Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort when I know your state. Phil. 2:19

Paul has no one as loyal as Timotheus to send to the Philippians so that he can be comforted knowing that they are being fed the Word of life. What a blessing Timotheus was to Paul and no wonder he was comforted in the Lord for the great work that he was doing in the church. We can learn from this example that it is important to be faithful in the service of the Lord. Lord forgive us for not being completely faithful, help us to repent and do the first works. Thank God that He is the God of the second chance and we give you all the glory. Forgetting what is behind I press for the upward way in Jesus Christ the Messiah.

  • #Yea and if I am offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all. For the same cause also do ye joy and rejoice with me. Phil. 2:17,18

Paul rejoices to be offered upon the service and sacrifice of the saints. What a joy, for to live is Christ and to die is gain. We joy with others when we share in the same sufferings. For this cause rejoice in the Lord and again I say rejoice forever more. By Faith unto faith.

  • #That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Phil. 2:15,16

Paul wanted the believers at Philippi that hold forth the word of life so that he did not labor in vain, and to shine as lights in the world in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. The goal is that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, which should be every believer's desire. What powerful words these are as I preached a sermon on this passage and it brought life to the congregation that heard it. That is what we as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are here to do. To stand in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ to hear those words well done good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord. The opposite will be heard of those who do not hold forth the word of life, I never knew you, depart from me ye workers of iniquity. I pray that no one reading this Blog will fail to hold forth the word of life, for it is my joy to present the word of life as clearly as the Holy Spirit will allow me to.

  • #Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Phil. 2:12

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Therefore work out your salvation with fear and trembling. For God would have all men to be saved. Do all things without murmuring and disputings. For blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.

  • #Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Phil. 2:9-11

Praise God that one day every eye shall see Him and every knee should bow, as well as every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Do it now, and you will be saved for all eternity.

  • #But made himself of no reputation and took upon Him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even death on the cross. Phil. 2:7,8

Jesus Christ is the perfect example for us, as He made Himself of no reputation, became a servant, since He was made in the likeness of men: He humbled Himself by being obedient unto death, even the shameful death on the cross. Now we must worship Him as our Lord and Savior. We are without excuse, therefore let us praise Him forevermore. For He alone is worthy of our praises.

  • #Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus; who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God; Phil. 2:5,6

Paul is telling all believers to have the mind of Christ, which is what we are to do being in the form of God, who did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. This is how Christ indwells every believer in the form of the Holy Spirit. What a privilege to be equal with God my brothers and sisters. So we need to count it pure joy to be in the form of God.

  • #If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord of the mind. Phil. 2:1,2

Paul is thankful to suffer for Christ and enjoys the company of sufferers in the Lord Jesus Christ. For there is a comfort of love in Christ and a fellowship, as well as a fellowship of the Spirit. And we fulfil the joy by being like-minded. Being of one accord of one mind is the blessing of the Lord. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. This is the sign of being filled with the Spirit. Look not every man on his own things, but every man on the things of others. Glory be to God on high for He alone is worthy of all our praises.

  • #For unto you it is given on behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him but also to suffer for His sake; Having the same conflict which ye saw in me and now hear to be in me. Phil. 1:29,30

Paul wants the believers at Phillipi to know that just as they saw him suffer on behalf of Christ, they too would have to suffer. Did you not know, that there is a fellowship of suffering and when we see others suffer for Christ, we take comfort in suffering also. So do not think it strange that you will suffer for the sake of Christ, for it is for our good that we are called to suffer. That is why Paul and Timotheus could endure the trials that they endured knowing it shall be worth it all when we see Jesus Christ. It will be pure joy to hear the Savior say, well done good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord.

  • #Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation and that of God. Phil. 1:27,28

Paul is challenging the believers in Phillipi to strive with one spirit and one mind together for the gospel of Christ. This is the prayer of the saints to work together in the unity of the spirit endeavoring to keep the peace. What a lofty goal, for the Bible, says when a man's ways are right with the Lord, even His enemies are at peace with him. This is the peace that passes human understanding, for thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusts in thee. So thank God for your troubles for they work together for the good of those who love the Lord. For this is our salvation, Christ in you the hope of glory. Never be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God to those who believe and are saved.
