A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #My beloved is mine and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. Song of Solomon 2:16

The Shulamite bride is in love with Solomon and he is in love with her. This is a picture of the Church, the Bride of Christ, in love with Jesus as He is the lily of the valleys and feeds among the lilies. Jesus said I am the bread of life and whosoever feeds on Me shall never hunger. Jesus is all that we need as our soul is satisfied in Him alone and we will feast on His Word as it is a lamp unto our feet, as well as a light unto our pathway. So if your marriage needs a little more love, then fall in love with Jesus Christ the lily of the valley, and your marriage will burn with vigor. The Lord of the Church is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for us to have the grace to help us in our time of need. So come before his throne for grace and mercy to live in this barren world. For He was tempted in all points, just as we are and without sin, so we too have the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete to comfort us in our times of temptation. For all temptation is common to man but God is faithful who will not allow us to be tempted more than we can bear, who will with the temptation make a way of escape. I Cor. 10:13

  • #Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. Song of Solomon 2:15

The little foxes are the pitfalls to the vines, such as false teachers to the Church the Bride of Christ and we must guard our marriages against these grape destroyers. Foxes love to dig holes in the vineyard by spreading gossip and deceit in the body of Christ. The little foxes are the gray areas of scripture where the false teachers use their interpretation of the grace of God by causing many to go astray. Jesus told us that we would know the tree by the fruit for an evil tree cannot produce good fruit. There must be love in the marriage just as Christ loves the Church, husbands must love their wives also by not being bitter against them. The husband is to build up the wife in the faith so that she will respect him in the marriage. How many marriages are destroyed by the little foxes digging holes in the marriage relationship with deceit and innuendoes. Husbands do not compare your wife to the neighbor's wife and stir up jealousy in the marriage. Jesus demonstrated his love for the Church in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Therefore, husbands must love his wife the same way Christ loves the Church and that is how we stop the little foxes from destroying our marriages.

  • #O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice and thy countenance is comely. Song of Solomon 2:14

This is a picture of marriage as the Church is the bride of Christ and Jesus is the rock on which He will build his church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against her. The Church is persecuted, just like the Master, and has to hide in the secret places of the stairs, which is a picture of the stairs leading to heaven. Jesus said in this world you will have persecution, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world. Then as every husband wants to see the face of the bride and hear her voice for sweet is her voice. The voice of Jesus is like many drinks of water refreshing the bride and her face is lovely because of it. Jesus said whosoever believes in me out of his belly will flow rivers of waters, which is a picture of the Holy Spirit our Paraclete that Jesus promised to send. So if your marriage is in trouble listen to the voice of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit and He will give peace over the troubled waters.

  • #The fig tree putteth forth her green figs and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. Song of Solomon 2:13

Jesus said when you see the fig tree spreading leaves, then you know that summer is nigh and this is the promise of the Kingdom of God coming to Jerusalem. What a blessing that shall be to the earth when the Bride of Jehovah God receives the Kingdom and there will be plenty of figs on the vines. The tender grape will give good smells and there will be peace in the valley for thee. My beloved shall Arise to go into the Kingdom of God and come away ruling the nations with a rod of iron. God will give the kingdom that He promised to David and his descendants. That will be glory for me as my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will reign in Jerusalem and the desert will blossom like a rose.

  • #My beloved spake and said unto me, Rise up, my love my, my fair one and come away. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth, the time of the singing of birds has come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; Song of Solomon 2:10-12

The Shulamite bride is told by Solomon to rise up my love, my fair one, and come away. This is a picture of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after He redeemed the Church at the cross; now has risen from the grave as the first fruits from the dead. Now, it is the springtime of new beginnings and the singing of the birds has come. The voice of the turtle is heard in our land; as Jerusalem has been redeemed. The Prince of Peace has come with salvation and reversed the Adamic curse over the earth. All nature is rejoicing for the Creator has redeemed the creation. Now perfect environment, no climate change, and all nature is rejoicing. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ sing for Joy, for the Lord has come as He promised with healing in His wings.

  • #My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, showing himself through the lattice. Song of Solomon 2:9

This is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ, whose coming was foretold in the law, and though the Jewish people as a whole rejected His swiftness a remnant believed. The law was a schoolmaster therefore no one is made righteous by the keeping of the law, but by placing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We see through a glass darkly, but when He that is perfect comes we will know as we are known. Christ fulfilled the law and by His death, burial, and resurrection we are being justified, sanctified, and when He comes again will be glorified. For we will see through the lattice by grace through faith and now we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works. We are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, not of works lest any man should boast. Israel will be saved when the Messiah comes to set up His kingdom and they will say blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. Now Jesus is baptizing Jews and Gentiles into the body of Christ. So place your faith in Jesus and you too will be saved.

  • #The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. Song of Solomon 2:8

This is a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ coming in the second coming when He will land on  Mount Olives with the bride the Church to celebrate the honeymoon in the Kingdom of God. What a glorious time this shall be when there will be perfect peace for 1000 years and the lion will lay down with the lamb. They shall not harm in the holy hill in Jerusalem and they shall beat their swords into pruning hooks. Every man will have his own fig tree for the Lord shall reverse the curse and the desert shall blossom like a rose. How we look forward to this glorious time that is yet to come and until then we must go into the highways and byways to compel them to come into His Kingdom.

  • #His left hand is under my head and his right hand doth embrace me. I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he pleases. Song of Solomon 2:6,7

Eros in marriage is very important, as Solomon embraces the Shulamite bride to the shock of the daughters of Jerusalem and it is important to keep the fires burning at the right time. Husbands must render due benevolence to their wives and wives must render the same to their husbands. Nevertheless, there is a time when you must pause nor awake love till it is the right time. There comes a time in marriage when you must come apart so that you can consecrate your hearts to the Lord in prayer and fasting. Then only for a season, you must come together again lest ye be tempted. When this is done properly the marriage relationship will grow stronger and God will be glorified in the marriage.

  • #He brought me to the banqueting house and His banner over me was love. Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. Song of Solomon 2:4,5

This is a picture of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in heaven for the church, the Bride of Christ where the Holy Spirit will comfort us with flagons of apples. We will be so in love with the Lord Jesus that it will be as though being sick in love. In heaven, He will wipe away all tears for this will be after the Bema Seat of Christ where we will receive our crowns casting them at the feet of Jesus, then celebrating the wedding feast. What a day of rejoicing that will be when we all get to heaven my Jesus I will see, that will be glory for me. I pray that you will accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you too can rejoice to be at that great wedding feast in heaven.

  • #As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight and his fruit was sweet to my taste. Song of Solomon 2:3

Climate change has caused the loss of many fruit trees in Texas due to the deep freeze and I lost of my fruit trees with all the sweet fruit to my taste as a result. It is time that we get serious about planting more trees to counter carbon emissions in the atmosphere. My father-in-law was a hortorculteralist and he planted banana trees, orange trees, and grapefruit trees and they all have perished due to the changing climate. This passage speaks of how much we need fruit trees to maintain strong marriages and with the loss of these fruit trees, I have seen the separation of my marriage relationship. What shall we do? Well, I will praise the Lord for we are fearfully and wonderfully made and climate change is part of the curse of sin that Jesus will reverse when He comes again to establish His kingdom. In heaven, there will be the tree of life bearing twelve types of fruit that will be sweet to taste and God will wipe away all our tears for the former things will be passed away. There will be no more marriage for we will be like the Angels. So let us do the works of the Lord by going into the highways and byways to compel them to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior. Then we will have the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, self-control, and meekness. These will be the fruits of the Spirit that we will enjoy and restored relationships.
