Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to the ordinances, (Touch not; taste not handle not; Which all are to perish with the usings;) after the commandments and doctrine men?  Col.2:20-22

We are dead to sin and risen with Christ, from the rudiments of the world, let us march in the victory we have in Jesus.

  • #Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Col. 2:18,19

Paul was concerned that the believers did not get tricked into losing their reward by voluntarily worshipping angels or vainly being puffed up in their fleshly mind. So it is important to be rooted and grounded in the Word of God. Holding forth the Word of life and their shield of faith. Also being knit together in love would keep them completely in their faith.

  • #Let no man, therefore, judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is Christ. Col. 2:16,17

Paul is exhorting the Colossian Christians to not be legalistic, for our freedom is in Christ, therefore, we were judged at the Cross, and all those things that were against us were blotted out of the way. We live in the shadow of the Cross. We are hidden in Christ and the body of sin has been judged, so let no man, therefore, judge thee.

  • #Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way nailing it to His cross; and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Col. 2:14,15

Thank God that Jesus nailed all the handwriting of the ordinances that was against us to the cross and triumphed completely over them now we are accepted in the Beloved Lord Jesus Christ because of it. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus the Lord.

  • #Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye have risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead. Col. 2:12

We have been buried with Christ in baptism by God who raised Him from the dead. Now we can seek those things in heaven that are risen with Christ by faith. So now brothers and sisters let us rise from the dead with Christ too so we can live victoriously by faith in God.

  • #For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power: Col. 2:9,10

Thank God for in Jesus Christ all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily and we are complete in Him, so give God all the glory. For He is the head of all principality and power. Thank God it pleased the Father to send His Son in the likeness of man to die on the cross so that we could be at peace with Him through the blood of His cross. Now we are accepted in the Beloved because of what He did for us.

  • #For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you and for them at Laodicea and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God and of the Father and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2:1-3

Paul is concerned that the believers be steadfast in their faith in Christ in Laodicea even though they did not see his face he was with them in spirit. True riches is Christ in you the hope of glory. That was the mystery hid from the ages made known to them by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • #Whom we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. Col. 1:28,29

Paul had a goal to present every man mature in Christ Jesus, therefore that is why he labored so diligently to preach the gospel by the grace of God mightily. We too should strive to preach Christ and Him crucified for our sins so that we can live a life of victory in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • #And He is before all things and in Him, all things consist. Col. 1:17

Christ delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, who is before all things and in Him, all things consist. Thank God that it pleased the Father that in Him, all the fulness of the Godhead dwells. He is the firstborn from the dead and made peace with God by the blood of His cross. Thank God Jesus is the mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you the hope of glory. Give Him praise today for He is worthy of all our praises.

  • #As you also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. Col. 1:7,8

Paul is thankful for Epaphras a faithful minister of the Lord Jesus Christ who declared your love in the Spirit, which is paramount for living the Christian life. For love bears all things, believes all things, endures all things, is not puffed up, but rejoices in the truth; keeps no record of wrongs. This sounds like a great recipe for a great marriage and that is what love in the Spirit is all about. Thank God for Epaphras and may there be much more in the Church.
