A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

#When Christ, who is our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col. 3:4
The blessed hope of the Church is when Christ who is our life shall appear, then shall we also appear with him in glory. This hope purifies us, as we are pure by the blood of Jesus. We have been justified from our sins by the blood of Jesus, and we are being sanctified from our sins through the power of the Holy Spirit, and we will be delivered from the presence of sin at the glorification of the body when Jesus appears. For the Lord, Himself shall descend from heaven with the shout, the voice of the arc angel and the trumpet of God shall sound, then the dead in Christ shall be raised, and we who are alive and remain shall be caught up in the clouds, changed in the twinkling of an eye to forever be with the Lord. Praise Jehovah Rapha our healer and Savior of our souls that we will live forever in our glorified bodies to forever be with the Lord. Even so, come to us Lord Jesus and take us away to be with you forever is our prayer.
#If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Col. 3:1-3
Paul uses if ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, meaning in the third heaven where Christ is seated on the right hand of God. We must place our eyes on Jesus, and focus on running the race which is set before us. By setting our affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Consider yourself dead and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Thank God for sparing us from the ravages of the coronavirus pandemic and giving us the grace to endure the long hurricane season. Continue praying for those affected by climate change and take advantage of early voting. May God give us leaders that will take climate change seriously and reduce our carbon footprint in the environment.
#Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Col. 2:18-22
We must be wise not to let anyone beguile you of your reward by being vainly puffed up in your fleshly mind, worshipping of angels, and not holding the Head which all the body by joints and bands are nourished, ministered, and knit together with the increase of God. The Apostle John when he was on the isle of Patmos and received the Revelation of God by an angel, fell down to worship the angel, and the angel told him not to do it; worship Jesus only. We too must remember that angels are only messengers sent from God to serve us and we are not to worship them, thus losing our reward.
#Let no man, therefore, judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of a new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ. Col. 2:16,17
Paul admonishes the Colossians to not let any man judge them in meat, or drink, or in respect of a new moon, or of the sabbath days: This is because Jesus has completed the Law, which all these things are a shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ. We now have liberty in Christ Jesus but let us not use our liberty as a stumbling block. If your brother or sister does these things, do not judge them, just remind them of the liberty that we have in Christ.
#Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Col.2:14,15
Jesus blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us on the cross, which was contrary to us, taking them out of the way, by nailing it there; making complete spoilage of Satan. Had Satan known by crucifying the king of glory, he was cutting off his head, he would never have done it. Jesus completely triumphed over them and forever set us free from the penalty, power, and one day when he comes again will take us away from the presence of sin.
#Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye have risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Col. 2:12,13
We are buried with Christ Jesus in baptism, wherein ye also have risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who raised Jesus from the dead. Therefore we are not bound to the flesh which is uncircumcised and dead in sins, God has made us alive in Christ to live a holy life by being risen from the dead with Jesus Christ. God has forgiven us and sanctified us in Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
#For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Col. 2:9-11
In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. We are complete in Christ who is the Mediator between God and man. He is the head of all principality and power: all thrones and dominions are subject to him. We are circumcised in him, not the circumcision of the flesh but of the heart made without hands. Jesus put off the body of the sins of the flesh on the cross and we are acceptable in the beloved. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Lake Charles, LA as Hurricane delta as a category two storm is headed for them once again. The effects of climate change are making these storms more frequent and more violent in intensity. It is time that we reduce the carbon footprint in the environment so that this apocalyptic sequence of storms will not continue to batter the Gulfcoast of America. There are many who do not believe in climate change, but with all the wildfires in the Westcoast, many are starting to believe. It is time that man stops destroying the rainforest which is put there by God to stop the greenhouse gases. We need to plant more trees to protect the environment to show our love for the next generations of children and grandchildren. I praise God for my granddaughter Charlotte Elisabeth Keillor who was born on October 7, 2020, and I am so excited for her parents.
#Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ. Col. 2:7,8
Paul is teaching us how to be built up in Christ, rooted and built up in him with thanksgiving. It is the will of God that we give thanks in all things in Christ Jesus. Then we must beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Our mind must be totally on Christ Jesus looking to Him the Author and finisher of our faith. Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, denying the shame and is seated at the right hand of Christ. When we do this no man will be able to spoil you through philosophy or vain deceit.
#And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Col. 2:4-6
Paul is warning the Colossians to beware of those who would beguile them with enticing words. For we are present in the spirit though we are absent in the flesh and it is a joy to behold the stedfastness of your faith. It is so when we are taken to our heavenly home. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Paul gave his swan song in II Timothy 4 and it is mine as well: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. What a joy it will be to hear Jesus say well done, my good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of the Lord. We will be home with the Lord while being absent from the body and your presence. When we all get to heaven what a joy it will be singing in the Halalulia Choir will be glory for me, being in the presence of Jesus eternally will be my story. Thank God the race is not given to the swift, but to the one who endures unto the end. So my brothers and sisters as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him: For all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him. Rejoice now though you be in sorrow now, just know that in the presence of Jesus is joy forevermore.
#For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you and for them at Laodicea and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God and of the Father and of Christ; In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2:1-3
Paul had a great conflict for the brothers at Laodicea since many had not seen his face in the flesh and his desire is that they would be knit together in love one to another. As well as their full assurance and understanding of the mystery of God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a theme of the book of Colossians and we, too today need to know all the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ. For we live in a day when the men are ever learning but not coming to the knowledge of the truth of Christ Jesus. Living in a pandemic of the coronavirus and many people are suffering loneliness due to the isolation of the decease, we need more than ever to be knit together in the Love of God. It is my prayer that many Christians will take it to heart to check on their elderly parents and encourage them in the faith. Christ will come soon to take us away from the presence of sin and give us our glorified bodies. So let us hold on to the faith looking to Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith.
