Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of person judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: I Peter 1:14-19

We must live holy lives as obedient children of God, not fashioning ourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance. Since God hath called you to be holy, so be holy in all your conversation. Do not hate or be racist in your behavior. Do not rape women and do not hang your brethren by the trees claiming he has committed suicide. For no murderer hath eternal life. So be holy in what so ever you do, and render due benevolence to your spouse. Lest either of you becomes tempted and departs from the godly way. For we were redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and not of corruptible things such as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by the tradition from your fathers. Jesus the Lamb of God without blemish and without spot has called us to holiness.

  • #Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, of what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us, they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; I Peter 1:10-13

Yes, the prophets searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Such as Isaiah who said who had believed the report, speaking of the sufferings of Christ on the Cross and the glory that should follow. Surely the searching what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify. As well as Joel who said your old man would dream and the young men would see visions when the Holy Spirit was poured out on them. This was revealed not just unto themselves, but unto us, they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven on Pentecost. Even the angels desire to look into, but they cannot because salvation only pertains to mankind. Wherefore, we must gird up the loins of our minds by being sober and righteous as we hope to the end of the grace that will be brought unto us at the Revelation of Jesus Christ in the apocalypse. We thank God for these scriptures which do testify unto us so that we can hope to the end and receive the salvation of our souls.

  • #Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it is tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom, having seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: I Peter 1:6-8

Peter is exhorting the believers that though they are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, that they endure the manifold temptations for a season. Just like gold is tested in the fire, even though it perishes, our faith is being tested through these manifold temptations that will produce hope unto lasting salvation at the appearing of Jesus Christ. We believe in him, even though we do not see him, and we love him and the brethren. Now abides faith, hope, and love, with the greatest of these being love. Since we hope for what we do not see, then we with patience wait until we see Jesus Christ rejoicing with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Therefore, we do not sorrow as those who have no hope but look for the blessed appearing of Jesus in the clouds to catch us away to our heavenly home.

  • #Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. I Peter 1:3-5

Praise God that Jesus died on the Cross and defeated the last enemy that we all have which is death. O death, where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory? For the sting of death is sin, but thanks are unto God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ and an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. We have hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and victory over the grave. Our prayers are with Sandra Swarz who has seen her mother, Emily, make the transition to heaven and we look forward to seeing her again.

  • #Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace, be multiplied. I Peter 1:1,2

Peter is an apostle of Jesus Christ and though he has the reputation of denying the Lord, he was restored by the Lord and has now become the head of the Apostles. He is preaching to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. These are the Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father. We are sanctified by the Spirit, unto the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. We are justified by the blood as if we never sinned and are set apart by the Holy Spirit until we are glorified at the appearing of Jesus Christ in the First Resurrection. Peter uses the salutation: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied because as Christians we have made peace with God by the blood of Jesus and are to live in peace with our brothers and sisters. We are going to learn a lot about the doctrines of the Church through our study in the Book of Peter so put on your thinking cap as we scroll through this dynamic Book.

  • #So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first Jemima and the name of the second, Kezia and the name of the third, Keren Happuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. After this lived Job a hundred and forty years and saw his sons and his sons' sons even four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days. Job 42:12-17

We can sum up that Job learned to trust God more in all the trials that he suffered and God blessed his latter end more than his beginning. His daughters were fairer than all the women in the land and they received an inheritance among their brethren. Job lived a hundred and forty years and saw his sons' sons, even four generations. We do not know how old Job was when he died, but he was an old man full of days. We could say that Job was a perfect husband, father, and grandfather. How we need more people like Job in the world today. May the Lord bless us for having studied the life of Job and may we be better Christians because of it.

  • #Then came there unto him all his brethren and all his sisters and all they that had been acquaintance before and did eat bread with him in his house and they bemoaned him and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money and every one an earring of gold. Job 42:11

Now all the brothers and sisters, as well as the acquaintance of Job came out to eat bread with him in his house. What a blessing this was to Job for he had suffered long and though the Bible does not tell us how long, it was such that everyone knew about it. God then rewards him for his trial by causing everyone to give him a piece of money and an earring of gold. This symbolized the great victory that God had given him and just as he said all the days of my appointed time I will wait until my change comes. Thank God that we can comfort those in any trouble with the same comfort that we have received from God. Let us continue to pray for George Floyd's family now that the funeral is over and everyone has gone home that God will comfort them as they seek justice for their brother's murder.

  • #And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have spoken of me the thing which is right as my servant Job. So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did according, as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 40:7-10                                              So Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar did as Jehovah God commanded and Job prayed for them, for the Lord accepted the prayer of Job and the burnt offerings pointed to the blood of Jesus on the Cross. And the Jehovah God turned the captivity of Job and gave him twice as much as he had before. What a blessing we have today that we can pray for the policemen who need our prayers, as they have a job that is as hard as Job's was. It is not my brother or my sister, but it is me O Lord, as the song states, standing in the need of prayer. Let us proclaim the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living and lift up George Floyd's family as they lay their brother to rest.

  • #Then Job answered the LORD and said, I know that thou canst do everything and that no thought can be withholden from thee. Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee and declare thou unto me. I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes. Job 42:1-6

Job answered Jehovah God by saying I know that thou can do everything and everything is in his hands. He realized that he has uttered counsel without knowledge, things too wonderful for me. He begged the Almighty I will speak and declare thou unto me. He had heard of thee by the ear, and now his eyes beheld thee. Then Job hated himself and repented in dust and ashes. This was the most humble thing that Job could do, as he has seen the works of the Lord out of the whirlwind, and realizes he is not worthy to ask of God for he is vile before a holy God. How we need to repent in dust and ashes too, as Job did for God is near those who are contrite in heart. Praise God that His mercies are new every morning for great is thy faithfulness. Job has come to the end of himself and now God is about to move in a mighty way on his behalf.

  • #Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stirs him up: who then is able to stand before me? Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible roundabout. Job 41:8-14

Satan who hath come as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour was allowed by God to bring all this calamity upon Job, but Satan in all of his pride will be defeated by God. Job is about to come to the end of his long trial and God is going to bless Job with more than he had before. A righteous man looks to the end of a thing, not the beginning. So Job who said all the days of my appointed time, I am to wait until my change comes. We too have hope that racism will come to an end, as it is centered in pride and pride goes before destruction. So let him that is proud repent and humble himself before the mighty hand of God. The three sins are: the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life will all be defeated when Satan is thrown into the Lake of Fire. So, love not this world, nor the things of this world, for they are passing away. He that does the will of God shall abide forever.
