Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Whom we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. Col. 1:28,29

Paul and Timotheus labored every day striving with the people of God, as well as the enemies of the cross mightily and we too as ministers of the gospel will have to strive by preaching to every man, warning every man to present every man perfect before Christ Jesus. What does it mean to be perfect? That term means to be spiritually mature in Christ Jesus. On the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told us to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. We are made perfect by the Blood of Jesus and are sanctified by the Holy Spirit. When God looks at us He sees us perfect in Christ. We will receive the crown of righteousness by loving the appearing of Christ when He returns in the clouds for the Church. It is a blessing to know that we are perfect in Christ and will one day stand before the Lord to give an accounting for our lives. May we be able to say as Paul said: I fought a good fight, I kept the faith, and I have finished my course. Then we will receive that crown of righteousness and cast it at the feet of Jesus.

  • #Even the mystery which hath been hidden from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of the mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you the hope of glory: Col. 1:26,27

The Greek word for mystery is mysterion which is Christ in you the hope of glory which has been preached among Jews and Gentiles. We thank God that He has revealed this to us in these last days of grace. This word has been used in documentaries but has been known for Sacred mysteries of Christianity. God told Paul these mysteries of the faith involving the rapture of the church. So that is when Jesus will catch all those who have trusted in Christ away in the clouds: this is our hope for glory and we are to comfort one another with these words.

  • #Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; Col. 1:24-25

Paul rejoiced in the sufferings for Christ for the Colossians, which was for the body's sake for the church. So I too thank God for my afflictions in Christ for I know that my sufferings are making me more like Christ and I will rejoice that the power of Christ is being manifested in me. Being a minister requires suffering many things, even the separation of a wife can be an example of the affliction that we must endure. It is the will of God that we live a holy life and possess our bodies in sanctification and honor.

  • #And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Col. 1:21-23

We were sometime alienated and enemies in our mind by wicked works, from the accuser of the brethren, Satan, but we have been reconciled by Jesus in the body of His flesh through death on the cross to present us holy, unblameable, and unreproveable in His sight. The key is if we continue in the faith grounded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel. I worked in the repair business working on electrical appliances and it required that I not were anything that was a conductor and I had to wear rubber shoes so I would be grounded from electrical shock. In the same way, we have to put on the whole armor of Jesus Christ to keep us grounded and settled in the faith, such as the shield of faith. This is what Paul did to become a minister of the gospel that has been preached to every creature under heaven. I praise God for I too have become a minister of this gospel in the same way.

  • #And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. Col. 1:18-21

Jesus is the head of the body, the church, and by resurrecting from the dead He became the firstborn from the dead. Christ has preeminence over all things and it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness dwells. Thank God that He made peace through the blood of His cross. Now we are reconciled to God by himself and have been given the ministry of reconciliation. Jesus has reconciled all things by himself, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. Now we have a future in Christ the head of the Church.

  • #In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in the earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And He is before all things and by Him, all things consist. Col. 1:14-17

Thank God for Jesus Christ, for in Him we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Now we no longer have to feel guilty over past sins, for we are forgiven and God has cast our sins in the depts of the oceans and no fishing allowed. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Jesus is the second person of the trinity, whom the Father sent into the world born of the virgin Mary so that he could be the God-man in His hypostatic union He is very God and very man. By Him, all things were created that are in heaven and that are in the earth, visible and invisible whether they be thrones, or dominions, principalities, or powers: these are the angelic beings in heaven, for all things were created by him: And he is before all things and by him, all things consist.

  • #For this cause we also, since the day we heard of it, do not cease to pray for you and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Col.1:9-13

Paul since he heard of the love in the Spirit of Epaphras did not cease to pray for you and that you would be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. We understand the word of God by the Holy Spirit who takes the things of Christ and makes them real to us so that we can know the will of God for our lives. This is the will of God that we possess our bodies in sanctification and honor. This gives us patience and all longsuffering, which are fruits of the spirit and we then give thanks to God the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ for making us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. We are joint-heirs with Christ and will inherit the blessings that come with the saints in light. We give thanks to the Father who has delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. The kingdom of God is in our hearts, and we have the Spirit of God in our hearts that keeps us holy in all our ways, bearing fruits unto all good works. This is what gives us the joy of the Lord, which is our strength and enables us to be patient unto the coming of the Lord. What joy will fill our hearts when we see Jesus when He steps out in the clouds to call us home.

  • #As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow-servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ: Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit. Col. 1:7,8

We are people who love our pets because they love us unconditionally. In this coronavirus pandemic, pet adoptions are up tremendously. Likewise, the Colossians needed love in the Spirit that is unconditional and Epaphras who was a minister of Christ was just the one who imparted the love of the Spirit to Paul and Timotheus as they ministered to the Colossian believers. As the grace of God was overflowing in the church and they were praying for one another in truth with all sincerity. It is this same Spirit that is giving us the strength to make it through all of the death and loneliness that comes from being in a pandemic. I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will shine in your hearts and the hope of heaven will guide us through these perilous days that we are living in. Bearing fruit and speaking the truth in love one to another. We all need an Epaphras in the Church who will share the love of Christ to all the believers. Due to this pandemic, many churches are having services virtually and this is causing a lot of isolation as well as loneliness, so it is very important to check on seniors who are living alone and suffering alone. Epaphras would be the one who would call and check on the brothers and sisters in Christ to make sure they were doing great. I praise God that I have two brothers who are like Epaphras to me, calling on me to make sure that I am doing well in the Lord. The scripture tells us that those who teach the word should be refreshed by those who receive the word. We are all called to be encouraged to by the truth, just like King David encouraged himself in the Lord. So if you are lonely in this pandemic get a pet and be an encourager in the Lord to the body of Christ and the peace of God will rule in your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • #We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which ye have to all the saints, For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it and knew the grace of God in truth: Col. 1:3-6

As Christians, we give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ praying always for you since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus. I am just like the Colossians Christians, who prayed for other believers for their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It has been a trying time with my healthcare going from doctor to doctor trying to understand the reason for the low Kidney function and I have cast all my care upon the Lord. Knowing that to live is Christ and to die is gain. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, which is the hope laid up for you in heaven. Everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die, as my beloved brother would always say. It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Thank God that only one life to live for Christ and only what we do for Christ will last; is the poem of the Church and our Christian life. It is because of the gospel that is preached unto you, that brings forth fruit, as it doth also in you since the day ye heard of it and knew the grace of God in truth: For as Jesus said: ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Thank God that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes unto the Father except by him. I thank God that I am in Christ and we have the blessed hope of being caught up to be with the Lord in the air and changed in a moment. Blessed and holy are those in the first resurrection for He will call come up here and all those in the grave that have trusted in Jesus will receive their glorified bodies and so shall we ever be with the Lord. What a joy so let us rejoice in this blessed hope which keeps us holy and true.

  • #Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God and Timotheus our brother, To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:1,2

I thank God for the fellowship of the saints, as I just received mercy while driving in the drive-thru at Chick-fil-A, I accidentally took my foot off the brake and slowly hit the car ahead. Thank God it did not do any damage, but I offered $40 dollars to the owner of the car and she accepted, then later her husband gave me the money back saying no harm was done. That is grace and peace as our text says. As Paul an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ and Timotheus our brother, it is living the will of God that allows us to receive the grace of God. We too were sinners in need of a Savior and God commended his love toward us by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for the sins of the world. That my brothers and sisters are grace unspeakable and peace with God as we will see that this is the theme of Colossians as we study this great book. I hope all those who are suffering will thank God for the grace that has been given to us freely by the Lord Jesus Christ and though He came unto His own and they received him not, but to as many, as believed on him to them gave He the right to be sons of God. It is my prayer that you will come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive this gift of grace and peace with God.
