A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

#And sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men, as every man had need. Acts 2:45
The Church at Jerusalem did the most humanitarian of things by selling their goods and parted them to all men, as every man had needs. Today with the Separation of Church and State this is what is needed, since the Church does not pay taxes it should be distributing the goods of the Church to everyone that has a need. Yet with all these natural disasters, FEMA has to step in to help those suffering from loss. I pray more churches will get involved with doing the Lord's work and help the homeless, as well as the downtrodden. Jesus said in Matt. 25 I was hungry and you feed me, I was naked and ye clothed me, I was in prison and ye visited me, in as much as ye have done it unto the least of these you have done it unto me. This is Christianity in shoe leather this is as the Preacher J. Vernon Magee use to say "this is where the rubber meets the road"
#And all that believed were together and had all things common; Acts 2:44
The Jerusalem Church was filled with the Spirit and walking in love all they were all united and had all things in common; as many sold possessions and gave to as many as had needs. This is the love that we are to provoke in one another as we see the Day of Christ appear. Our prayers go out to all those in Lousiana who lost property and are without power May we help them as we are able in this time of Crisis. Climate change is making these Hurricanes rapidly intensify with a destructive path as a category four which does not happen often and it happened on the sixteenth anniversary of Katrina in 2005. Jesus said in Luke 21:11 that the seas and the waves would be roaring and on the earth distress of nations with perplexity before His coming. We must lift up our heads for our redemption draws nigh.
#And fear came upon every soul and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. Acts 2:43
#Me too this is a fearful hashtag that one can remember as being a harassment member and fear comes on everyone in this position. This is similar to the situation that the Israelites found themselves in after all the signs and wonders that the apostles had done after Peter had preached the gospel. We must confess our sins and repent of them then the Lord Jesus Christ will cleanse us and restore us to justification, then sanctification, and ultimately glorification at the coming of the Lord. Thank God for He has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. No matter what you have done in your past you do not have to be fearful about what will happen to you. II Cor. 5:17 if any man is in Christ Jesus he is a new creation all things have become new, and old things are passed away. Praise God that He casts our sins in the depts of the oceans, and remembers them no more. So do not fear, but thank God for the wonders and signs that the apostles did because they proved what a mighty God we serve.
#And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2;42
These four pillows of the Church are known as the Koinonia of the gospel. The apostles' doctrine, fellowship, the Lord's Supper, and prayers. When we do these things the Church has all things in common, as everyone gave of their possessions to others who had a need in the body of Christ. This is looked upon as Socialism today by the Government, but with the separation of the Church from the State it is just people doing what the Lord said to do: It is better to give than to receive. May the Lord touch our hearts to help those Afghans coming from Kabul as refugees in the settlement in the United States. As we are all people of immigrants and it is the American way to give of ourselves in helping others and as we do that we are being the arms, hands, and feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. My prayers go out to all those in the path of Hurricane Ida and that many lives will be spared from the brunt of the storm.
#Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41
After Peter had proclaimed the gospel they gladly received his word than were baptized the same day and there were three thousand souls added to the one hundred and twenty in the upper room. What a blessing that proves that when the word of God is preached it does not return void. We pray that the word of God will continue to go out in this coronavirus pandemic and for many souls to be added to the body of Christ. Our prayers go out for the servicemen in the military that lost their lives in Kabul Afghanistan. We pray also for President Biden to make the right decisions regarding getting the remaining Americans out of the county before the August 31, 2021 deadline.
#And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Acts 2:40
Peter is using all the words in his vocabulary to testify and exhort the Israelites saying save yourselves from this untoward generation. For we must shine as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation. Jesus said as it was in the days of Noah and Lot, so shall it be when the Son of man comes to establish His kingdom. I tell you the truth when the Son of Man comes will He find any faith on the earth? We are living in the days of apostasy and it will be complete apostasy when the Son of Man comes back to earth. I pray that we will continue to be a witness for Him and show His love to a loveless generation. Jesus said because iniquity would abound, the love of many would wax cold. I tell you the truth we are seeing that today with the rise in homicides in this pandemic. People have lost their way and need the truth of the gospel to set them free from this untoward generation.
#For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:39
Peter is reminding the men of Israel that the promise of the Holy Spirit is not to them only, but unto their children, as well as those afar off, even as many as the Lord our God should call. Jews and Gentiles are being called into the Body of Christ. This is the great work of the Holy Spirit that as the gospel goes out men and women are called into the family of God. We need to continue to be faithful in the vineyard of the Lord as it is the eleventh hour and the Lord is about to descend from heaven with the voice of the arc angel and the dead in Christ will be raised first, then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds to forever be with the Lord. So praise God for the promise of the Holy Spirit for He redeems us until that great Day of the Lord comes.
#Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
Peter is filled with the Holy Spirit and has told the men of Israel what to do and that is to repent and be baptized. The Greek word for repent is metanoia which is a change of mind about Jesus and the Greek word is baptizo which is to be emersed in water for the remission of sins, then the gift of the Holy Spirit will be given to you. This was manifested in speaking of tongues, but not all speak in tongues who have received the gift of the Holy Spirit. We must bear the fruits of the Spirit Gal. 5:22 Love, joy, meekness, kindness, gentleness, patience, self-control against such there is no law. What a joy to be sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of our redemption in Jesus Christ which will happen at the Purusia of Christ in the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are all those in the first resurrection and the second death will have no hold on them.
#Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men, and brethren, what shall we do? Acts 2:37
This is the conviction of the word of God by the Spirit of God upon the people of Israel and godly sorrow leads men to repentance. That is the question for us today what shall we do? God has spoken by His word through the apostle Peter who is now bold to declare the word of God and all of us are accountable for the word that we have heard. When the gospel goes out it does not return void, for the word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword. I thank God that when He said whosoever will let him come. As the day of grace is open to all Jews and Gentiles, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It is only through the blood of the atonement that we can be reconciled back to God. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Jesus is that gift and when we receive Him into our heart the Holy Spirit cleanses us of all our sin then we are justified before God. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17
#Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Acts 2:36
Peter moved by the Spirit told the Israelites that God had made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. That is the Savior and the Anointed One, the Messiah promised before the foundations of the world. We are now in a position to receive this same Jesus as our Lord and Savior, as He is the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world world. Thank God that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father until His enemies are made thy footstool. Let us draw nigh to Him with a contrite heart and receive Him today as your personal Savior.
