Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. For we are glad when we are weak and ye are strong and this and this also we wish even your perfection. II Cor. 13:8-9

We are set free by the truth, as Jesus said ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. So we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth. Thank God ye are strong when we are weak. We wish even your perfection, as we wait on the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to give us our glorified bodies in the first resurrection. The world is isolating because of the coronavirus but we Christians are glorifying God for sanctifying us through his Spirit. So worry about nothing and pray about everything giving thanksgiving to God. We will be filled with the peace of God, He will keep him in perfect peace who keeps his mind on his Word. So read the Word of God and meditate on it continually for peace.

  • #Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye, not your own selves, how that Christ Jesus is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should be approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we are as reprobates. II Cor. 13:5-7

Paul is telling the church to examine themselves to see if they are in the faith. We know the Spirit testifies to our spirit that we are the children of God so that we can know that we are indeed in Jesus Christ. and not reprobates. Then he says I pray to God that you do no evil, but that you should do that which is honest before God and man. Even though others will think of us as reprobates, they will see by our works that we are approved before God.

  • #For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they but we ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:18-23

It is painful to see the crash of the stock market, but there is a worse crash coming than this. The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in us. We are seeing the birth pains of the whole creation waiting for the redemption of our bodies,  for the Lord will come and redeem us the firstfruits of the  Spirit. As we groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit the redemption of our body into the glorious son of God. This time here on earth is about to come to an end and we are going to see the glorious coming of the kingdom of God. For the Lord, himself shall descend from heaven with healing in his wings and deliver the whole creation from the suffering of this present day. Lookup for your redemption draweth nigh.

  • #This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. I told you before and foretell you as if I were present the second time and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned and to all other, that if I come again, I will spare: Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you. For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For, we were also weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. II Cor. 13:1-4

Paul is giving the principle for Christian witness that in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. He warned those that sinned that he would not spare them a second time. Christ was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. We too also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. I am asking prayers for my daughter Rebekah who has a cyst on her placenta that is being investigated if it is cancerous, that God will heal her. Thank God for her for she is one year from being complete with her residency in Anesthesiology. Now by His stripes, we are healed and He sent His word and healed them of all their diseases.

  • #Did I make a gain of you by any of them whom I sent unto you? I desired Titus and with him, I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps? Again, think we that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ, but we do all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying. For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall find you such as I would and that I shall be found unto to you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. II Cor. 12:17-21

Paul is concerned about the church in Corinth so he sent Titus and another brother unto them who walked in the same spirit as he did. We speak before you in God in Christ and all these things were for your edifying. Yet Paul feared that when he would come, he would find the church had sinned and not repented of their debates, envying, wraths, strifes, backbitings, gossiping, swellings and tumults. It is amazing how he had to bewail some as God humbled him of those that sinned and repented not of their uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. This sin is still rampant in the churches today and with the coronavirus going around it is a real shame for the church to be walking in impurity today. May God use this as a wake-up call for the people to turn to God in repentance and walk-in faith as well as love for the brethren.  Happy Purim Day to all our Jewish brothers and sisters in Christ.

  • #And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. But be it so, I did not burden you; nevertheless, being crafty, I caught with guile. II Cor 12:15-16

Paul spent himself on the church more abundantly and loved them sincerely, yet he did not feel the love in return. Nevertheless, he was not a burden to the church but being crafty, he caught them with guile. We too can learn much from this experience from Paul and love deeply, even though we may not receive that same love in return. Our Lord came unto his own and they received him not. Yet too as many that did receive him became the sons of God.

  • #Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. II Cor. 12:14

This verse is perplexing as Paul does not want to be a burden to the Church and then he says the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. Clearly he is talking about money and support. Parents have a responsibility before God to lay up monetary support for their children, rather than the children for the parents. God said if a man will not provide for his household, he has denied the faith. So leaving a legacy for our children is a very important task that we have as parents. Not just money, but also a spiritual legacy of following God all our lives. We must read the word of God to our children and teach them the importance of keeping the commandments. This is how we lay up treasures for them that will not be taken away. Money can be taken away, but your spiritual gifts such as love, peace, joy, patience, meekness, faithfulness, and self-control will last forever. When parents do this they will not be a burden to their children, but a joy for leaving them a legacy that will not pass away.

  • #Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I am nothing.  Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds. For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong. II Cor. 12:10-13

Paul learned the importance of taking pleasure in his infirmities, for then the power of Christ was manifested more in him, than the other apostles. He found that when he was weak, then he was strong and became a fool in glorying. Yet he considered himself in nothing behind the very chiefest apostles. Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among the churches in all patience, wonders, and mighty deeds. He did not want to be a burden to the churches and asked them to forgive him. I am sure his thorn in the flesh was a hindrance to the churches, but God used it for his glory in bringing many saints to heaven. We can be thankful that half of the New Testament was written by Paul for this reason and truly the grace of God was mightily upon him for that.

  • #And I knew such a man, (whether in the body or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Of such a one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory but in mine infirmities. For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth, but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing, I sought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. II Cor. 12:3-9

Paul was caught up into paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful to utter. So he learned to glory in his infirmities. For though I would desire to glory, he would not be a fool, so he would forbear, lest any man would think of him above that he heareth him to be. So lest he should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given a thorn in the flesh. We do not know what that was, maybe demonic attacks, or so nevertheless, he sought the Lord three times, that it might depart from me. And Jesus said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. We too can have a thorn in the flesh. I have a mental illness, which is a thorn in the flesh for me and I have experienced the grace of God in my life. Truly the strength of God is made perfect in my illness and I will glory in my illness, that the power of Christ may continually rest upon me.

  • #I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such a one caught up to the third heaven. II Cor.12:2

Paul is the first person in the Bible to have an experience of being caught up into the third heaven to come back to talk about it. He did not know if he was in the body or out of the body, but God knows all things. This caught up is the same word we get for Rapture, as millions of Christians will be caught up into heaven to forever be with the Lord. The difference is the Lord will meet us in the air and the dead in Christ will be resurrected first, then all those who are alive and remain will be changed, in the twinkling of an eye to ever be with the Lord. Paul clearly was not changed physically, but he is forever changed spiritually after this experience. The question is does this happen to anyone today? There have been books written about people who have died and gone to heaven, to come back to life to tell us about it and I will not say that it cannot happen. Yet clearly what happened to Paul was real and inspired by God for us to know that this can happen and we look forward to the day when it will happen in the Rapture of the Church to heaven.
