Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived and hid five months, saying Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men. Luke 1:24,25

The Lord blessed the womb of Elisabeth and she conceived John the Baptist and hid for five months being thankful that God had taken away her reproach among men. For a woman to be without a child was a reproach to men, so because of her faith, God took away her reproach for she never doubted when the angel told Zacharias her husband that she would conceive. This was a great lesson for us how God rewards faith and those who believe every word of the Lord. Next time the doctor tells you otherwise, just go to God in prayer and burdens are lifted there. Elisabeth conceived six months before Mary would be impregnated by the Holy Spirit with the Lord Jesus. What an honor this was to be in the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • #And behold, thou shalt be dumb and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. And the people waited for Zacharias and marveled that he tarried so long in the temple. Luke 1:20,21

Gabriel had to discipline Zacharias for his unbelief and set the example that God does not show favoritism. This proves to us that no matter who we are in our walk of faith, we can still have a faith failure. The scripture tells us to test ourselves to see that we are in the faith. Let him that thinks he stands to take heed lest he too would fail. The people were shocked that Zacharias had spent so much time in the temple, for they perceived that he had seen a vision. Yet he beckoned to them and remained speechless. So after his ministration were completed he departed to his own house. So trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thy understanding. This scripture is very important for us to stay in the faith trusting God no matter what He tells us to do. It is my prayer that this Advent season that you will lift up your eyes unto the hills from which comes our help, for our help comes from the Lord.

  • #And Zacharias said unto the angel, whereby shall I know this?for I am an old man and my wife well stricken in years. And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stands in the presence of God and is sent to speak unto thee and shew thee these glad tidings. Luke 1:18,19                                                                                                                                     Gabriel is the angel who announces all the signs of the coming of the Messiah and John the Baptist was to be the forerunner of the Messiah, so that is why he came to Zacharias first. When God sends an angel to you do not doubt for there will be consequences for all those who doubt. And so it was for Zacharias that he would be dumb and not able to speak until the day God did these things to Elisabeth his wife. He that comes to God must believe that He is God and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This is a warning to us to believe the Word of God fervently.

  • #And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:17

John the Baptist would walk before Yahweh in the power and spirit of Elias and would turn many hearts of the children to their fathers as well as the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, for Jesus would say of John, there is not a greater born among women than John. What a compliment that was for John and He told him that while he was in prison at the time needing a word of encouragement. Praise God this Advent season and let us walk with repentant hearts to our Heavenly Father just as John caused the people to walk in his day.

  • #And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. Luke 1:16

John the Baptist would turn many to the Lord with the message of repentance from dead works to fruits of righteousness. He would clash with the religious leaders who were very hypocritical of him because of this, but he would tell them every tree that my Heavenly Father did not plant would be uprooted. This angered them and lead to his ultimate beheading. Nevertheless, John was faithful until the end to proclaim the message of repentance by turning many of the children of Israel to God.

  • #For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. Luke 1:15

John the Baptist would be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, for he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost in that he would leap for joy in the womb of his mother at the news of Mary giving birth to the Lord Jesus Christ. What a blessing John would be to his parents for their prayers to have a son have been answered and the forerunner of the Lord Jesus will be born six months before the Lord,

  • #And thou shalt have joy and gladness many shall rejoice at his birth. Luke 1:14

The birth of John the Baptist would give joy and gladness to many in Israel for he would turn the hearts of the fathers to their children. John would be a special child that would be the forerunner of the Lord Jesus Christ six months before His birth. This was the best news that the angel Gabriel could give to Zacharias in the Temple.

  • #But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son and thou shalt call his name John. Luke 1:13

For Gabriel tells Zacharias to Fear not because his prayer has been answered. His wife Elisabeth will bear him a son who will be named John who will be the forerunner of the Lord Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. This is going to be a very wonderful news for unto us a Son is given. John the Baptist will leap for joy in the womb of his mother Elisabeth at the news of Mary giving birth to Jesus miraculously. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

  • #And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled and fear fell upon him. Luke 1:12

When Gabriel appeared to Zacharias he was troubled and afraid. This was an answer to the prayers in the temple. God had sent Gabriel to tell him about his son that would be the forerunner of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are like that in that after we have prayed we get surprised when God moves right away on our behalf. God will move heaven and earth to see that His will is accomplished in our lives and we have nothing to fear but to stand still to see the salvation on the Lord.

  • #And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense. Luke 1:11

The arc angel Gabriel was sent to the right side of the altar of incense in answer to prayer. God hears the prayers of the saints and intervenes by moving right away in the circumstances. The scripture says if my people which are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, seek my face, and repent of their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land. That is what God is doing by returning the hearts of the fathers to their children again. Praise God that we serve an on-time God who moves at the appointed times in our lives when we need Him the most. This was the case as the people were looking for a Savior to come and deliver them from Roman rule and establish the Kingdom to Jerusalem.
