Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Wherefore dost thou forget us forever, and forsake us so long time? Lamentations 5:20

The Hebrew word for time is Yom; meaning day. From an unused root meaning to be hot; a day (as the warm hours) whether literal (from sunrise to sunset or from one sunset to the next) as at other times in trouble, weather, as when, within a whole age, full year. Hosea 6:2 After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us and we shall live in His sight. This is a prophetic verse on escatology. God will come again and revive the Jewish Nation of Israel. The Jews will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the time of the Gentiles comes to an end. Jesus will come riding on a cloud, and all those who pierced Him will see Him and mourn, for He is coming with great power to set up the kingdom of God, and He will rule with a rod of iron. Jeremiah is weeping for the Lord to go and set up His kingdom.

  • #Thou, O LORD, remainest forever; thy throne from generation to generation. Lamentations 5:19

The Hebrew word for generation is Dor; meaning period, a revolution of time, a dwelling. age, evermore, posterity. Dor (Duwr) properly a revolution of time, i.e. An age or generation; also a dwelling. Genesis 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before Me in this generation. Jehovah God dwells forever and His throne is from generation to generation. Time does not control Jehovah God, He moves outside of it Chronos is for man and his generation. As Noah was the only righteous man on the earth, and God saved him and his family in the ark. Jesus is the ark of safety for us, and if any man is in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away, and all things have become new.

  • #Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. Lamentations 5:18

The Hebrew word for fox is Shual; perhaps a jackal—or shunal from the same as Shoal a jackal (as a burrower) fox. Song of Solomon 2:15 Take us the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. Solomon is talking about the little foxes that ruin a marriage. Solomon knew a lot about these little foxes with all the wives that he had. Jeremiah is talking about the mountain of Zion which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it. That is what foxes do, like a disabled spouse, the little foxes that spoil Zion. We need to pray that God will give us the strength to overcome the little foxes that creep up in marriage and remember we vowed for better and worse in sickness and health. When we say these vows in marriage we have no idea how better can be, or how worse and can be. We walk by faith and not by sight. Just pray to God that the foxes will not walk upon my marriage and that I will be faithful until death do we part.

  • #For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim. Lamentations 5:17

The Hebrew word for faint is Daveh; meaning unwell, menstruous cloth, she that is sick, having sickness. From Davah; sick (especially in menstruation) Isaiah 30:22 Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it. Get thee hence. This is what Jesus said every time He cast out demons. Jeremiah knows the Israelites have forsaken the true God, for broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Jesus is the living water that we need to have life. My eyesight is dim also and I stepped on a nail that has caused intense pain and will have to see a doctor to get antibiotics.

  • #The crown is fallen from our head: woe to us, that we have sinned.! Lamentations 5:16

The Hebrew word for crown is Atarah: a wreath from Atar; a crown. Song of Solomon 3:11 Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold King Solomon with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals and the day of his heart's gladness. King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines, so he knew a lot about espousals, and his mother, Bathsheba gave him a wreath for all of his espousals. It was that all of his foreign wives that turned his heart away from Jehovah God, and this is what Jeremiah is saying woe to us for we have sinned against the Lord and lost our crowns. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. It is time for America to repent of this divisiveness, for our nation has not been this divided since the Civil War. I pray that if my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, then God will hear their prayers, forgive their sins, and heal their land.

  • #The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. Lamentations 5;15

The Hebrew word for mourning is Ebel; meaning lamentation. From Abal to lamentation 2 Samuel 11:7 And when Uriah has come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, how the people did, and how the war prospered. What a hypocrite King David is after he sent messengers and took Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, and she came unto him and he lay with her; And the woman conceived and sent and told David, and said I am with child. And David sent to Joab saying send me Uriah, the Hittite. If King David had confessed his sin to Uriah, he would have forgiven him, for Uriah was a honorable soldier. But David said to Uriah, Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet. And Uriah departed out of the kings house, and there followed him a mess of meat from the king. But Uriah slept at the door of the king's  house with all the servants of his lord and went not down to his house. Whoso covers his sin shall not prosper, but whosoever confesses and forsakes it shall find mercy. This is why joy has left the heart of Jeremiah and the people, as it left king David when he sinned against the Lord. Psalm 51 is written as a repentance of David for he said Lord restore unto me the joy of my salvation. When we sin joy is lost and dance is turned into mourning. O come and magnify the Lord with me, For the Lord is exalted and worthy of all our praises. David was a man after God's heart and yet he committed this great sin against God. When he prayed restore unto me a clean heart, renew a steadfast spirit in me, then his joy returned. This is a great lesson for us, and I pray that if you have sinned, to confess your sin to God, for He is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • #The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick. Lamentations 5:14

The Hebrew word for musick is Neginah; meaning instrumental music, a stringed instrument, a poem set to music, or an epigram. Neginoth plural for song Or Ngiynath (Psa'abal: title) (negeenath) from nagan; properly, instrumental music; by implication a stringed instrument. Psalm 4:1 (To the chief Musician on Neginoth, a Psalm of David) Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. David played the harp, and he did it to calm the mental illness of King Saul. Music calms the mentally ill and helps them to sleep for better cognition. Jeremiah says the elders have ceased at the gate and the young men no longer play stringed instruments to calm the people. I thank the Lord for giving me the gift of playing the piano by ear. My mother made me listen to the hymns of the Church and I was playing for the choir of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Courtney, Texas at the age of five where my father was the pastor. I was the last of six children and I played for the choir until my dad resigned in 1976. My mother said the music comforted her when my dad lost his job. Music is a blessing and I wish that I had played in Jones Hall when my music teacher invited me, but I was too shy. I love to play the piano and learn the new worship songs of the church. Christian music has come a long way and we are brought closer together when we sing praises to God in songs and hymns.

  • #They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood. Lamentations 5:13

The Hebrew word for grind is Tchown; meaning a hand mill, hence a millstone from Tachan; a hand mill where they would grind meal, to be a concubine. (that being their employment) Isaiah 47:2 Take the millstones and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance and I will not meet thee as a man. As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel. Sit thou silent and get thee into the darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, the lady of kingdoms. Jehovah God shall get vengeance on Babylon for making concubines of the Israelites. This was human trafficking that was being done and this sin is still being practiced today. Guard your children on the Internet, and know who they are talking with. Keep the doors and windows of your home locked to protect the children from being taken out. Yes, the Hebrew word for bare is Chasaph; meaning to make naked. Isaiah 30:14 And he shall break it as the breaking potter's vessel that is broken in pieces he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit. Thank God He is the Potter and we are the clay, we must submit to Him as He molds us into the image of Jesus Christ.

  • #Princes are hanged up by their hands: the faces of elders were not honored. Lamentations 5:12

The Hebrew word for Elders is Zaqen; meaning old, aged, ancient (man) or woman, and senator. Genesis 43:27 And he asked them of their welfare and said Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive? Joseph is concerned about his father and honoring him. How we now live in a generation where the elderly are abused and scammed out of their inheritance. God will surely punish those who do not keep the fifth commandment which tells us to honor our father and mother all the days of our lives and it will be well with thee. We need more elder care as seniors are sent to nursing homes and forgotten about. Be nice to your children for they pick your nursing home. Millennials are the sandwich generation as they have to care for their children and their elderly parents. We need more support for those living in multigenerational homes and though it can be a blessing as it is free baby sitting for the grandchildren. Our hearts go out to the young couple whose mother was killed by a falling tree from the hurricane. May the Lord comfort the family knowing that she is at home with the Lord in heaven. After my father passed away my wife and I took in my mother for almost a year, and then my sister took her in for the remainder of her life. This is what it means to honor your parents and the Lord blessed us for doing so. Jeremiah is talking about princes being hanged by the hands. We need a strong military to protect our princes, and while we do not have a monarchy in America, we still need a strong Democracy.

  • #They ravished the women in Zion and the maids in the cities of Judah. Lamentations 5:11

The Hebrew word for ravished is Anah: meaning to rape or cohabitate with. to do violence to. Genesis 34:2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her and lay with her, and defiled her. This was by consent, even though it says he took her. Dinah was supposed to yell if she did not consent to the cohabitation. And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel and spake kindly unto the damsel. The Jews were not supposed to intermarry with the pagans. So what Shechem did would cause civil unrest in Israel. Similar to interracial marriages in the United States, it was forbidden before Loving v. Virginia became the law of the land in 1967. Richard loving a white man married a Cherokee Indian  Mildred and they caused this law to go to the Supreme Court to legalize interracial marriage. It is still a contentious thing today, and couples are still being looked upon unnaturally. This was also used to legalize same-sex marriage.  Lawrence v. Texas giving privacy in 2003  A landmark decision of the U. S. Supreme Court which ruled laws criminalizing sodomy between consenting adults unconstitutional. We must love all people; when a couple is in love, they should be allowed to marry regardless of race.
