Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And to the angel of the church of Philadelphia write; these things saith He that hath the key of David, He that openeth and no man shutteth and shutteth and no man openeth. I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength and hast kept my word and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews and are not, but lie, behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God and he shall go no more out and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 3:7-13

    • Jesus has only words of commendation for this church as He has set before them an open door that no man can shut. He shuts a door that no man can open. Thou hast a little strength and hast kept my word and hast not denied my name. So He will make those of the synagogue of Satan come and worship before thy feet and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will keep thee from the hour of temptation that shall come upon the whole world in the great tribulation. This is the missionary church that uses the open door to get the gospel out and therefore will receive a great reward. Therefore, behold I come quickly, hold that fast which thou hast that no man can take your crown. Then Jesus promises those that overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple and write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem which cometh down out of heaven. Therefore, let him that hath an ear hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
  • #And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; these things saith He that hath the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest and art dead. Be watchful and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard and hold fast and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father and before His angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 3:1-6

    • Jesus commends a few in Sardis who have not defiled their garments, but He rebukes those in Sardis for having a name that they live and are dead. Therefore He tells them to strengthen the things which remain and are ready to die, for I have not found thy works perfect before God. As God demands perfection and He has not called us to uncleanness, but unto holiness. He tells them to remember how thou hast received and heard and hold fast and repent. He warns them to watch or He will come to them as a thief does not warn of his coming. Therefore brethren we are not in darkness, that the day of the Lord should come upon you as a thief. If the good man of the house had known what hour the thief would come he would have watched. So be ye also ready for the Son of God will come at an hour when ye think not. Feed the flock of God so that He will not catch you ashamed of His coming. To be an overcomer means that Jesus will confess your name before the Father and His angels. Also, you will walk in white raiment and your name will not be blotted out of the book of life. What a reward that will be for those who receive it, so watch how you walk as wise redeeming the time for the days are evil. Consider yourselves as eleventh-hour workers in the vineyard and watch as well as pray that ye will be worthy to enter in the kingdom of God.
  • #And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write: these things saith the Son of God who hath His eyes like unto a flame of fire, and His feet are like fine brass: I know thy works and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel which calleth herself a prophetess to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death and all the churches shall know that I am He which searches the reins and hearts and I will give unto each of you according to your works. But unto you, I say and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not known the depths of Satan,  as they speak I will put upon you none other burdens. But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end to him will I give power over the nations and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches. Revelation 2:18-29

    • Jesus commends the church in Thyatira but then He rebukes them for suffering that woman Jezebel that calls herself a prophetess to teach and to seduce my servants to commit sexual immorality. He gave her space to repent and He will put a woman in a bed and all those that commit adultery with her into great tribulation. To those who have not known the depths of Satan, He will put on them no other burden. Therefore those that overcome will rule the nations with a rod of iron, as Jesus shall rule over the nations in the kingdom of God. And He shall give the morning star also to them. So those that have an ear hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. All the churches will know when He kills her children with death that I am He that searches the hearts, so repent of your deeds before the Lord judges thee.
  • #And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write these things saith He which hath the sharp sword with two edges: I know thy works and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is and thou holdest fast my name and hast not denied my faith even in the days when Antipas was my faithful martyr who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. But I have a few things against thee because thou hast them that hold to the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Belac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent or else I will come unto thee quickly and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna and will give him a white stone and in the stone, a new name written which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.  Revelation 2:12-17

Jesus commends Pergamos for their faith in the days when Antipas my faithful martyr was slain, but He rebukes them for committing sexual immorality and allowing those that hold to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. He told them to repent or He would fight against them with the Word of God. Then He told those who would overcome I will give a new name and they shall eat of the hidden manna, as well as a white stone which no man would know except him that receives it. This was quite an honor to receive.

  • #And unto the angel of the church of Smyrna write: These things saith the first and the last which was dead and is alive. I know thy works and tribulations and poverty: ( but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried and ye shall have tribulation ten days be thou faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches: He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Revelation 2:8-11

    • Jesus has the only commendation for the church of Smyrna, for they are poor in material wealth, but rich in spiritual wealth. The devil will cast some into prison and ye shall have tribulation for ten days: be thou faithful unto death and ye shall receive the crown of life is a promise given to this church for the suffering under Nero that they suffered.  What a glory will be given to this church and they will not suffer from the second death, which is reserved for those in the Lake of fire for all eternity. The crown of life is the victor's crown for all the suffering they shall endure. So listen to the Spirit and be comforted by all that He has to say he that has an ear. This crown of life is given to those who are also victorious over temptation in James 1:12 as well as those who are faithful to death. So do not fear any of the things which ye will suffer.

  • #Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write, these things said he that holdeth the seven stars in His right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works and thy labor and thy patience and how thou canst not bear them which are evil and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles and are not  and has found them to be liars, and hast has borne and hast patience  and for my name's sake hast labored and hast not fainted. Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen and repent and do the first works or else I will come unto thee quickly and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, thou repent. Revelation 2:1-5

Jesus commends the church in Ephesus for all the good things they were doing, but there was one thing that He rebuked them for. They had left their first love. He said repent from whence you have fallen or I will remove your candlestick. We must spend time with God everyday walking and obey His word. We love Him because He first loved us. Do not let any sin have dominion over me so that my love for you will be constant.  Then pray to God every day so that my love will grow stronger for God every day.

  • #And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man clothed with a garment down to the foot and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow and His eyes were a flame of fire. And His feet like unto brass as if they burned in a furnace and His voice as the sound of many waters. And He had in His right hand seven stars and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword. And His countenance was as the sun shineth in His strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth and was dead and behold I am alive for evermore. Amen and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou sawest in my right hand and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. Revelation 1:12-20

John saw the risen Savior the Lord Jesus Christ in all of His glory this is what He will look like when we see Him for all of eternity. Jesus stands in the midst of the seven churches with a sharp two-edged sword. The Word of God is the two-edged sword that He uses to judge the churches. He holds the keys to hell and death since He has risen from the dead. John is told to write what he has seen and the mystery of the seven stars which are the angels which are the messengers of the seven churches. The candlesticks are the seven churches that the angels preach to. Jesus is the one Mediator between God and man and He is seated on the right hand of the Father in heaven. Making intercession for you and for me so that we will be able to stand before Him on the last day.

  • #I John, who also am your brother and companion in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last and what thou seest, write in a book and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philidelphia, and unto Laodicea. Revelation 1:9-11

    • John the Apostle is exiled on the Isle of Patmos for the tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ receives this revelation from the angel of God to write in a book, called Revelation, which is the Apocalypse. This is on the Lord's Day, which is Sunday when he is writing this book, and he is told to write to the seven churches in Asia in the Spirit. The great voice as a trumpet that he heard is the Lord Jesus Christ who is inspiring him to write these things. Revelation is the only apocalyptic book in the New Testament. This book is such a blessing to all those who read it. So just pray to the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and your understanding as we walk through the book of Revelation. The unveiling of this book will allow us to see Jesus in all of His glory.
  • #Behold, He cometh with clouds and every eye shall see Him and them also which pierced Him and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come the Almighty. Revelation 1:7,8

    • Jesus is coming back on the clouds, which are His chariots, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. All races of the earth will wail because of Him. They will wish they had believed in Him. For He is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning of the Greek alphabet and the ending.
  • #John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you and peace from Him which is and which was and which is to come and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne. And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness and first-begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him, that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood. And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever Amen. Revelation 1:4-6

    • We have the outline of the book of Revelation: Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come. This speaks of the coming of Jesus into the world as the Babe in the manger and then His dying on the Cross and rising from the Grave, and His ascension to the Right hand of the Father from which He will come again. John is writing to the seven churches in Asia, who are the kings and priests because they have been washed in the Blood of Jesus on the Cross. Then John gives the doxology of Jesus to Him be glory and dominion forever Amen. We are just getting started with the Revelation of Jesus Christ so get excited about the study of this blessed book.
