Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. Acts 9:36,37

Tabitha, which is called Dorcas was full of good works doing the work of the Lord and Almsdeeds. So she was sick, we do not know what kind of sickness but it leads to her death. Now they laid her in the upper chamber and forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, so they sent two men desiring him that he would not delay coming to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he has come, they brought him into the upper chamber, for they were expecting him to raise her from the dead.  And the widows stood by him weeping and showing coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth and kneeled down and prayed and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented Dorcas alive. And it was known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.  Thank God that the apostles were given the gift of raising the dead as Peter and Paul both demonstrated this in their apostleship. And many people placed their faith in the Lord.

  • #And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him and turned to the Lord. Acts 9:35

The healing of Aeneas caused many in Lydda and Sharon to turn to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When we preach Christ and Him crucified and risen from the grave, many will place their faith in Him. That is what Saul and Peter are doing. We too must do that so that many sons and daughters will come to Christ. Our prayers are with President Biden to do Diplomacy with Putin in the crisis in Ukraine. We do not want to see another Cold War develop within these two countries. How we thank God for the first epiphany of the Lord Jesus as the Babe in the manger at Bethlehem, the next time He comes it will be as King of kings and Lord of lords. Let us celebrate the holidays with peace on earth and goodwill toward men on which the favor of God stands.

  • #And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. Acts 9:32

One of the great saints in the Church told my mother his favorite verse phrase" and it came to pass" this truly is a great verse phrase indeed for all our trials have come to pass. The great persecutor of the Church is now praying and there is rest to the persecuted saints at Jerusalem and now Peter is passing throughout all quarters, and he came to the saints which dwelt at Lydda which is near Joppa. There Peter found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed for eight years, and was sick of the palsy. And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. What a mighty God we serve for the apostles who had the power to heal and raise the dead as a sign of their apostleship. I thank God for He is still performing miracles in the body of Christ as some have the gifts of healing. I thank God for healing my wife of the coronavirus and answering our prayers. I prayed for a beloved sister who attended the church where I was called to preach, but she passed away from the virus. The Lord heals some, and He calls others home to be with the Lord, which is far greater. So do not be discouraged if God does not heal everyone. For it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Heb. 9:27

  • #And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Grecians but they went about to slay him. Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. Acts 9:29,30

And Saul preached boldly the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Grecians but they went about to slay him. The Grecians were the Jews all over the Roman Empire that spoke other languages and they were in conflict with Saul. So the brethren knew this and brought Saul down to Caesarea and sent him forth to Tarsus. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. This is the result of Saul being full of the Spirit and allowing the Lord to use him to preach the gospel. Thank God when we obey the Holy Spirit and preach the Word of God many souls are added to the kingdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and this is what brought about rest throughout all Judaea, Galilee, and Samaria. How we need that rest in the churches today as many are divided over whether to get the vaccine or the booster shot. This should not be such a partisan issue but it is and many are dying because they will not get the vaccine or booster shot. There is no need to be afraid of the vaccine for they have proven to be effective against all the variants of the virus. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. So use this soundness of mind and get the vaccine so we can have rest in the churches.

  • #But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way and that He had spoken to him and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. Acts 9:27

Barnabas is a Hellenistic Jew like the apostle Paul, and so he declared the salvation experience of Saul on the Damascus road and how he saw Jesus on the way. Now he is preaching Jesus in Damascus which confirmed his apostleship. What a blessing this was to the church at Jerusalem so they believe now he is one of them. We need to be as inviting as Barnabas was to Saul in reaching the lost for Jesus Christ. For Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. We too must be about our Father's business just as Jesus is interceding for us in heaven at the right hand of God. I pray that you will ask God who can I touch for Jesus Christ during this holiday season? The answer to that question is yes Lord yes, to your will, and to your way. Take time to talk to someone about Jesus at the grocery store and share what the Lord is doing in your life. I love to talk to people about Jesus where ever the Lord sends me. May the Lord bless us to encourage those who are suffering from SAD which is a seasonal adjustment disorder. Many times over the holidays' families are divided because of divorce and separation so let us spread the joy of the Lord to them.

  • #And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. Then the disciples took him by night and let him down by the wall in a basket. Acts 9:23-25

The Jews were very angry at Saul for preaching the gospel, and after many days were fulfilled, they took counsel to kill him. God gave Saul the wisdom to know what was going on as the Jews watched him day and night. Then God told the disciples to take Saul by night in a basket and let him down. What a blessing as God used the disciples to save his life with their wisdom but there were some who still did not believe that Saul was a true disciple. When Saul came to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples, but they were afraid of him. Jesus told us to judge not, and ye will not be judged; condemn not and ye will not be condemned; forgive and ye will be forgiven. It is very important that we do those things to prevent bitterness from coming into the body of Christ. For when the Lord saves, you cannot condemn. For Saul was saved on the road to Damascus, and he is on Straight street doing the will of God. When thou confess with thy mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the grave, then thou art saved.

  • #And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. Acts 9:19

Saul received the meat of the Word from Ananias and now the physical meat for his body to be strengthened. So Saul stayed a certain number of days  with the disciples which were at Damascus. He did not know at this time what great things he was going to suffer for the Lord but immediately he starts to preach the Word of God. But all that heard him were amazed and said; is not this he that destroyed them which called on the name of Jesus in Jerusalem? But Saul increased the more strength and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the very Christ.  Normally one should not start preaching as a novice, yet Saul is not a novice since he has seen Jesus Christ and has been revived in mind, body, and spirit. We can learn much from the life of Saul as the Lord is using this man to turn the world upside down for Jesus. May the Lord use us in these last days as we proclaim the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ over the Internet, Radio, and Television. Trully many signs of an apostle were done in the life of Saul as he made full proof of his ministry.

  • #But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Acts 9:15,16

Yes, the Lord replies to Ananias Saul is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel. Ananias is told to go thy way, for I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. Indeed Saul would be used by God to write thirteen books of the Bible, and if you believe he is the author of Hebrews, then he wrote fourteen books. So Ananias went his way, and entered into the house and putting his hands on him, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest hath sent me, that thou should receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scaled and he received sight forthwith, and arose and was baptized.

  • #Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. Acts 9:13,14

Ananias has reservations about the veracity of Saul's conversion because he has heard of the saints that at Jerusalem he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on the name of Jesus. It is said that Saul is being wrongfully accused because of his past reputation. A man named Anthony Broadwater was falsely accused of rape and served 16 yrs. in prison for a crime he did not commit. All because pubic hairs were extracted by the police to convict him. Thank God he has been exonerated and the woman who accused him has apologized. Ananias will have to do the same to Saul after the Lord rebukes him.

  • #And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus: for behold he is praying And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Acts 9:11,12

Ananias is told by God to Arise and go into the street which is called Straight and ask for Saul of Tarsus in the house of Judas. We do not know who this Judas is but he will receive Ananias for Saul has been praying and received a vision from God that Ananias would come and lay his hand on him that he might receive his sight. So Ananias is obedient to the voice of the Lord and goes as he is told. We too must be obedient to the Lord when He tells us to walk the straight and narrow way. For broad is the road that leads to destruction and many there be on that path. It takes born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to walk the narrow road called Straight on which few there be that travel.
