Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Meats for the belly and the belly for meats but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord and the Lord for the body.  And God hath both raised up the Lord and will also raise up us by his own power. I Cor. 6:12-14

God made the body for meats and the belly for meats. Yet God shall destroy them both. Now we must not commit fornication or sexual immorality, for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we must glorify God in our body. God will raise the body up at the last judgment and we will give an account for the things done in the body both good and bad. Therefore mortify your members on the earth so that we will receive a reward at the Bema Seat of Christ.

  • #Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you, but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. I Cor. 6:9-11

Paul gives the list of sins that will not allow you to inherit the kingdom of God and then he tells the Corinthians that such were some of you, but ye have been washed in the Blood of Jesus, but ye have been sanctified by the Holy Spirit of our God. What a blessing to be cleansed from your former sins and we must be careful to live a holy and sanctified life.

  • #If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother and before the unbelievers. Now, therefore, there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong and defraud and that your brethren. I Cor.6:4-8

Paul is concerned that the Corinthian church set men who are least esteemed in the church to judge the matters pertaining to life. Instead, he speaks to your shame that ye could not find a wise man among them. Now, brother is going to law with brothers and that before the unbelievers. Ye should rather suffer to be defrauded. Arm yourselves as Christ Jesus, who was reviled and did not revile back. Nay, ye do wrong and defraud and that your brethren. May we learn from these mistakes that this Corinthian church made and not repeat them in our churches today. We need to have a good testimony to those who are without faith.

  • #Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? I Cor. 6:1-3

Paul is admonishing the Corinthian believers to not go to law before the unjust judges, knowing that we will judge the world on the last judgment. We should, therefore, be able to judge such small matters in the church. We shall also judge the fallen angels, so how much more we should be able to judge the things that pertain to this life.

  • #For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But to them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. I Cor. 5:12,13

Paul has pointed out that Christians must judge Christians and God will judge the wicked. So it behooves believers to put away the wicked person from among them. Rebuke a believer who is living in sin and if he or she repents accept them, but if they do not then turn them over to Satan for the destruction of the body so that the soul can be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. God will judge the wicked at the Great White Throne judgment and we will be allowed to testify to the judgment that we witnessed to them about their sin. Therefore judge yourselves so that ye will not be judged. Let the unrighteous man forsake his thoughts and the wicked man his ways and return to the Lord for he will abundantly pardon.

  • #I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of being this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolators; for then must ye needs to go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no not to eat. I Cor. 5:9-11

Paul has given the standard for Christian conduct and what must not be named among Christians in order to go to Heaven. We find in today that Christians are not as serious about what Paul admonished in this epistle, and it is more commonly reported of Christians to be fornicators. I know it is not the unpardonable sin, but must be repented of at once. Let every man or woman have their own spouse. This is the only way the Christian community is going to overcome the gossip and lies that is permeating the Church today. Drinking is more socially acceptable than ever before and not associating with drunkards is hardly ever standard. We must be at peace with all men and follow holiness, for without holiness no man will see the Lord.

  • #Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I Cor. 5:6-8

Does Paul use the analogy of leaven being a little leaveneth the whole lump? This is why we must keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Therefore put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provisions for the flesh.

  • #For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. I Cor. 5:3-5

Paul is concerned that the Corinthian church turns this man over to Satan for fornicating with his father's wife. For the destruction of the body in hopes that his soul can be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. We must judge ourselves so that we may not be judged.

  • #It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you and such fornication as is not so much named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. And ye are puffed up and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. I Cor. 5:1-2

Incest is fornication rather it is a stepmother or real mother and the Corinthian Church failed to judge this brother for this sin. What a shame to see that this sin is still prevalent in society today. May the Lord give pastors the courage to rebuke anyone that is living in sin today. There is so much prosperity preaching going on, and pastors are more concerned about not offending members. We must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ and answer for those things done in the body, be they good or bad.

  • #Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but power. What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and in the spirit of meekness? I Cor. 4:18-21

There are some who are full of pride, as Paul warned the Corinthians, that he would come in power if the Lord wills. For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. Then he challenges them shall I come to you with a rod or in love and in the spirit of meekness? Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit goes before a fall. Meekness is the key and love is better to use than a rod of strength.
