Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Fathers provoke not your children to anger, lest they are discouraged. Col. 3:21

Paul continues his teaching on the Christian home, with fathers not provoking children to wrath. This is so important since fathers bear the greater care for discipline and they must do it with love and extreme care for the children so they do not become discouraged. My oldest daughter always said I want my daddy to discipline me, cause I don't cry when he does it, as I do when mommy does it. I was always very soft with girls since I did not have boys to be firm with. She is now a doctor, so I must have been correct in her discipline. The other daughter did not mention who she preferred to discipline her, but she will be a nurse. I thank God for my two daughters l love them more than any father could love them. I am sure that I used the proper verse in the Bible to pattern my discipline Prov. 22:6 which is train up a child the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart. Girls and boys require different styles of training and I learned that from my father who had two girls and four boys to train. Always use the Word of God for discipline for it is the most accurate book that teaches us how to train our children in the Lord. When you do it the right way, they will not become angry. Instead, they will be more loving. The most beautiful words to hear are I love you, daddy.

  • #Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Col. 3:20

We must be thankful for obedient children, for this is well pleasing to God when children honor their father and mother. God bless all Veterans on this day and always and thank their parents for teaching them the love of God first and country.

  • #Husbands, love your wives and be not bitter against them. Col. 3:19

This is a command since wives respond to love and if husbands are bitter against them, then they will respond negatively. I am in a difficult position as I love my wife, but she left me a year ago and will not return to the marriage. I am willing to reconcile the marriage, but she wants a divorce I told her I will not file for divorce again. I want the Lord to be glorified in the marriage between one man and one woman, not an open marriage as she wants.

  • #Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Col. 3:18

This verse stirs a lot of controversy with wives who say what if my husband asks me to do something that is unethical? Well, the verse concludes as it is fit in the Lord, so if what your husband is asking you to do is not fit in the Lord then you do not have to submit. However, as long as your husband is asking you to do godly things, then you must submit.

  • #And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him. Col. 3:17

We must be thankful every day for the Lord Jesus Christ by our words and deeds through the Father God. Let us pray for one another, as well as those who lost loved ones in the Church gun violence in San Antonio, Texas for this is the will of God for us. For to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

  • #Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col. 3:16

Sing with psalms and hymns and all spiritual songs with grace in your hearts to the Lord Jesus Christ. Let the word of Christ be on your tongue at all times in all wisdom; teaching as well as admonishing one another with the word of God. Comfort those who mourn as the community is still mourning the deaths of twenty-six people in Texas. We need to call our congressmen to get tuff on gun safety.

  • #And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body and be ye thankful. Col. 3:15

We are called to peace, for blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. As we prepare to celebrate the national day of thanksgiving, let us remember that every day is a day of thanksgiving as the peace of God rules in our hearts in the one body the church. May God have mercy on the church in San Antonio that had the gun violence may God comfort the families that lost loved ones.

  • #And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness Col. 3:14

Love never fails. God is love and whoever is born of God loves. Little children love one another as God loves us and love will be perfected in our lives. How can we say we love our brother by saying be warmed be filled, without giving him those things that he needs. Let us not love in words only but in deeds.

  • #Put on, therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness,  and humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man has a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Col. 3:12,13

Christ is all in all, so forgive and ye shall be forgiven. Let your light shine, so that men will see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. Bear with one another in love, for blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

  • #Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all and in all. Col. 3:11

Christ is all, and in all so let the Church be the Church no room for segregation. We are all united in Christ there is no such white church or a black church. Jesus is coming back for one glorious Church without spot or blemish.
