Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And the saying pleased the whole multitude and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte: Whom they set before the apostles and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. Acts 6:5,6

So the multitude of the disciples was pleased with the saying and chose these seven men of which Stephen was well known as he would be the first martyr of the Church and Nicolas was a Greek, who converted to Judaism and was circumcised, that is what a proselyte was the rest of the men scripture does not tell us what they did. Yet the apostles received them all and prayed for them, then laid their right hands of fellowship on them. This is the sign of unity in the Church and the multitude of believers were greatly blessed by this. How do we need this same type of unity in the Church today? As we get closer to the coming of the Day of the Lord, the Church will need to pray more and be filled with the Holy Spirit for a great revival to break out.

  • #And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Acts 6:1

How short a period of time did pure Christianity run the world until the Grecians, who were Hellenistic Jews out of Palestine, murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. So as the disciples were multiplied the twelve called the multitude of the disciples together and said it is not a reason that we should leave the word of God to serve tables. Therefore, brethren look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over the business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word. This was the most important thing that the disciples had to decide on how to fulfill their ministry without neglecting the widows of the Church. The Church is not a business, yet it must run like a business with accountability. That is why the reason to set apart seven men full of the Holy Spirit who could run the business aspect of the Church and care for the widows. Thank God for Social Security today which provides a survivor's benefit to widows, which was something that was needed in the first administration of the Church. Not all widows' have an adequate benefit to draw upon, so it is incumbent upon the children to care for their widows' as Paul would teach in I Tim. 5 to the Church. That is what we did when my father passed away, my mother lived with my wife and me for almost a year. Then my sister took care of her for the remainder of her life. I thank God that He provides for His saints as David said I have been young and old; not once have I seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread.

  • #And daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 5:42

Praise God the apostles were bold enough to obey God and not the man so daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. That is the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. That name that is above every name where every eye shall see, every tongue shall confess, and every knee will bow proclaiming He is Lord to the glory of God. What a testimony that is to every man of God for we are living in a pandemic, when churches have been closed and forced to go virtual, we must be bold to teach as well as preach Jesus Christ, for He is the only One who is able to save us from this pandemic. My prayers go out to the families that are divided, blended, and mixed because of unequally yoked believers living with unbelievers. We must preach Jesus Christ crucified and we as His servants. I am troubled by this Jezebel woman that has invaded the pulpit and turned the true servants away to commit sexual immorality as Jesus told the Church in Thyatira to repent we must do the same today. For they cannot endure sound doctrine but have turned themselves to teachers having itching ears. Let every man have his own wife and every woman her own husband. Being equally yoked to the Lord Jesus Christ and each rendering due- benevolence to one another so that they will not be tempted to stray from the faith.

  • #And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain and all as many as obeyed him, were scattered and brought to naught. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of taxing and drew away many people after him: he also perished and all, even as many as obeyed him, perished. Acts 5:35-37

When the wicked even my enemies came upon me they stumbled and fell, for the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid. Thank God we serve a risen Savior who is able to save unto the uttermost those that trust in him. Thank God for the testimony of Gamaliel those that led a revolt were all destroyed. So the Sanhedrin thought it best not to have the apostles slain because of his report Gamaliel told them to refrain from these men and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to naught: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. Praise God so they called the apostles and had them beaten, then commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, then let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

  • #Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, who had a reputation among all the people and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; Acts 5:34

And for a sacrifice of peace offerings, two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, five lambs of the first year: this was the offering of Gamaliel the son of Pedhzur. Num.7:59 Gamaliel was the captain of the tribe of Manasseh and was a man of peace. He embodied the Messiah, the Prince of Peace who would die on the cross to make peace with God. The Pharisees believed in the resurrection, but the Sadducees did not so this explains why Gamaliel being a doctor of the law wanted to help the apostles since they were put in jail for believing in the hope of the resurrection of Jesus Christ the Messiah. I thank God for using Gamaliel to help the apostles, for the council had already decided to slay them and God raised up this great man of God to help them at such a time as this. This is a lesson for all of us to trust God in times of trouble for He will rescue us and we must glorify Him. Gamaliel would also be used by God to train the great apostle Paul.

  • #When they had heard that, they were cut to the heart and took counsel to slay them. Acts 5:33

Thank God for the Holy Spirit who gives us wisdom on how to answer the gainsayers, as the Sanhedrin have been cut to the heart by the testimony of Peter and are taking counsel to slay the apostles. We must be consistent in our faith so that even when our lives are in danger we trust God to deliver us from our adversaries. Jesus told us not to fear the man who can only destroy the body, but to fear God who can destroy soul and body in the Lake of fire. So many are afraid to get the vaccine because of their political and religious beliefs. It is God who gives man the wisdom to use these vaccines to eradicate the disease. What happened to Polio? Thank God that Americans stood up to receive the vaccines and Polio has been eradicated from the earth. We can do the same to the coronavirus pandemic if more people will stand up and receive the vaccine. I have received both doses of the vaccine and will be seeing my doctor to see if I should receive the booster shot. It is time for us to stop playing politics and start doing what is right for the American people. Fear God and keep His commandment for this is the whole duty of man.

  • #And we are His witnesses of these things and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him. Acts 5:32

Peter is filled with the Holy Spirit and led to tell the Sanhedrin that we are witnesses of these things and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him. The Elizabethian English of the day when the King James was written calls the Holy Spirit Ghost, He is ever with those who have been baptised with the Spirit and helps us to obey the Words of the Lord. We have the greatest witness of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ living in us so let us be bold to give witness to this fact. For one day we will have to give an accounting before God of our witness at the Judgment Seat of Christ and we ought to obey God rather than man for this reason. Soon the Lord Himself shall descend from the clouds with a loud shout of the voice of an Arcangel, at the trumpet of God and the dead shall be raised first, then those who are alive shall be changed in a mommet in the twinkling of an eye. So shall we ever be with the Lord, Oh what a day that will be when my Jesus I will see that will be glory for me.

  • #Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Acts 5:29-31

I thank God for the boldness of Peter to declare we ought to obey God rather than men. For this same God has raised up Jesus, whom we all slew and hanged on a tree, for all of us have sinned. Thank God He laid the iniquity of us all on Jesus and has exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, and He is able to save to the uttermost those that call upon Him. So I do not know where you are in your life, but call out to Jesus to turn from your sins to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Then you will be saved from your enemies.

  • #And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Acts 5:27-28

The Sanhedrin brought the apostles there in their midst and said did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? meaning the name of Jesus and we too must be ready to give an accounting before the authorities when they seek to silence us from preaching the Word of God. This pandemic has caused governments to close churches while allowing bars to remain open. I just voted in the local elections with propositions on the ballot to allow governments to restrict Americans from using their First Amendment rights and this is violating the Separation of Church and State. I thank God that in a Democracy we are allowed to voice our opinions at the polls when our rights as American citizens are being challenged. So I encourage all of you to vote and do not take for granted the rights that you have or they may be taken away.

  • #Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple. Acts 5:25

The Religious leaders found out that the apostles who were put in prison are standing in the temple. What a mighty God we serve who is able to deliver us from the uttermost parts of the earth, as the angel of the Lord was sent by God to deliver them from prison and transport them to the temple. So we too can be faithful to God to teach and preach His word of life where ever He will send us. It is therefore appointed unto stewards to be faithful in all that God has placed in our hands. We must use our time, talent, and treasures to the glory of God as well as the edification of the body of Christ.
