Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And He arose out of the synagogue and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever and they besought Him for her. And He stood over her and rebuked the fever and it left her and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. Luke 4:38,39                 He proves to Simon that He, Jesus is Jehovah Rapha, by calling the fever out of his mother-in-law and the fever was removed. Jesus demonstrated His love for the family by this healing and immediately the mother-in-law starts to serve them once she is healed. Families were together in Bible times like no other time in history. Let us seek to have this same togetherness in our families today, for all the mother-in-law jokes will go away.

  • #And in the synagogue there was a man which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, saying let us alone: what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art: the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him saying Hold thy peace and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him and hurt him not. Luke 4:33-35

The devil knows who Jesus is and tremble at Him, that is why Jesus told the unclean devil to hold his peace and come out of him. This tells us that the devils know of their impending judgment to hellfire and are afraid of Jesus, for He will cast them into the lake of fire when the judgment begins. We can learn that real faith has to be more than believing in Jesus, for even the devils believe and are afraid. True faith in Jesus leads to a changed life. As the people were amazed and spake among themselves saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power He commandeth the unclean spirits and they come out. The fame of Jesus went out into every place of the country round about.

  • #And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things were filled with wrath. Luke 4:27,28

Jesus has just insulted the religious leaders by telling them that only Naaman the Syrian was cleansed of leprosy despite all those in Israel who were not, meaning that the foreigners had more faith than the Israelites. This was a blow to the pride of the religious leaders and they grasped Him headlong seeking to throw Him down but Jesus escaped them. Faith is what moves the hand of God and even when foreigners have more faith than those in Israel God takes note of that. Jesus the Savior is the Messiah and there should be faith in Him, but despite that, they did not honor Him as the Messiah, for they considered Him to be the eligitimate son of Joseph. May we have faith in God and believe all that He has told us through the prophets. For without faith it is impossible to please God. Jesus pointed out the faith of the widow, a foreigner, and Naaman, a foreigner who had more faith than all those in Israel. Will Jesus point us out as foreigners who have more faith than those in Israel today? The Gentiles are the benefactors of the unbelief of the Jews today. There is a remnant of Jews today who say that He is the Messiah and look for Him to come again with healing in His wings. The wild olive shoot of the branch has been engrafted into the family of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are the descendants of Abraham by faith that God raised up of these stones that John the Baptist spoke about. Let us pray for our government to come together and open up for business so that the people will not have to suffer. We look forward to that day when the Government shall be on His shoulders and there will be justice for all. For God would have all men to come to the knowledge of the truth. Jesus is the truth that sets us free from the bondage of sin. I thank God for Jesus and that His truth will liberate the world from the current bondage of sin that it is in.

  • #And He said, Verily I say unto you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months when great famine was throughout all the land; But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Zarephath, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

Jesus quoted I Kings 17:9 about the widow of Zarephath that Elijah was sent to minister to because of her faith, because there were no widows with faith in Israel at that time, just as Jesus has stated no prophet is without honor save in his own country. Jesus is speaking for Himself because they refused to honor Him in Nazareth and without faith, it is impossible to please God. We must have faith in God, for if we had the faith of a mustard seed you could say to this mountain be cast into the sea and it would be done. Let us pray for the Lord to increase our faith in Him so that He will visit us. Let us give all the glory to Jesus for He alone is worthy of all our praises.

  • #And He closed the book and He gave it again to the minister and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him. And He began to say unto them, this day is the scripture fulfilled in your ears. Luke 4:20,21

Jesus having fulfilled scripture sat down and told the people in the synagogue today is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. The people wondered is not this Joseph's son? They did not understand that Jesus is telling them that He is the Messiah who should come and fulfill scripture. We have people today who still do not believe that the Messiah has come and looked for Him to come the first time. Jesus will come again this time as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  • #And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up and as His custom was, he went into the synagogue on the  Sabbath day and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Isaiah and when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:16-19

The Lord Jesus is preaching from Isaiah 61:1,2 on the Sabbath day which was His custom and He is led by the Spirit of God to fulfill prophecy. As that prophecy that He was reading from is about Him, for He is the Messiah who came to preach the gospel to the poor, deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind and it is the acceptable year of the Lord. Jehovah God has given the Son, Atonia the power to usher in the Kingdom of God, but He must first come as the suffering King who would die on the Cross, be buried and the third day be raised from the dead. That is the gospel that the poor needed to hear, for they could not find justice anywhere except by Jesus. Praise His name today for He is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven interceding for you and for me. Let whosoever will come to the water of life. Jesus is the only one who can quench the thirsting of our soul. Drink from Him and the water of eternal life will flow through your soul. Yes, Jesus has healed the brokenhearted and set at liberty those who are bruised by His death, burial, and resurrection.

  • #And Jesus returned to the power of the Spirit into Galilee and there went out a fame of Him through all the region round about. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. Luke 4:14,15

Jesus was ministered to by the angels after His victorious march through the wilderness in the power of the Holy Spirit. His fame spread as the glory of God was upon Him and He taught in the synagogues the scriptures. How I wish I could have been there to hear Him teach the word of God, as it would have been glorious, as on the Sabbath He would teach them the scriptures. Which tells us that Sabbath worship is very important as our Lord kept the Sabbath holy and we should too, even though we worship on the first day of the week. What does not defeat us makes us stronger, as Jesus has conquered the devil in all of his temptations and the angels ministered to Him preparing Him for His ministry on the road to the Cross. Jesus has the Cross in His vision as He knows via de la Rosa, the way of suffering is in store for Him. Jesus has taught us in the wilderness that a cross comes before a crown, suffering before victory, and humility before honor. So we must rejoice in all our suffering, for the Lord is preparing us for future glory. Therefore, these light and momentary afflictions are working an exceeding glory in us that is yet to be revealed. So keep the faith, stay in the fight, for the victory has been won.

  • #And he brought Him to Jerusalem and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple and said unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: For it is written, He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone, And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Luke 4:9-12

The devil quotes Psalm 91:11,12 but takes it out of context. Jesus uses another Rhema word of God said Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. For Jesus is the Lord God, as the Son of God and He is not to be put to the test to prove that He is God. We see this about the devil that he knows the word of God, so it should not surprise us that he can take scripture out of context to twist it to meet his diabolical desires. We must beware of people that quote scriptures but do not live by them, for blessed are the hearers and doers of the word of God. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my pathway. Hide the word of God in your heart so that you might not sin against God. Jesus is victorious in all three of the temptations of the devil. And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from Him for a season. This tells us that there are seasons of temptations in our lives that the devil comes to us, so we need to be prayed up and read up on the word of God so that we will have a Rhema word from God to defeat the devil. May the Lord prepare our hearts this season of the New Year and focus on the challenges that are ahead for us. I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength. Always put God first in your life and He will give you the strength to face what challenge there is, for He never gives us more than we can bear.

  • #And the devil taking Him up into a high mountain shewed unto Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto Him, All this power I will give thee and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me and to whomsoever, I will give it. If thou, therefore, wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve. Luke 4:5-8

Did you not know that Adam handed all these kingdoms over to Satan in the Garden of Eden when he disobeyed the Lord. So the devil is using his ill-gotten gains to try to tempt the Lord Jesus. Jesus did not dispute that the devil had that power, He simply uses another Rhema word of the Lord that it is written, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve. The first Adam failed to worship the Lord God in the Garden of Eden in a moment of disobedience and handed over the kingdoms of this world to the devil. Jesus the last Adam is worshipping the Lord God by denying the devil his temptation. Thank God Jesus has taught us how to defeat the devil at his own game. Jesus uses what Jehovah God has given Him in worship to beat the devil and his temptation that he used on Adam in the Garden of Eden. Jesus the last Adam is victorious and glorious in victory because He worships God. We too can be victorious when we worship the Lord God also. So go worship the Lord today in the fellowship of the saints at Church and give God all the glory for what He is doing in your life. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, for Jesus is worthy of all of our praises. Celebrate Martin Luther King weekend by remembering the dream. God wants Jews and Gentiles to praise the name of Jesus. Be a servant of God and follow the way of peace and holiness with all men. Choose the way of peace and non-violence for change in the world today. Thank God one day the Prince of Peace will come back and set up His Kingdom in Jerusalem, the eternal Capital of Israel. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God.

  • #And the devil said unto Him if thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:3,4

The devil deals with His physical need for food, knowing the Jesus is hungry after not eating forty days. Jesus knowing the scriptures quotes Deut. 8:3 that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Jesus is the Son of God, as the devil trying to make it look like if He was the Son of God, command the stone to become bread. Jesus does not have to prove His deity, for He is the Son of God, that is why the devil has no chance to succeed in tempting Him. This is the principle for us to overcome the temptation to quote scripture. For when the devil comes to us, there is something in us to tempt us, so we must use a Rhema word from God to be successful. The Rhema word is the sword of the Spirit which is our offensive weapon to use against the devil.
