Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Let death seize upon them and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwelling and among them. As for me, I will call upon God and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon, will I pray and cry aloud and he shall hear my voice. He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me. God shall hear and afflict them, even he that of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but a war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. Cast thy burden upon the LORD and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. But thou, O God, shall bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in thee. Psalm 55:15-23

Jehovah shall sustain all those that cast their burden upon the Lord and He shall not suffer the righteous to be moved. So trust in the Lord forever and cast all of your burdens upon the Lord.

  • #Lo then would I wander far off and remain in the wilderness. Selah. I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest. Destroy O Lord and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city. Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it. Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets. For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me: then I would have hidden from him. But it was thou a man mine equal, my guide and mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together and walked into the house of God in the company. Psalm 55:7-14

Our prayer is with the family of the late great President George H.W. Bush in his passing. He was truly a great friend of everyone and will be missed. I thank God for his life and great service to this country.

  • #Give ear to my prayer, O God and hide not thyself from my supplication. Attend unto me and hear me: I mourn in my complaint and make a noise; Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me and in wrath they hate me. My heart is sorely pained within me and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me and horror hath overwhelmed me. And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away and be at rest. Psalm 55:1-6

David prayed to the Lord O God and hide not thyself from my supplication. He cries out for God to hear him, for I mourn in my complaint and make a noise. The scripture tells us to make a joyful noise before the Lord. God is ever present in our time of trouble, even as the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Then he cries out that if I had the wings like a dove for then would I fly away and be at rest. The dove is the example of peace and rest, so David gives the key for us to be at rest in the Lord.

  • #Save me O God, by thy name and judge me by thy strength. Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. For strangers are risen up against me and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O God; for it is good. For He hath delivered me out of all trouble and my eye hath seen His desire upon mine enemies. Psalm 54:1-7

David is saved from Saul by God the judge and my strength. God heard the prayer of David and gave ear to the words of his mouth. Then David said I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O God; for it is good. For He hath delivered me out of all trouble and my eye hath seen His desire upon mine enemies. Who is like unto God most high that delivers His servants from those too strong for them.

  • #The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no not one. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God. There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put him to shame because God hath despised them. Oh that the salvation of Israel has come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of His people Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad. Psalm 53: 1-6

The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. This is the sad state of man without God, for corrupt are they and have done abominable sins. There is none that doeth good, no not one. Oh that the salvation of Israel has come out of Zion! for Christ shall come with ten thousand of His angels to execute judgment on all those who do not believe. So believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house.

  • #Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. Thou lovest evil more than good and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, He shall take thee away and pluck thee out of the land of the living. Selah. The righteous also shall see and fear and shall laugh at him: Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise thee for ever because thou hast done it and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints. Psalm 52:1-9

God is to be praised and I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. O praise the Lord and wait on thy name for it is good before thy saints. Be not like the wicked man who trusts in his riches, for he and they shall perish. Blessed is the man that makes the Lord his strength and trusts in Him forever and ever.

  • #Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. O Lord, open thou my lips and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. Psalm 51:11-19

King David ends this prayer of confession with cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. He had lost the joy of his salvation, but not his salvation. This is what happens when we sin against God. That is why we must be quick to repent and offer the prayer of confession. The Holy Spirit would be taken from an old testament saint who sinned and failed to repent. That is why he prayed not to take the Spirit from me. We are blessed with the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit therefore, we do not have to pray that He not be taken from us.

  • #Behold, I was shaped in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts and in the hidden part thou shalt make me know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:5-10

King David acknowledges he was conceived in iniquity and in sin his mother conceived him. Then he prayed to create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me. This is the ultimate prayer of repentance.

  • #Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according to unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest and clear when thou judgest. Psalm 51:1-4

King David is pouring out his heart in sorrow before a holy God because of his sin with Bathsheba and his appeals to the mercy of God is complete. He prays to wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgression and my sin is ever before me. He knows that against God only have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight. Thus he knows that God is justified when thou speakest and clear when thou judgest. This serves as a mighty example of how to repent of one's sins before a holy God who is able to forgive and save to the uttermost those that come unto Him. It is my prayer that we will come before God with our contrition and repent so that we too can find forgiveness from our sins.

  • #And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me. But unto the wicked God saith, what hast thou to do to declare my statutes or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction and castest my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentest with him and hast been partakers with adulterers., Thou givest thy mouth to evil and thy tongue frameth deceit. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. These things hast thou done and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: but I will reprove thee and set them in order before thine eyes. Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces and there be none to deliver. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Psalm 50:15-23

Call upon God in the day of trouble and He will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify Him. Consider this whoso offereth praise glorifieth God and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will God shew the salvation of Jehovah God. So make sure that you do not forget God, but turn to Him with your whole heart and He will hear thee in the hour of trouble.
