Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Thou, even thou, art to be feared and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? Thou didst cause judgment to be heard in heaven: the earth feared and was still, When God arose to judgment, to save the meek of the earth. Selah.  Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shall thou restrain. Vow and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about Him bring presents unto Him that ought to be feared. He shall cut off the spirit of princes: He is terrible to the kings of the earth. Psalm 76:7-12

Jehovah God is to be feared, for He shall cause the wrath of man to praise thee: the remainder of wrath shall thou restrain. Therefore, pay unto Jehovah thy vow. Let all that be round about Him bring presents unto Him that ought to be feared. That is why the Magi brought presents to the Babe, Lord Jesus.

  • #In Judah is God known: His name is great in Israel. In Salem also is His tabernacle and His dwelling place in Zion. There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword and the battle. Selah. Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep and none of the men of might have found their hands. At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep. Psalm 76:1-6

O God of Judah, how great thy name is in Israel. Selem also is thy tabernacle and His dwelling place is in Zion. Who is like unto thee O God that saves all those who come to you in truth. All praises are to thee, for thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. I will sing thy praises forever O God.

  • #For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one and setteth up another. For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup and the wine is red; it is full of mixture and He poureth out of the same but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out and drink them. But I will declare forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted. Psalms 75:6-10

God has spoken it, and it is so: promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God alone is the judge; He puts down one and sets up another. Thank God that He rules in the affairs of men and determines who it is that shall be promoted, so praise His name and give Him all the glory. Therefore I will sing praises to the God of Jacob forever. Jehovah God is He that puts down the horns wicked and exalts the horns of the righteous.

  • #Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly. The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah. I said unto the fools, deal not foolishly and to the wicked lift, not up the horn: Lift not you: horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. Psalm 75:1-5

Give thanks to the Lord for that thy name is near and thy wondrous works we declare. For the Lord alone is to be praised and worshipped. Therefore fools do not behave foolishly and to the wicked do not do wickedly. Lift your horn up on high and give glory to God, do not speak with a stiff neck. For God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud.

  • #Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers. The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter. Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name. O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor forever. Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name. Arise, O God, and plead thine own cause; remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily. Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually. Psalm 74:15-23

O thou great Jehovah, thou wilt not let the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and the needy praise thy name continually. Please remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily and come to the rescue of the poor and needy, for the foolish people have blasphemed thy name. O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of the poor forever. Who is like unto thee O God that saves the poor and the needy, for thou art a bulwark to them.

  • #They said in their hearts let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land. We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long. O God how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name forever? Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom. For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Psalm 74:8-14

God is He that saves with His right hand and will work salvation in the midst of the earth. Thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters and made leviathan the meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Who is like unto thee O God? For thou savest to the uttermost those that call upon thee. Hear us O God for we are the sheep of thy pasture and please listen to the works of thy creation.

  • #O God, why hast thou cast us off forever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? Remember thy congregation which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations: even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations: they set up their ensigns for signs. A man was famous according, as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers. They have cast fire into the sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. Psalm 74:1-7

Asaph is concerned about the sanctuary being defiled. as he begs God to lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. We must be careful how we worship God, and that our lives do not tear down what God has done for us in the sanctuary for His glory. It is important that we destroy the idols that try to creep into our lives and ruin our worship. O God, we repent of the idols that have allowed us to become lukewarm in our worship of thee. Light a fire under our feet so that our hearts will burn with holy fire for thee alone O God. Thank you, God, for sending your Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins so that we repent immediately of our sins, and making you the Lord of our lives.

  • #Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awakest, thou shalt despise their image. Thus my heart was grieved and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless, I am continually with thee: Thou hast held me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee. My flesh and my heart faileth but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works. Psalms 73:18-28

Asaph is awakened from his sleep as God Almighty tells him in the sanctuary what is the end of the wicked. As in slippery places, thou didst cast them, they are utterly consumed with terrors. Then he is told Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel and afterward receive me to glory. I am so thankful for whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none I desire beside thee. I know my flesh and my heart will fail, but thou O God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Help me O God to dwell in your sanctuary forever, for there will I receive the strength and the help for all my needs.

  • #Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart. But as for me, my feet were almost gone: my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious at the foolish when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. They set their mouth against the heavens and their tongue walketh through the earth. Therefore his people return hither and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them. And they say, how doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High? Behold, these are ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches. Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain and washed my hands in innocence. For all the day long have I been plagued and chastened every morning. If I say, I will speak thus: behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children. When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end. Psalm 73:1-17

Asaph is writing this Psalm and he starts out by saying God is good to Israel even to such as are of a clean heart, but then he says my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped. For I was envious of the foolish when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Until he when into the sanctuary of God, then he understood their end. We must learn how to dwell in the sanctuary of God so that we too do not become envious of the foolish and the wicked. For there God deals with our heart and shows us their end. Yes, God is good to Israel and such as are of a clean heart.

  • #There shall be a handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth. His name shall endure for ever: His name shall be continued as long as the sun and men shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed. Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be His glorious name forever and let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen and Amen. The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended. Psalm 72:16-20

Jehovah God shall endure forever and all nations shall call Him blessed, the God of Israel who only does wondrous things. Let the whole earth be full of His glory; Amen and Amen. As these prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended and the third division of the books of the Psalms is about to start. What a joy to go through these Psalms every day.
