A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Arise therefore and get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. Acts 10:20

And the Spirit told Peter to Arise and get thee down and go with these three men doubting nothing: For God has sent them. Just like God sent His Son into a dark world to a people who needed a great Light. Jesus is that Light of the world and all those who follow Him shall not walk in darkness. So stop being a doubting Thomas and believe that great Light that shines in your heart. Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and be baptized into the body of Christ.

  • #This was done thrice and the vessel was received up again into heaven. Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made an inquiry for Simon's house and stood before the gate. Acts 10:16,17

Simon Peter was doubting in himself what the vision meant that he had seen. So God had sent three men from Cornelius to seek thee. We must not doubt in the light what God reveals to us in the darkness.

  • #And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually, And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. Acts 10:7,8

Our prayers to the people in Kentucky that suffered from the tornadoes truly the weather patterns are changing with record heat in December and a cold front which caused these deadly tornadoes. An angel who spoke unto Cornelius was departed and told him to send two of his soldiers to go to Joppa to look for Peter. On the morrow, as they went on their journey and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour, which is 12:00 pm our time, and he became very hungry and would have eaten, but while they made ready, Peter fell into a trance and saw heaven opened and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of four-footed beasts of the earth and wild beasts, and creeping things and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill and eat. Truly, God is preparing Peter for his meeting with Cornelius, and what a shock this is to Peter. But Peter said, Not so, Lord: for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. This is a principle for the Jews for Jesus came to the Jews died on the cross for the sins of the whole world even the Gentiles. And Cornelius is a devout man of God whom has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and he is to go to him and preach the gospel.

  • #There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, A devout man and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people and prayed to God always. Acts 10:1,2

Simon Peter is staying at the house of Simon the tanner a seaside resort while there is a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the Italian band. He was a devout Gentile. so he gave money to the poor Jews and he feared God with his whole house. As well as prayed to God always. He is a converted Gentile. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day, which is 3:00 pm our time,  an angel of God coming into him. and saying unto him Cornelius. And when he looked at him, he was afraid and said what is it, Lord? And the angel said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: This is the providential will of God having Peter at just the right place at the right time to help this Gentile know Jehovah God. We must always make ourselves available to do the will of God at all times. This will be a reckoning experience for Peter since it was against the practice of the Jews to come to the Gentiles. Yet God is going to let Peter see a vision of what he is to do. So always pray to God just as Cornelius does so that you will be ready to do the will of God.

  • #Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. Acts 9:36,37

Tabitha, which is called Dorcas was full of good works doing the work of the Lord and Almsdeeds. So she was sick, we do not know what kind of sickness but it leads to her death. Now they laid her in the upper chamber and forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, so they sent two men desiring him that he would not delay coming to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he has come, they brought him into the upper chamber, for they were expecting him to raise her from the dead.  And the widows stood by him weeping and showing coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth and kneeled down and prayed and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented Dorcas alive. And it was known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.  Thank God that the apostles were given the gift of raising the dead as Peter and Paul both demonstrated this in their apostleship. And many people placed their faith in the Lord.

  • #And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him and turned to the Lord. Acts 9:35

The healing of Aeneas caused many in Lydda and Sharon to turn to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. When we preach Christ and Him crucified and risen from the grave, many will place their faith in Him. That is what Saul and Peter are doing. We too must do that so that many sons and daughters will come to Christ. Our prayers are with President Biden to do Diplomacy with Putin in the crisis in Ukraine. We do not want to see another Cold War develop within these two countries. How we thank God for the first epiphany of the Lord Jesus as the Babe in the manger at Bethlehem, the next time He comes it will be as King of kings and Lord of lords. Let us celebrate the holidays with peace on earth and goodwill toward men on which the favor of God stands.

  • #And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. Acts 9:32

One of the great saints in the Church told my mother his favorite verse phrase" and it came to pass" this truly is a great verse phrase indeed for all our trials have come to pass. The great persecutor of the Church is now praying and there is rest to the persecuted saints at Jerusalem and now Peter is passing throughout all quarters, and he came to the saints which dwelt at Lydda which is near Joppa. There Peter found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed for eight years, and was sick of the palsy. And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. What a mighty God we serve for the apostles who had the power to heal and raise the dead as a sign of their apostleship. I thank God for He is still performing miracles in the body of Christ as some have the gifts of healing. I thank God for healing my wife of the coronavirus and answering our prayers. I prayed for a beloved sister who attended the church where I was called to preach, but she passed away from the virus. The Lord heals some, and He calls others home to be with the Lord, which is far greater. So do not be discouraged if God does not heal everyone. For it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Heb. 9:27

  • #And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Grecians but they went about to slay him. Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus. Acts 9:29,30

And Saul preached boldly the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Grecians but they went about to slay him. The Grecians were the Jews all over the Roman Empire that spoke other languages and they were in conflict with Saul. So the brethren knew this and brought Saul down to Caesarea and sent him forth to Tarsus. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. This is the result of Saul being full of the Spirit and allowing the Lord to use him to preach the gospel. Thank God when we obey the Holy Spirit and preach the Word of God many souls are added to the kingdom. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and this is what brought about rest throughout all Judaea, Galilee, and Samaria. How we need that rest in the churches today as many are divided over whether to get the vaccine or the booster shot. This should not be such a partisan issue but it is and many are dying because they will not get the vaccine or booster shot. There is no need to be afraid of the vaccine for they have proven to be effective against all the variants of the virus. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. So use this soundness of mind and get the vaccine so we can have rest in the churches.

  • #But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way and that He had spoken to him and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. Acts 9:27

Barnabas is a Hellenistic Jew like the apostle Paul, and so he declared the salvation experience of Saul on the Damascus road and how he saw Jesus on the way. Now he is preaching Jesus in Damascus which confirmed his apostleship. What a blessing this was to the church at Jerusalem so they believe now he is one of them. We need to be as inviting as Barnabas was to Saul in reaching the lost for Jesus Christ. For Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. We too must be about our Father's business just as Jesus is interceding for us in heaven at the right hand of God. I pray that you will ask God who can I touch for Jesus Christ during this holiday season? The answer to that question is yes Lord yes, to your will, and to your way. Take time to talk to someone about Jesus at the grocery store and share what the Lord is doing in your life. I love to talk to people about Jesus where ever the Lord sends me. May the Lord bless us to encourage those who are suffering from SAD which is a seasonal adjustment disorder. Many times over the holidays' families are divided because of divorce and separation so let us spread the joy of the Lord to them.

  • #And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him: But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him. Then the disciples took him by night and let him down by the wall in a basket. Acts 9:23-25

The Jews were very angry at Saul for preaching the gospel, and after many days were fulfilled, they took counsel to kill him. God gave Saul the wisdom to know what was going on as the Jews watched him day and night. Then God told the disciples to take Saul by night in a basket and let him down. What a blessing as God used the disciples to save his life with their wisdom but there were some who still did not believe that Saul was a true disciple. When Saul came to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples, but they were afraid of him. Jesus told us to judge not, and ye will not be judged; condemn not and ye will not be condemned; forgive and ye will be forgiven. It is very important that we do those things to prevent bitterness from coming into the body of Christ. For when the Lord saves, you cannot condemn. For Saul was saved on the road to Damascus, and he is on Straight street doing the will of God. When thou confess with thy mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the grave, then thou art saved.
