Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the Child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem and Joseph and his mother knew not. And it came to pass, that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions And all that heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. And when they saw Him, they were amazed and His mother said unto Him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. And He said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business? Luke 2:41,42,43,46,47,48,49

Doctor Luke is the only gospel writer to point out this story of the Lord Jesus as He was twelve, He tarried behind His parents in the temple sitting in the midst of doctors, both hearing them and asking questions while His parents were looking for Him among His kinsfolk and acquaintance. Jesus amazed the doctors with His understanding and the questions that He asked. Once His parents found Him, His mother Mary said to Him why have you dealt with us thus? Your father Joseph was anxiously looking for you sorrowing. Then Jesus replied, did you not know, that I must be about my Father's business? The Heavenly Father must have first place in our lives at all times. That is what Jesus was telling His parents. He was not disobedient but obedient to His Heavenly Father who must have first place. What a lesson for us to learn, that when we take care of our Heavenly Father's business first, then He takes care of ours. As we celebrate the New Year 2018 let us make it our resolution to do our Heavenly Father's business first and He will take care of our business. May the Lord bless you all real good this year with an increase in faith and blessings.

  • #And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. And the Child grew and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom and the grace of God was upon Him. Luke 2:39,40

Joseph and Mary had fulfilled all things according to the law of the Lord, they then returned to Galilee, to their own city Nazareth, where Nathanael said unto Philip, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? The answer is a resounding yes, for the Lord Jesus went about doing good. This is the first of the silent years about the Lord Jesus, where scripture does not tell us what He did from two until twelve. We know that He worked with His father Joseph as a carpenter and we can be sure that He did many good things. As the Apostle John tells us all the books in the world could not contain all the things that our Lord Jesus did. So He grew and became strong in the spirit filled with wisdom, as the grace of God was upon Him. As we prepare to enter the New Year 2018, let us look to the Lord who can give us a spirit filled with wisdom and grace. So that we may know how to answer those for the hope that is within us. Christ Jesus our hope of glory. As our Lord told us to go into the highways and byways to compel them to enter into His Kingdom. Let us make this a great year to advance the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so that everyone will have a chance to hear the good news that Christ Jesus died and was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

  • #And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser, she was of a great age and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity: and she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord and spake of Him to all that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38

Anna was a devout widow of 84 years old, who gave praise to God and fasted with prayers night and day. She in an instant gave thanks to the Lord for all that looked for redemption in Jerusalem, for she knew that salvation is in the Lord Jesus Christ. We too should model Anna the prophetess who taught us how to fast and pray to the Lord. She did not consider herself too old to preach to the Lord but made full use of her spiritual gifts by the power of the Holy Spirit. What a testimony Simeon and Anna made to Joseph and Mary about the Child the Lord Jesus, who was a sign for the fall and rising again of many in Israel. We are a sign of this generation today that Jesus the Messiah is coming back again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We must be like the wise virgins who had oil in their lamps, so that at the midnight cry when the Lord came, they were ready to go in with the Lord. Unlike the foolish virgins who said give us some of your oil, but the wise said to go to the merchants and buy your own; sadly they were left. Be ye also ready for the Son of man comes at a time when ye think not.

  • #And behold there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple and when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him after the custom of the law. Then took he Him up in his arms and blessed God and said, Lord now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word. Luke 2:25-29

Simeon was a just and upright man who was waiting for the consolation of Israel and the Holy Ghost showed him that he would not see death until he had seen the Lord's Christ. What a promise and it was fulfilled when Joseph and Mary brought the Child Jesus into the temple to do according to the custom of the law. God is concerned about meeting our most basic needs, as Simeon needed closure on a life well lived and God through the power of the Holy Spirit had revealed to him that his need to see Jesus before he died would come to pass. Oh how we need to see Jesus too, as I prepare to do my mother's eulogy, I think now that she is in the presence of Jesus, where there is the fullness of joy and pleasures at His right hand. She is at peace for her suffering is over, just as Simeon departed in peace once he saw Jesus. My mother is at peace in the presence of Jesus. What consolation that gives me. One day when we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be, for we will be like Him, fashioned like unto Jesus, for we will see Him as He is. Blessed are those who have this hope in them for they are purified. Simeon saw the salvation of Israel and the Savior of the world. I hope you have Him in your heart today. Just pray Lord Jesus come into my heart and save me today is my prayer in Jesus name Amen.

  • #And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought Him to Jerusalem, to present Him to the Lord; And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons. Luke 2:22,24

The law of Moses made a provision for poor people to offer sacrifices to the Lord, as a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons were allowed to bring the Babe, the Lord Jesus to Jehovah.Thank God that He provides for poor people as Joseph and Mary were poor and this sacrifice symbolizes Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

  • #And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. And when the eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the Child, His name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before He was conceived in the womb. Luke 2:20,21

The shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for everything that was told them. For after the eight days were accomplished, the Child was circumcised according to the law of Moses. The name JESUS was given to the Child just as the angel Gabriel had told the Virgin Mary. Praise God for He is faithful to perform all that He has promised and we can be sure that He will finish what He has started in us unto the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to redeem us from this world. So have faith in God and run the race, keep the faith, and finish the course.

  • #And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:17-19

The Virgin Mary pondered in her heart all the things which the shepherds told her concerning the Child, the Lord Jesus Christ. This shows us how focused she was on the word of the Lord. We too need to focus on God's word so that we can be effective messengers of the Good News that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. As Paul said I am the chief of sinners, but God commended His love for us, in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us. The just for the unjust. This is pure love and grace alone that has saved us from our sins. That is the message of Christmas that God loved us enough to send us His only begotten Son to save us from our sins and He used shepherds to deliver the message to us. Will you be a shepherd as our Elder brother the Lord Jesus told Peter to feed my sheep? We show our love for the Lord Jesus when we feed the sheep.

  • #And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And Lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be unto all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:8-11

Angels were singing glory to God in the Highest, peace on earth goodwill to all men on whom His favor stands. For Shepherds were abiding in the field at night keeping watch over their flock, who were the least among men in the Jewish world. So God chose to bring His Son into the world in the presence of Shepherds since the Lord Jesus would be the Great Shepherd of His sheep. For He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. And the Shepherds made haste and found Mary and Joseph and the Babe lying in the manger. And when they had seen it they made known this thing abroad. We too like the Shepherds should make known Jesus to the world. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but would have eternal life. Thank God that He loved us so much to give us His Son, the Saviour of the world to come as a Babe that makes a woman cry. Rejoice with the angels of the Lord and the Shepherds too singing glory to God in the Highest.

  • #And she brought forth her firstborn Son and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7

    • As Joseph took his espoused wife Mary to Bethlehem to pay their taxes, because of the decree by Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. It was the will of God the Father for this to happen because Joseph was of the house and lineage of David, and since Jesus is to rule from Jerusalem on the throne of David, thus it was the providential will of God for all this to happen. Meanwhile, Mary wrapped the Babe the Lord Jesus Christ in swaddling clothes because there was no room for them in the inn. What a surprise since the prophecy by Isaiah that a Virgin would conceive and bring forth a Son,700 years in advance, there should have been room for Jesus. Sadly today, still there is no room for Jesus as the world is busy with all the parties, and drinking, no room for Jesus. My friend please do not get caught up in all the debauchery that goes on at Christmas time, but make sure there is room for Jesus in your heart. For He is coming again and it could be this Christmas with healing in His wings as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
  • #And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost and prophesied saying Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He hath visited and redeemed His people, and hath raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David; as He spake by the mouth of His holy prophets, which have been since the world began: that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all that hate us;To perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant, The oath which He swore to our father Abraham. Luke 1:67-73

Thank God as He spoke through the mouth of Zacharias after he praised Jehovah God for delivering John the Baptist, the forerunner of the Lord Jesus Christ now we can have peace with all men and be saved from the hand of all that hate us. I want to thank all those who prayed for my Mom while she was in hospice and she has gone home to be with the Lord. She is rejoicing in the arms of Jesus with my father, her lifetime companion on earth for 62 years. May the Lord bless you richly my beloved and enjoy this Christmas with family and friends.
