Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #For all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. I Peter 1:24,25

Peter compares man and all flesh as grass, which like a flower plumes for a short time and then falls away. And the grass grows and is green for a while, then it fades away. Our life is as a vapor, for we are here for a while, then we pass away. Therefore we must build our lives on that which lasts forever, for the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. We use to sing a hymn build your life on things eternal, Hold to God's unchanging hand.  Truly God is from everlasting to everlasting and he has a home in heaven that will not pass away and a body that will live forever. As we have borne the terrestrial, so shall we bear the celestial. What glory that shall be when my Jesus we shall see, to forever live with Him in heaven will be glory for me.

  • #Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. I Peter 1:22-23

Peter is challenging the brethren to obey the truth through the Spirit in the agape love of the brethren. This is the same love that Jesus had instructed Peter three times to have for Him. Thus we must see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. We must not be racist and love only our friends, but Jesus said to love your enemies, do good to those who despitefully use you. When we do this we will abolish the race problem in America. Churches must become multicultural so that we can understand one another. Once the Church solves this dilemma, then the world will follow.

  • #Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. I Peter 1:20-21

Jesus was slain as the Lamb of God before the foundations of the world and has been made manifest in these last times for you, who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; Therefore our hope and faith should be in God. For one day we too will die and we will be raised in the first resurrection. How we need to put our house in order so that we may receive the end of our faith, the redemption of the body. Jesus is the firstfruits of them that slept and afterward we when he comes again. For we will see him as he is and be fashioned like unto him. What a glorious day that shall be, as this corruptible will put on incorruption and then shall come to past the saying that death is swallowed up in victory.

  • #As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of person judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: I Peter 1:14-19

We must live holy lives as obedient children of God, not fashioning ourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance. Since God hath called you to be holy, so be holy in all your conversation. Do not hate or be racist in your behavior. Do not rape women and do not hang your brethren by the trees claiming he has committed suicide. For no murderer hath eternal life. So be holy in what so ever you do, and render due benevolence to your spouse. Lest either of you becomes tempted and departs from the godly way. For we were redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and not of corruptible things such as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by the tradition from your fathers. Jesus the Lamb of God without blemish and without spot has called us to holiness.

  • #Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, of what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us, they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; I Peter 1:10-13

Yes, the prophets searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Such as Isaiah who said who had believed the report, speaking of the sufferings of Christ on the Cross and the glory that should follow. Surely the searching what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify. As well as Joel who said your old man would dream and the young men would see visions when the Holy Spirit was poured out on them. This was revealed not just unto themselves, but unto us, they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven on Pentecost. Even the angels desire to look into, but they cannot because salvation only pertains to mankind. Wherefore, we must gird up the loins of our minds by being sober and righteous as we hope to the end of the grace that will be brought unto us at the Revelation of Jesus Christ in the apocalypse. We thank God for these scriptures which do testify unto us so that we can hope to the end and receive the salvation of our souls.

  • #Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perisheth, though it is tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom, having seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: I Peter 1:6-8

Peter is exhorting the believers that though they are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, that they endure the manifold temptations for a season. Just like gold is tested in the fire, even though it perishes, our faith is being tested through these manifold temptations that will produce hope unto lasting salvation at the appearing of Jesus Christ. We believe in him, even though we do not see him, and we love him and the brethren. Now abides faith, hope, and love, with the greatest of these being love. Since we hope for what we do not see, then we with patience wait until we see Jesus Christ rejoicing with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Therefore, we do not sorrow as those who have no hope but look for the blessed appearing of Jesus in the clouds to catch us away to our heavenly home.

  • #Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. I Peter 1:3-5

Praise God that Jesus died on the Cross and defeated the last enemy that we all have which is death. O death, where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory? For the sting of death is sin, but thanks are unto God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ and an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. We have hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and victory over the grave. Our prayers are with Sandra Swarz who has seen her mother, Emily, make the transition to heaven and we look forward to seeing her again.

  • #Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace, be multiplied. I Peter 1:1,2

Peter is an apostle of Jesus Christ and though he has the reputation of denying the Lord, he was restored by the Lord and has now become the head of the Apostles. He is preaching to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. These are the Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father. We are sanctified by the Spirit, unto the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. We are justified by the blood as if we never sinned and are set apart by the Holy Spirit until we are glorified at the appearing of Jesus Christ in the First Resurrection. Peter uses the salutation: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied because as Christians we have made peace with God by the blood of Jesus and are to live in peace with our brothers and sisters. We are going to learn a lot about the doctrines of the Church through our study in the Book of Peter so put on your thinking cap as we scroll through this dynamic Book.

  • #So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters. And he called the name of the first Jemima and the name of the second, Kezia and the name of the third, Keren Happuch. And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. After this lived Job a hundred and forty years and saw his sons and his sons' sons even four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days. Job 42:12-17

We can sum up that Job learned to trust God more in all the trials that he suffered and God blessed his latter end more than his beginning. His daughters were fairer than all the women in the land and they received an inheritance among their brethren. Job lived a hundred and forty years and saw his sons' sons, even four generations. We do not know how old Job was when he died, but he was an old man full of days. We could say that Job was a perfect husband, father, and grandfather. How we need more people like Job in the world today. May the Lord bless us for having studied the life of Job and may we be better Christians because of it.

  • #Then came there unto him all his brethren and all his sisters and all they that had been acquaintance before and did eat bread with him in his house and they bemoaned him and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money and every one an earring of gold. Job 42:11

Now all the brothers and sisters, as well as the acquaintance of Job came out to eat bread with him in his house. What a blessing this was to Job for he had suffered long and though the Bible does not tell us how long, it was such that everyone knew about it. God then rewards him for his trial by causing everyone to give him a piece of money and an earring of gold. This symbolized the great victory that God had given him and just as he said all the days of my appointed time I will wait until my change comes. Thank God that we can comfort those in any trouble with the same comfort that we have received from God. Let us continue to pray for George Floyd's family now that the funeral is over and everyone has gone home that God will comfort them as they seek justice for their brother's murder.
