called her "bunchier baby" showing his love for her. I thank God I was able to witness that love between my parents and God blessed them with sixty-two wonderful years of wedlock.

  • #Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. I Peter 3:1,2

Peter has addressed how Christians are to behave toward the Government and Employers. Now he is addressing the Christian and non-Christian homes. He talked to the wives who were to be in subjection to their own husbands; that if any obey not the word, they could be won without the word by the holy conversation coupled with fear. This is very important for husbands who are not Christians, for they want to see if the believing wife is sincere in her faith. Faith without works is dead, so the wife can win the unbelieving husband with her faith coupled with godly conversations with the husband. She must seek out her own husband and not another woman's husband. This is what the unbelieving husband is looking at; which is her character in the home. Do not be a busy body going from house to house spreading gossip, but have a godly conversation in your own home with your own husband. This is so needed today to keep marriages together. How many husbands have left their wives because she could not keep her conversation godly with him and instead gossiped to another husband about what is wrong with her husband? I must admit I have been witness to this as a Service Technician I would listen to wives berate their husband before me and I wondered what would your husband think of them doing that? It is imperative that the wife lives a godly life before her own husband and speaks well to him as well as about him. This would stop many a divorce if this were done.

  • #For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray, but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. I Peter 2:21-25

We were called unto suffering because Christ also suffered for us leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: So count it all joy when ye fall into divers trials and temptations knowing that the trial of your faith produces patience so that ye may be complete. For when Jesus suffered, he threatened not but committed himself to Him that judgeth righteously. Christ gives us the strength to endure our trials by the power of the Holy Spirit. We have healing in our bodies because Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes we are healed. Thank God that we were as sheep going astray, but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

  • #Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. I Peter 2:17-20

Peter is exhorting the believers to honor all men, without respect of persons. Love the brotherhood, which means have agape love one for the other just as Jesus commanded us to love one another as He loves us. We must fear God reverentially, knowing that one day we will stand before Him to give an account of our lives. Then we should honor the President since we live in a Democracy, we do not have Kings. Servants can be paraphrased: employees and masters: employers, be subject to them with all fear, not just to the good and gentle but also to the reprehensible. For this is thankworthy if a man for conscience toward God endures grief, suffering wrongfully as Christians. For what glory is it, if when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? We must not suffer as murderers or thieves, but as righteous men being accused falsely. When ye do well and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable to God.

  • #Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servant of God. I Peter 2:13-16

We are told by Peter to submit to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: that means Government is ordained by God, whether it is a democracy or a monarchy. Yes, we must be model citizens so as to obey governors, as they are sent by God for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of them that do well. It is by well-doing that we put to silence the ignorance of foolish men. We are not to use our liberty as a cloke of maliciousness, but as servants of God. So what if that Government is unjust, then we can protest according to the First Amendment to the Constitution, but do not loot of riot. We can seek redress by seeking Congressional action to correct inequities in the Law. We must pray for those in authority so that we may live peaceful lives.

  • #Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. I Peter 2:11-12

Peter is admonishing the believers as strangers and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Let every man have his own wife and every woman her own husband. We are living in a time of massive promiscuity and it destroys your testimony. We must live such lives among the Gentiles, that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. For, Jesus will descend from the heavens with a shout of the Arcangel and call us up for that great meeting in the air, where the dead in Christ shall be raised from their sleep. Those who are alive and remain shall be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. So we must put our spiritual houses in order so we will be ready when Jesus comes again and we shall stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ to answer for the things done in the body, good and bad.

  • #Unto you, therefore, which believe he is precious but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: hereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. I Peter 2:7-10

Jesus Christ is the precious cornerstone that the builders disallowed and has become a stone of stumbling, as well as a rock of offense even to those who stumble at his word. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved and thy house. If you reject him, you will be doomed for all eternity in darkness. We the elect of God are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people so that we can show the praises of Jesus who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Shine for Jesus so that men may see your good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven. For we were once a people which, had not obtained mercy but are now the people of God: now we have obtained mercy. Peter was sifted by the devil, but Jesus prayed for him that his faith would not fail and he told him when you are converted strengthen your brethren. Thank God for impetuous Peter who denied the Lord three times and knows about failure. Now he like we have obtained mercy from God. Live your life here in godly fear waiting for the glorious appearance of Jesus who will catch us away to our home in heaven to a glorified body just like his.

  • #To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men but chosen of God and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. I Peter 2:4-6

Jesus Christ came unto his own, and his own people, the Jews, rejected him as the Messiah, so to as many as believed on him, the Gentiles, have become the sons of God. We are a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ the only Mediator between God and man. Wherefore it is written in scripture I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: Jesus Christ is this stone that the builders rejected, the religious leaders, now we that believe on him shall not be confounded. The Church, the ekklesia, consists of Jews and Gentiles are living stones built up in Jesus Christ. It was Peter that Jesus told thou shall be a rock, Cephas, on which I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail. Jesus is the chief cornerstone, and Peter the little stone, that on Petentacost preached the gospel and over 3000 souls were added to the Church. The gates of hell are coming against the Church more than ever before, but Jesus said in this world we will have tribulation but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world. We have the promise that we the Church will be taken up in the rapture to forever be with the Lord as the Bride of Christ without spot or blemish.
