A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Col. 2:9-11

In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. We are complete in Christ who is the Mediator between God and man. He is the head of all principality and power: all thrones and dominions are subject to him. We are circumcised in him, not the circumcision of the flesh but of the heart made without hands. Jesus put off the body of the sins of the flesh on the cross and we are acceptable in the beloved. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Lake Charles, LA as Hurricane delta as a category two storm is headed for them once again. The effects of climate change are making these storms more frequent and more violent in intensity. It is time that we reduce the carbon footprint in the environment so that this apocalyptic sequence of storms will not continue to batter the Gulfcoast of America. There are many who do not believe in climate change, but with all the wildfires in the Westcoast, many are starting to believe. It is time that man stops destroying the rainforest which is put there by God to stop the greenhouse gases. We need to plant more trees to protect the environment to show our love for the next generations of children and grandchildren. I praise God for my granddaughter Charlotte Elisabeth Keillor who was born on October 7, 2020, and I am so excited for her parents.

  • #Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ. Col. 2:7,8

Paul is teaching us how to be built up in Christ, rooted and built up in him with thanksgiving. It is the will of God that we give thanks in all things in Christ Jesus. Then we must beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Our mind must be totally on Christ Jesus looking to Him the Author and finisher of our faith. Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, denying the shame and is seated at the right hand of Christ. When we do this no man will be able to spoil you through philosophy or vain deceit.

  • #And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Col. 2:4-6

Paul is warning the Colossians to beware of those who would beguile them with enticing words. For we are present in the spirit though we are absent in the flesh and it is a joy to behold the stedfastness of your faith. It is so when we are taken to our heavenly home. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Paul gave his swan song in II Timothy 4 and it is mine as well: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. What a joy it will be to hear Jesus say well done, my good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of the Lord. We will be home with the Lord while being absent from the body and your presence. When we all get to heaven what a joy it will be singing in the Halalulia Choir will be glory for me, being in the presence of Jesus eternally will be my story. Thank God the race is not given to the swift, but to the one who endures unto the end. So my brothers and sisters as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him: For all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him. Rejoice now though you be in sorrow now, just know that in the presence of Jesus is joy forevermore.

  • #For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you and for them at Laodicea and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God and of the Father and of Christ; In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col. 2:1-3

Paul had a great conflict for the brothers at Laodicea since many had not seen his face in the flesh and his desire is that they would be knit together in love one to another. As well as their full assurance and understanding of the mystery of God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a theme of the book of Colossians and we, too today need to know all the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ. For we live in a day when the men are ever learning but not coming to the knowledge of the truth of Christ Jesus. Living in a pandemic of the coronavirus and many people are suffering loneliness due to the isolation of the decease, we need more than ever to be knit together in the Love of God. It is my prayer that many Christians will take it to heart to check on their elderly parents and encourage them in the faith. Christ will come soon to take us away from the presence of sin and give us our glorified bodies. So let us hold on to the faith looking to Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith.

  • #Whom we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. Col. 1:28,29

Paul and Timotheus labored every day striving with the people of God, as well as the enemies of the cross mightily and we too as ministers of the gospel will have to strive by preaching to every man, warning every man to present every man perfect before Christ Jesus. What does it mean to be perfect? That term means to be spiritually mature in Christ Jesus. On the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus told us to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. We are made perfect by the Blood of Jesus and are sanctified by the Holy Spirit. When God looks at us He sees us perfect in Christ. We will receive the crown of righteousness by loving the appearing of Christ when He returns in the clouds for the Church. It is a blessing to know that we are perfect in Christ and will one day stand before the Lord to give an accounting for our lives. May we be able to say as Paul said: I fought a good fight, I kept the faith, and I have finished my course. Then we will receive that crown of righteousness and cast it at the feet of Jesus.

  • #Even the mystery which hath been hidden from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of the mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you the hope of glory: Col. 1:26,27

The Greek word for mystery is mysterion which is Christ in you the hope of glory which has been preached among Jews and Gentiles. We thank God that He has revealed this to us in these last days of grace. This word has been used in documentaries but has been known for Sacred mysteries of Christianity. God told Paul these mysteries of the faith involving the rapture of the church. So that is when Jesus will catch all those who have trusted in Christ away in the clouds: this is our hope for glory and we are to comfort one another with these words.

  • #Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God; Col. 1:24-25

Paul rejoiced in the sufferings for Christ for the Colossians, which was for the body's sake for the church. So I too thank God for my afflictions in Christ for I know that my sufferings are making me more like Christ and I will rejoice that the power of Christ is being manifested in me. Being a minister requires suffering many things, even the separation of a wife can be an example of the affliction that we must endure. It is the will of God that we live a holy life and possess our bodies in sanctification and honor.

  • #And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Col. 1:21-23

We were sometime alienated and enemies in our mind by wicked works, from the accuser of the brethren, Satan, but we have been reconciled by Jesus in the body of His flesh through death on the cross to present us holy, unblameable, and unreproveable in His sight. The key is if we continue in the faith grounded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel. I worked in the repair business working on electrical appliances and it required that I not were anything that was a conductor and I had to wear rubber shoes so I would be grounded from electrical shock. In the same way, we have to put on the whole armor of Jesus Christ to keep us grounded and settled in the faith, such as the shield of faith. This is what Paul did to become a minister of the gospel that has been preached to every creature under heaven. I praise God for I too have become a minister of this gospel in the same way.

  • #And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. Col. 1:18-21

Jesus is the head of the body, the church, and by resurrecting from the dead He became the firstborn from the dead. Christ has preeminence over all things and it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness dwells. Thank God that He made peace through the blood of His cross. Now we are reconciled to God by himself and have been given the ministry of reconciliation. Jesus has reconciled all things by himself, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. Now we have a future in Christ the head of the Church.

  • #In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are in the earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And He is before all things and by Him, all things consist. Col. 1:14-17

Thank God for Jesus Christ, for in Him we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Now we no longer have to feel guilty over past sins, for we are forgiven and God has cast our sins in the depts of the oceans and no fishing allowed. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Jesus is the second person of the trinity, whom the Father sent into the world born of the virgin Mary so that he could be the God-man in His hypostatic union He is very God and very man. By Him, all things were created that are in heaven and that are in the earth, visible and invisible whether they be thrones, or dominions, principalities, or powers: these are the angelic beings in heaven, for all things were created by him: And he is before all things and by him, all things consist.
