Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. How he had wrought his signs in Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zoan: And had turned their rivers into blood and their floods, that they could not drink. He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them and frogs, which destroyed them. He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar and their labor unto the locust. He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycomore trees with frost. He gave up their cattle also to hail and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death but gave their life over to the pestilence. Psalm 78:40-50

We must be careful not to forget God, how he delivered Israel from all their enemies. For God is a jealous God, visiting the sins of the fathers to the children unto the third generation, but showing mercy to those that keep His commandments. Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey.

  • #Therefore their days did He consume in vanity and their years in trouble. When He slew them, then they sought Him and they returned and enquired early after God. And they remembered that God was their rock and the high God their redeemer. Nevertheless, they did flatter him with their mouth and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him neither were they steadfast in his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not yea many a time turned He His anger away and did not stir up all His wrath. For, He remembered that they were but flesh and wind that passeth away and cometh not again. Psalm 78:33-39

We must be careful not to presume upon the grace of God even though His mercy is everlasting, His patience is not. Let the wicked man forsake his ways and sinners their thoughts. Our God is a forgiving God and loves us with an everlasting love.

  • #Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full. He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven and by his power, He brought in the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them as dust and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: And He let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. So they did eat and were well filled: for He gave them their own desire; They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them and smote down the chosen men of Israel. For all this, they sinned still and believed not for His wondrous works. Therefore their days did He consume in vanity and their years in trouble. Psalm 78:25-33

The wrath of God came upon them, yet they still were not estranged from their lust. This shows us if the blessings of God will not cause you to praise Him, then His wrath will not change you either. This is why during the tribulation despite the wrath of God, men still will not repent of their murders, sorcery, stealing, or fornication. So you had better repent now for the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

  • #He clave the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as out of great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock and caused waters to run like rivers. And they sinned yet more against Him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat in their lust. Yea, they spake against God; they said can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, He smote the rock that the waters gushed out and the streams overflowed; can He give bread also? can He provide flesh for His people? Therefore the LORD heard this and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob and anger also came up against Israel; Because they believed not in God and trusted not in His salvation: Though He had commanded the clouds from above and opened the doors of heaven, And had rained down manna upon them to eat and had given them of the corn of heaven. Psalm 78:15-24

Happy Valentine's Day, as God has demonstrated His love for us in that while we were sinners Christ died for us. Let us not forget Jehovah or His great love for His people as Jacob did by tempting God. Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God but shall love Him with all thy heart, mind, and soul.

  • #That they might set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright and whose spirit was not steadfast, with God. The children of Ephraim being armed and carrying bows turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God and refused to walk in His law; And forgot His works and His wonders that He shewed them. Marvelous things did He in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the sea and caused them to pass through and He made the waters to stand as a heap. In the daytime also He led them with a cloud and all the night with a light of a fire. Psalm 78:7-14

The children of Ephraim for God how he brought them and their fathers out of the land of Egypt, as well as divided the sea, by causing them to pass through the waters as they stood as a heap. We too must not forget God and His goodness to us in the land of the living.

  • #Give ear O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old. Which we have heard and known and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come to the praises of the LORD and His strength and His wonderful works that He hath done. For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel which He commanded our fathers that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children. Psalm 78:1-6

This Psalm is about the Lord Jesus Christ who would open His mouth in parables and He told the disciples it is for you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom. So that is why He spoke a parable to make known the Kingdom of God to the disciples.

  • #Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled. The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad. The voice of thunder was in heaven: the flashes of lightning lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook. Thy way is in the sea and thy path in the great waters and thy footsteps are not known. Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. Psalm 77:15-20

Praise God that redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah. The great lover of our souls, for thou, did show the lightning in the heavens and the earth trembled and shook. Who is like unto thee O God, for thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron. We praise the for thou did send thy Son to go to the cross to pay our sin debt. Thank Thee, O God, for thou alone are worthy of all our praises.

  • #Is His mercy clean gone forever? doth His promise fail for evermore? Has Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah And I said, this is my infirmity but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High I will meditate also of all thy work and talk of thy doings. Thy way, O God is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. Psalm 77:8-14

Thy way, O God is in the sanctuary, who is so great a God as our God? the answer is no one and we learn that dwelling in the sanctuary of our God forever. For, His right hand is all powerful and He is the most high God. Thank God for his mercy endures to all generations. Most worthy is His name to be praised in the sanctuary. O love the Lord with all thy heart, mind, soul, and strength. This is the first commandment and the second is like unto it, that thou love thy neighbor as thyself. When we do this we are keeping all the law and the commandments.

  • #I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice and He gave ear unto me. In the day of my trouble, I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God and was troubled: I complained and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. Thou holdest my eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak. I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. I called to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with my own heart and my spirit made a diligent search. Will the Lord cast off forever? and will He be favorable no more? Psalm 77:1-7

This is the fifth psalm of Asaph and he has learned the secret of dwelling in the sanctuary of God and now he is crying out to God in the night. His soul ceased not to cry to God who holds his waking eyes and he said I am so troubled I cannot speak. He had a song in the night season and communed with his own heart while his spirit made a diligent search. What a blessing for us to be able to pray to the Lord God without ceasing. For God is near unto the broken hearted.

  • #Thou, even thou, art to be feared and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? Thou didst cause judgment to be heard in heaven: the earth feared and was still, When God arose to judgment, to save the meek of the earth. Selah.  Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shall thou restrain. Vow and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about Him bring presents unto Him that ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes: He is terrible to the kings of the earth. Psalm 76:7-12

Jehovah God is to be feared, for He shall cause the wrath of man to praise thee: the remainder of wrath shall thou restrain. Therefore, pay unto Jehovah thy vow. Let all that be round about Him bring presents unto Him that ought to be feared. That is why the Magi brought presents to the Babe, Lord Jesus.
