A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed because His compassion fails not. Lamentations 3:22

The Hebrew word for compassion is Racham; meaning tender love; by extension, the womb (as cherishing the fetus) by implication, a maiden, or damsel, tender love and pity. Genesis 20:18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham's wife. We see the compassion of Jehovah's God by not allowing Abimelech to go into Sarah, Abraham's wife because he was told that she was his sister. This was a half-lie, as she was his half-sister. Nevertheless, God closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech. This shows us the tender mercy of the Lord God, by not allowing the lineage of the Messiah to be polluted. It is of Jehovah God's mercies that we are not consumed, for all have sinned and fallen short of perfection, which the Law demands. Jesus became sin for us at Mount Calvary, so that we could receive imputed righteousness which comes by faith. Abraham was the father of faith, and we see that he had shortcomings too. There is, therefore, now no condemnation unto those in Christ Jesus who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. This verse is where the great hymn of the Church" Great is thy faithfulness" comes from. Thank God that His mercies are unto all generations.

  • #This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. Lamentations 3:21

The Hebrew word for mind is Leb; the heart, the feelings, the will, and the intellect. Proverbs 23:15 My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. Jeremiah is pondering all the thoughts in his mind, as the weeping prophet. He learned that when we recall the mind, all those feelings, of the will, and the heart come to our intellect. We are told to ponder the path of life and to keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. When we do this we will have hope and not anxiety. Learn to have thick skin so that you can endure hardness as a good soldier of the Lord Jesus Christ. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds in the mind. Whatsoever things are pure, lovely, if there be any virtue, then think upon these things. Thou wilt keep thee in perfect peace, who keeps their mind stayed on Jesus.

  • #My soul hath them still in remembrance and is humbled in me. Lamentations 3;20

The Hebrew word for soul is Nephesh; meaning a living being or person. From Naphash; properly a breathing person is used verily in a literal accommodated or figurative sense. Ecclesiastes 4:2 Wherefore I praised the dead who are already more than the living who are yet alive. Solomon is aware of the soul, for after death the soul is more alive than the living, for the soul when you believe in Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior goes to heaven to be forever with the Lord. The body returns to the dust and is asleep, awaiting the glorified body in the first resurrection. The soul of the unbeliever goes to Hades, where it awaits eternal judgment at the Great White Throne Judgment where the books will be opened and all those whose names are not found in the Lamb Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire, this is the second death. Jeremiah is humbled in his soul for those who have perished and did not accept Jesus as their Savior. Now is the day of salvation. Your souls will live forever, as either in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ or in Hell in the Lake of Fire. Choose ye life, that ye and your seed may live. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Whosoever that calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

  • #Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. Lamentation 3:19

The Hebrew word for wormwood is Laanah; meaning Hemlock. From an unused root which means to curse; The Hebrew word for gall is Rosh; meaning a poisonous plant, the poppy; This all speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ hanging on Mount Calvary, for He became a curse for us on the tree. He fulfilled Genesis 3:15 As the seed of the woman that would bruise the head of the serpent, who is Satan. Thank God that Jesus did not come down from the cross, but He suffered death, as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Jeremiah 9:14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them. This is why Jesus had to suffer for us on the cross, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the LORD laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Let us praise the Lamb for He is worthy of all our praises. Revelation 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood and the third part of the waters became wormwood and many men died of the waters because they were made bitter. In the Great Tribulation God will judge the Christ-forsaking world with Wormwood, the star that will fall from heaven and cause the waters to become bitter. All this is because they did not receive the love of the truth, and they will receive strong delusion to believe the lies of the antichrist. The children of Israel played with idolatry and this is why God sent wormwood and gall to them. This is a warning to us as the Prophet Isaiah said who hath believed our report, and to whom hath the hand of the Lord appeared? Jesus was wounded for our transgressions, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes, we are healed. So if you do not want the bitter water of wormwood, then believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thine house.

  • #And when they have come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, doth not your master pay tribute? Matthew 17:24

April 15, 2024, is Federal Tax payday, and Jesus paid his taxes and told Peter to pay him as well. Peter responded to the tax collectors with a yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus confronted Peter, saying what thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their children, or strangers? Peter saith unto Him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, then are the children free? Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea and cast a hook and take up the fish that first comes up and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take and give unto them for Me and thee. The Hebrew word for tribute is Didrachmon; a double drachma or silver coin equal to two Attic drachmas or one Alexandrian, or half a shekel. We do not like to pay our taxes, but Jesus told us to render to Ceasar, that which is Ceasar's, and to God that which is God's. Jesus paid His taxes even though as a Son of King David, He did not owe any taxes, but lest they were offended He paid His taxes. God knows all things and that a fish would have tax money in his mouth for Peter to receive; this tells us how important it is for us to trust God in all things and as our Jehovah Jireh, He will provide the money necessary to pay our taxes. • #And I said, My strength and my hope has perished from the LORD: Lamentations 3:18

The Hebrew name for LORD is Jhvh; meaning the proper name for the God of Israel. Jehovah. From Hayah; the Self Existent or Eternal, Jehovah. The proper name is Yahweh. Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain. Jeremiah is devout and not taking the LORD Jehovah's name in vain. Jeremiah is describing how his strength has perished because he has been weeping and Jehovah God is our great comforter, who comforts us in all our troubles, yet Jeremiah feels like his strength is perished. We can understand when we lose a loved one to death, we are not to sorrowful as those who have no hope. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son so that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jeremiah feels like the Psalmist has said my soul thirsteth for God; for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears are my meat. day and night, while they say continually unto me, Where is thy God? Why art thou cast down O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.

  • #And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace; I forgat prosperity. Lamentations 3:17

The Hebrew word for prosperity; Towb; means pleasant good, and wealth. Daniel 1:4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well-favored and skillful in all wisdom and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king/s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. This is what the three Hebrew boys had, as God has removed the soul of the Israelites far off from peace, and Jeremiah forgat prosperity because of their idolatry. It is the Lord who gives us the ability to earn income and prosperity, It is not a sin to prosper, but if we fail to glorify God, as the people of Israel did, then God will judge us and remove our prosperity. But God will allow the wicked to prosper for a long time so that they can repent and turn to the Lord. Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. Psalm 73:1 Asap was perplexed at how long the wicked prospered, until he went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. So do not envy the wicked for God is a just God, giving mercy to whom He will give mercy, and judging those whom He will judge. King David said remove far from me vanity and lies, give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me. Proverbs 30:8

  • #He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. Lamentations 3:16

The Hebrew word for gravel is Chatsats; meaning something cutting, an arrow. Proverbs 20:17 Bread of deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward his mouth shall be filled with gravel. God always gets the last laugh for He that sits in the heavens will laugh at us when we think that the bread of deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward, his mouth shall be filled with something cutting. Therefore our words must be few, for God will hold us accountable for all of our words and they will be like gravel stones. A soft answer turns away wrath, so let your words be soft and filled with wisdom. Every purpose is established by counsel and with good advice makes war. In the multitude of counselors, there is safety. So seek the Lord for wise counsel and pray that He will send the right people into your life at the right time to make every purpose established.

  • #He hath filled me with bitterness,  he hath made me drunken with wormwood. Lamentations 3:15

The Hebrew word for wormwood is Laanah; meaning hemlock. From an unused root supposed to mean to curse; wormwood (regarded as poisonous, and therefore accursed) Amos 5:7,8 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood and leaves off righteousness in the earth. Seek Him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is His name. Jehovah God is the one we must seek with all our hearts and minds. For He alone is the One who can impart righteousness with the blood of Jesus. Let us call out Jehovah, Jehovah Almighty God fill us with your righteousness in Jesus's name Amen!

  • #I was a derision to all my people and their songs all day. Lamentations 3:14

The Hebrew word for derision is Sechoq; meaning laughter, and sport. Jeremiah 20:7 O LORD, thou hast deceived me and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me. Jeremiah has become the sport and laughter of all the people for preaching the truth to them. It reminds me of Paul asking the Galatians" Have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth?" We are as ministers often mocked for speaking the truth to the congregation, but Jeremiah feels like God has deceived him because He is stronger than him. We must not accuse Jehovah God of such a thing as He has told us forever His Word is settled in heaven.  We must speak the truth in love, and pray for the Word of God to land on good soil. We are not responsible for the gospel, for the Holy Spirit is the one who takes the things of Christ and makes them real to the people. We must be humble and repentant as we preach the word of God and look for God to move among His people as the Word of God is preached in demonstration and power. May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O Lord my redeemer.
