A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

Saphir is likely to be Samaria and their shame was nakedness which brought the wrath of Jehovah upon them. Today we are seeing the same sins being practiced in America and as the nation is so divided now with the Presidential impasse in the Election we pray that there will be a spiritual awakening before the wrath of God comes down upon her. We need more than ever before to seek the Lord with all our hearts and turn from our wicked ways. It is because of all this idolatry that the wrath of Jehovah came upon Judah and Jerusalem. The Lord will reckon with us if we do not turn to him in weeping and wailing.
#For behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place and will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains shall be molten under him and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire and as the waters that are poured down a steep place. Micah 1:3,4
Jehovah shall come and the mountains shall be molten under him and the valleys shall be cleft as the wax before the fire and as the waters are poured down a steep place and He shall rule from sea to sea. We will rejoice when the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord Jesus Christ and He will reign forever and forever.
#The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem. Hear, all ye people; hearken, O earth and all that therein is and let the Lord GOD be a witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple. Micah 1:1,2
The Greek and Latin titles of this book are Michaias and Micha and Jehovah God is telling the prophet, Micah, to deliver the stern message of judgment because of the way the rich are abusing the poor. We will see that Micah will announce the coming of the Messiah who will come from his holy temple. The Jewish people thought that the Messiah would come as the conquering king who would judge the earth, but that will happen at his second coming. Micah is telling the people of God what Yahweh desires for them: to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before the Lord. May we do just that as we are in the midst of a Presidential crisis of leadership and who will take the reigns to lead America out of the coronavirus pandemic that the whole world finds itself in. May the Lord give our leaders the wisdom to stop all the partisan bickering and pass needed relief for the American people to make it through the difficult days ahead until a vaccine will be administered.

Paul wants the Colossians to remember his bonds and by the grace of God, he salutes them with this doxology. This epistle is written by Tychicus and Onesimus who were fellow-workers of Paul. Thank God for those who serve in the gospel of Christ and I am encouraged by my fellow ministers in the gospel who encourage me in my isolation in this coronavirus pandemic.
#And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it. Col. 4:17
Archippus had wavered in the ministry and Paul was concerned that he finish it in the Lord. Paul was accustomed to ministers needing to fan the flames, as he had to tell the young minister Timothy to stir up the gift of God. Ministers today suffer from burn out and not being appreciated for all that they do. It is a challenge for we must run the race with our eyes on Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith. As long as we stay focused we will be able to fulfill the ministry in the Lord. I thank God that it will be worth it all when we see Jesus and look upon his face, the one who saved us by his grace. May the Lord encourage all those who are feeling down and know that we will win the Shepherds crown.

For it is a blessing to have a doctor in the family, as my daughter, Dr. Rebekah George Keillor just had my second grandbaby Charlotte Elizabeth Keillor. Dr. Luke was a great friend of the Apostle Paul in his bonds and Demas would later forsake Paul having loved this present world. Paul saluteth all the brethren in Laodicea and wanted this epistle to be read there. It is the will of God that we would do good to all men, especially those of the household of faith.
#Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you and them that are in Laodicea and them in Hierapolis. Col. 4:12,13
Paul bears record to the great zeal of Epaphras, a servant of Christ, who salutes the brethren, always laboring fervently in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. It is a blessing to have brothers like Epaphras praying for you and I have a brother Edward Johnson, who prays for me in the ministry as well. I thank God for him and his family who loves the Lord. It is the will of the Lord for us to be perfect or mature in Christ and that is what Paul and his fellow-workers were doing in Laodicea and Hierapolis. Jesus addressed the church in Laodicea in the book of Revelations as being lukewarm. Neither hot nor cold, so he admonished them to put on eye salve and buy gold tried in the fire. We too must repent so that we will not be lukewarm in our service to the Lord. We must put our foot to the plow and not look back, for whosoever looks back to this world is not fit for the kingdom of God. So let us have a zeal for the Lord with knowledge doing his will with steadfastness.
#Aristarchus my fellow prisoner saluteth you and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabus, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he comes unto you receive him;) And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. Col. 4:10,11
Paul is thanking God for Aristarchus his fellow prisoner who saluteth Marcus, sister's son to Barnabus, and Justus, who are of the circumcision, which meant they were Jews. They all were fellow-workers unto the kingdom of God which were a great comfort to Paul. I thank God for Robert Hatton, who is my fellow-worker in the kingdom of God too for comforting me in the ministry. As we both have lost our wives through divorce and separation. Paul told us that if you are loosed from a wife, seek not to be bound. Celibacy is indeed a gift, that all men do not have and I pray that my wife will return home. We must through many trials and tribulations enter into that blessed kingdom of God. I thank the Lord for allowing me to see my 61st. birthday, as it is a blessing to be given another opportunity to spread the gospel of peace. We must continue to pray for America as the election is upon us and we need leaders who will be responsible for climate change and bring this country together from racial strife.
#All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord: Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate and comfort your hearts; With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. Col. 4:7-9
It is a blessing to have a minister like Tychicus to declare the state of the Colossian believers to Paul along with Onesimus, the runaway slave, whom Paul shared the gospel of Christ to in his chains, who became a faithful and beloved brother. Paul told Philemon that if he owes you anything, charge it to my account. If you wonder what could Onesimus owe? The answer is to be a runaway slave of Philemon was like theft, so Paul told his master that he ran away a slave, but now he is a beloved brother in Christ. As Christians when we see our brother in need and fail to help him, how can the love of God be in us? We must give of our resources to our brothers and sisters in Christ. That is what Philemon was doing so he was happy to share with all the brethren the blessings that God had bestowed upon him. This is indeed the same comfort and love that Tychicus and Onesimus were sharing to Paul in the ministry to the Colossians.
#Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. Col. 4:6
We must allow the Holy Spirit to control our tongue so that we will know to use our speech with grace. Also seasoned with salt, since we are the salt of the world and salt is a preservative that keeps food from spoiling. Salt also adds flavor to food and that is how we are to answer every man with grace, and love in our hearts. I thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives that gives us temperance, self-control, and peace when we interact with our fellow man. The world so desperately needs Christians to moderate all the confusion that is going on in society today. By the grace of God we will win more people to the Lord Jesus Christ by knowing how we are to speak to them with grace in our hearts, and salt in our lives. Salt can also be a metaphor, as Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt because she looked back at Sodom when the angels warned them not to. Jesus commanded us in Luke 17:32 told us to remember Lot's wife. We must not grieve or quench the Holy Spirit by not allowing the Spirit to control us. It is the Holy Spirit that gives us the grace and wisdom of how we ought to answer every man.
