A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8

The Greek word for accursed is Anathema; meaning that which is laid up. a votive offering. From Anatithemai; a ( religious) ban or (concretely) excommunicated (thing or person) Luke 21:5 And some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, He said; as for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Jesus is the good news that Paul is preaching about and he warned the Galatians if an angel from heaven preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have heard from us, let him be anathema, which is accursed. That is what Jesus is teaching on the second coming on Mount Olivet, that all these beautiful stones will be cast down. And He warned there would be false teachers, and false christ coming in my name and will deceive many. We must guard against false teachers, and the only way we can do that is to know the true gospel of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit takes the things of Christ and reveals them unto us. False teachers are like clouds without any rain. Do not allow them into your house or wish them Godspeed.

  • #Which is not another, but some trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. Galatians 1:7

The Greek word for pervert is Metastrepho; meaning to turn about (to pervert) From Meta and Strepho; to turn across, i.e. Transmute or (figuratively) corrupt. James 4:9 Be afflicted and mourn and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. This is what Paul is talking about, those Judiezers or corrupting the true gospel of Christ and afflicting the people and causing them to mourn as James is talking about. The apostle James said faith without works is dead, so true faith in Christ will produce good works. This is not another gospel but the true gospel of Christ for we are His workmanship created in Christ to do good works. Paul and James are complimenting one another and not contradicting the gospel. We must beware of those who say you have to keep the Ten Commandments to be saved. Paul tells us that the Law is a schoolmaster that brings us to Christ. For we are saved by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and not of works lest any man should boast.

  • #I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Galatians 1:6

The Greek word for marvel is Thaumazo; meaning to wonder. From Thauma to wonder; by implication to admire, have in admiration. Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was and is not and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit and go into perdition and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world when they behold the beast that was and is not, and yet is. Paul is wondering what caused the Galatians to turn from the grace of Christ to another gospel. This will happen to the people in the great tribulation as the false Prophet will turn the hearts of the people from the gospel of Christ to receive the mark of the beast 666, which will be placed on their forehead, and right hand. All those who receive this mark will perish with the beast, false prophet, and dragon in the lake of fire. This was prepared for them before the foundations of the world. Paul is warning the Galatians not to turn from the grace of Christ to idolatry. Works will not save you, nor will this mark of the beast.

  • #To whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Galatians 1:5

The Greek word for glory is Doxa; meaning honor, and praise. From the base of Dokeo; glory (is very apparent) in a wide application of worship. This is the term for Doxology. This verse is one of the great doxologies of the church. Revelation 5:12 Says with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. We will be singing the praises of the Lord Jesus as the Lamb of God who was slain before the foundations of the world. There will not be any racial divide as all tribes, and kindreds will sing the alleluia choros in heaven. What a glorious day that will be, so let us sing His praises now while there is still breathing in our lungs.

  • #Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present world, according to the will of God and our Father. Galatians 1:4

The Greek word for the present is Enistemi; meaning to place in, to be at hand. From En and Histemi to place on hand, i.e. (reflexively) to be instant. Hebrews 9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that couldn't make Him that did the service perfect about the conscience; But Christ being come a High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Jesus became a High Priest for us, that He might deliver us from this present world, according to the will of God our Father. Now He is seated at the Father's right hand interceding for us. Let us come boldly before the throne of Grace, and mercy that we may enter in.

  • #Grace be to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:3

The Greek word for Grace is Charis; meaning unmerited favor and kindness. Paul begins by setting forth his credentials as an apostle with a message from God,  Blessings come from God based on our faith—and not law. The Law condemns men guilty and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ sets men free to enjoy the liberty of grace. God is our Heavenly Father, and the Lord Jesus the Son is our Mediator with the Father.

  • #And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia. Galatians 1:2

Galatia is a district in Asia Minor or a larger Roman province including this district as well as others. It took its names from those Gallic tribes that crossed into Asia Minor and after roaming about there for a time at length settled down permanently in the above mentioned region and intermarried with the Greeks. Josephus Antiquities provided this information. 2 Timothy 4:10 for Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world and is departed unto Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. So Paul had defections in the ministry, as Demas loved this present world, in the Greek Aion. From the same as Aei; properly an age, by extension, perpetuity (also past). Chronos in the Greek is that time. We are warned to love not this world, for all that is in the world the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, all these things are passing away, He that does the will of the Father will live forever and chronos will not bother you. Let us walk in the Spirit and we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

  • #Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father; who raised Him from the dead;)Galatians 1:1

The Greek word for apostle is Apostolos: a messenger sent on a mission by God. Having launched their Christian experience by faith, the Galatians seemed content but then charted a new course based on works. This is why Paul declared he was an apostle not by man, but by the Lord Jesus Christ, for it was on the Damascus road, where he came into contact with the risen Savior. as he was Saul persecuting the church. Jesus said unto him Saul why do you fight against the pricks? Why are you persecuting Me? Then Saul said who art thou Lord? I am Jesus, and immediately the sun shined so bright that it put out his eyes. Then Saul was sent to Ananias to receive his sight. Jesus told Saul to get on a straight street. We are saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, not of works lest any man should boast. Now we are the Poemia of God which means we are Christ's workmanship, created to do good works. We do not work to earn our salvation, but to validate it.  Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearance of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Saul had his name changed to Paul and he would later ask the Galatians have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth?  Jesus is the embodiment of all truth and when we preach Jesus we will make enemies. but Jesus said if you are my disciples indeed, ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

  • #But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us. Lamentations 5:22

The Hebrew word for wroth is Qatsaph; meaning to be angry. to crack off, burst out in rage. A primitive root. to crack off. i.e. (figuratively) burst out in rage. displease, fret self. (provoke to wrath. Genesis 41:10 Pharaoh was wroth with his servants and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker. Joseph has the gift of interpreting dreams, and God interprets them. So the butler is restored to the former position and the baker is hung, just as Joseph had interpreted. Two years later Pharaoh had another dream about the fat cows and the lean cows. Joseph told Pharaoh Jehovah God was going to bring seven years of prosperity and to store up in barns for the seven lean years. Joseph was promoted to second in command to Pharaoh for interpreting the dreams correctly. This is what Jeremiah is praying that the Lord will not reject Israel forever and will bless them as He did Joseph. The Bible tells us that a man's gift will make room for him. So give God the glory as Joseph did, for promotion comes neither from the East or the West, promotion comes from the Lord. Thank God we must never be weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a blessing if we faint not. Thus this is the end of the Lamentations of Jeremiah and we will be going to the book of Galatians.

  • #Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old. Lamentations. 5:21

The Hebrew word for renew is Chadash; meaning to repair. to rebuild. A primitive root; to be new; causatively, to rebuild, Isaiah 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, raise the former desolations and repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me because the LORD hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort them that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified. *Isaiah 61:1-3  This is what Jeremiah is praying and weeping for.
