Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. I Cor. 3:8,9

We are considered to be farmers of God planting seeds and watering them. We must be careful that we do not worship men, but be followers of God for we are his building. The preacher is nothing but a servant of God to lead men and women to Christ through the preaching of the gospel. God will reward us for our faithfulness to the task.

  • #I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watered, but God that giveth the increase. I Cor. 3:6,7

Paul has stated that he plants the word of God in his preaching, while Apollos has been appointed to water what has been planted, but it is God who gives the increase. So neither is the person who plants greater or least, but it is God who must be praised because He alone gives the increase.

  • #And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto Babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk and not with meat; for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul and another, I am of Apollos: are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I Cor. 3:1-5

Paul wanted to preach to the Corinthians as spiritual, but they were carnal, for there were some who were attached to Apollos. So they were fed milk and not meat; for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. Meat is for the mature who know right from wrong and exercise themselves into righteousness. So Paul said who then is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? For Apollos preached the Baptism of John and was not as Paul preached the doctrines of Christ. We must be followers of Christ and not of men.

  • #But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. I Cor.2:14-16

The natural man does not understand the Spirit of God, for they are spiritually discerned. Thank God that he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. Therefore we should judge ourselves so that we will not be judged. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Let this mind be in you, who thought it not robbery to be equal with God, who made himself of no reputation but humbled himself. Thank God for Jesus who is our greatest example of how to be like him, since we have the mind of Christ.

  • #Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. I Cor.2:13

27 years ago I was called into the ministry and preached my trial sermon on Jonah: A Rendevous with Destiny and it was done by the power of the Holy Spirit. Comparing spiritual things with spiritual, as I was filled with the Holy Spirit. I thank God that many souls have been blessed as a result of my calling into the ministry. Prayer is needed for those in tropical storm Emelda, as a flash flood emergency has been issued to southeast Texas. Thank God for the Rainbow, which promises He will not flood the world again. He did not say communities would not be flooded. We must continue to praise God in the storm, not in words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches us.

  • #For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so, the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Forthwith we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. I Cor. 2:11,12

The Paraclete knows the things of God and not the spirit of man, but the Spirit of God. Forthwith we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God. Jesus said just before the cross, I will not leave you as orphans, for I will send you the comforter who will be in you, as well as upon you, the Paraclete. Thank God that he is with us always, even unto the ends of the world. So the world knows us not, but the Spirit of God knows us and guides us into all truth.

  • #But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. I Cor. 2:9,10

It has been written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Heaven is the most beautiful place that God has prepared for them that love him and no eye has ever seen just how beautiful it is, only God, who reveals them to us by his Spirit.

  • #And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man's wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to naught: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. I Cor. 2:1-8

My brothers and sisters, our faith is not to stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor the princes of this world, that come to naught: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery. When this word is used it comes from the Greek word Mysterion which had never been revealed before. Hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which, none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Satan did not know that by crucifying Jesus, he was cutting off his own head and fulfilling the scripture that said the seed of the woman would cut off the head of the serpent. Thank God that we serve a risen Savior in the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • #Because, the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world and things which are despised, hath God has chosen, yea and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But in him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: That, according to as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. I Cor. 1:25-31

For ye see your calling brothers, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God in his wisdom has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. This is done so that no flesh can glory in his presence. But in him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: God has done this so that he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. So be careful not to exalt yourself, but humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and he will exalt thee in due time.

  • #For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. I Cor. 1:19-24
