Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Thus saith the LORD; though they are quiet and likewise many, Yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more. Nahum 1:12

The Hebrew word for Afflict is Anah which means to be bowed down. Ecclesiastes 1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out wisdom concerning all things done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. So let us rejoice in the afflictions that God sends our way. The Psalmist said before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep thy law. The chastening of the present is grievous but afterward, it yields the peaceable fruits of righteousness to those exercised thereby. The Lord will not afflict us anymore when we keep His statutes. This is the lesson He teaches us for all those He loves He chastens. So thank God that you are His child because He does not chasen the devil's children. Revelation 1:9 I John, who also am your brother and companion in the tribulation and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle called Patmos, for the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. This was done to the apostle John to teach us that sometimes He isolates and afflicts us to use us for His glory. So thank God and praise for weeping may be for a night but joy comes in the morning.

  • #There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counselor. Nahum 1:11

The Hebrew word for imagineth is Chashab which means to think or account. This is a primitive root; properly, to plait or interpenetrate, I.e. literally to weave. Isaiah 10:7 Howbeith he meaneth not so but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few. This is a picture of these Ninevites having an imaginary plot against Jehovah God. So God who used the Assyrians to punish His people for not keeping the commandments of the Lord now God will take vengeance upon these Ninevites. This is what Jonah wanted to see happen in his lifetime. The scripture tells us vengeance is for the Lord. So we must give way for the wrath of the Lord to be accomplished in due time. God does not take pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. So He waited until that generation that repented under the preaching of Jonah died off, then God finally judged the Ninevites for their crimes. So fret not thyself when the wicked prosper as the green Bay tree they will soon be cut off. So praise God that He always keeps His word and no one escapes the judgment of God.

  • #For while they are folden together as thorns and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry. Nahum 1:10

The Hebrew word for stubble is. Qash which means chaff.Exodus 5:12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw. This is a picture of the Ninevites who have been scattered abroad as stubble and Qash. This is a lesson to us to follow God with our whole hearts.Hebrews 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. So as we prepare to take the Lord's Supper let us examine ourselves.

  • #What do ye imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. Nahum 1:9

The Hebrew word for imagine is Chashab which means to think. And make an account. Isaiah 33:8 The highways lie waste, the wagering man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regarded no man. This is a picture of the Ninevites. The Hebrew word for wayfaring is Abar to pass over. Thus these Ninevites have passed over the repentance of their grandparents and done wickedly themselves. They refuse to seek the mercy of God so He will pass over them and move on. I Samuel 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and the words: because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. The prophet Samuel told Saul that partial obedience is a sin. To obey is better than sacrifice. We must obey totally the commands of Jehovah God and stop making excuses for our disobedience. For rebellion is the sin of witchcraft. I pray that we can learn from the sin of these Ninevites and not repeat it.

  • #But with an overturning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof and darkness shall pursue his enemies. Nahum 1:8

The Hebrew word for overturning is Abar meaning to pass over and pass on. Genesis 15:17 And it came to pass, that when the sun went down and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. Jehovah God passes over the Ninevites with a burning lamp and darkness shall pursue all his enemies. The Lord keeps all his promises for his mercy is everlasting, but his patience is not. Psalm 7:11 God judges the righteous and God is angry with the wicked every day. That generation of Ninevites repented at the preaching of Jonah And now God is angry at the wicked generation that followed and failed to remember the great mercy of God. So like a flood darkness has come upon them. Thank the Lord that the Senate has passed the debt limit bill sending it to the President to sign it. Thank God for answered prayer and may we pass our righteousness to our children's children so the Lord will not be angry at them. We must always praise God in their presence so that they will never forget the faithfulness of the Lord.

  • #The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and He knoweth them that trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

Today is the First day of Hurricane Season and Meteorological Summer. Thank the Lord He is a stronghold in the day of trouble. The Hebrew word for stronghold is Maoz or Maud meaning a place of safety and protection. Elnino is in force and we should have fewer hurricanes but it only takes one like Harvy in 2017 to wreak havoc in our lives. This is why the name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous runs to Him and is safe. We thank God for the Meteorologist who warns us of approaching storms. So let us stock up on our Hurricane supplies before the storm comes. The most important thing is to trust Jehovah God will protect us as our stronghold in the day of trouble. He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him. He is a good God and does not give us more than we can bear. For who is God save the LORD? Or who is a rock save our God? Let us magnify the Lord with me for He is exalted and just praise His Holy name.

  • #Who can stand before his indignation? And who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire and the rocks are thrown down by him. Nahum 1:6

The Hebrew word for rocks is Tsur which means a boulder a refuse on the edge. Exodus 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb and thou shalt smite the rock and there shall water come out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. What a picture of the Lord Jesus who is our Rock and he told us the parable of the wise man that built his house upon the rocks and the storms came and rains beat upon that house, Yet it stood because it was founded upon the Lord Jesus. The foolish built their house upon the sand and the storms came and rains beat upon that house and great was the fall of that house. These Ninevites have been building upon the sand and the indignation of the Lord will tear them down. The lesson for us is to build our house on the Rock. This Rock is Jesus and He will carry us through the storms of life.

  • #The mountains quake at Him and the hills melt and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world and all that dwell therein. Nahum 1:5

The Hebrew word for. quake is Raash to shake; to undulate (as the earth, the sky, etc also a field of grain) Joel 2:10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark and the stars shall withdraw their shining: This is a picture of the Day of The Lord when God has promised He will shake heaven and earth. Hebrews 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth but now He hath promised,  saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. We need to warn our friends and neighbors they had better repent of all this gun violence and turn to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. For when He comes He will land on the Mount of Olives and so great will be the earthquake that it will be split in two.

  • # He rebuked the sea and maketh it dry and dried up all the rivers: Bashan languished and Carmel and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. Nahum 1:4

Happy Memorial Day to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Greater love hath no man than this, that he lays down his life for his friend. The Hebrew word for languisheth is Amal which means to be weak. And to mourn Jerimiah 14:2 Judah mourned and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up. God will punish these Ninevites for the sins they committed against Judah, and Jerusalem's cry will have gone up. Let us cry for America to return to the Lord and cry for her sins to be forgiven. God is a merciful God and He does not keep wrath forever. Pray for a time of refreshing so that our sins will be washed away under the blood of Jesus. Then God will forgive our sins and heal our land. The weather will be better and we can spend time with our loved ones with the fear of the Lord.

  • #The LORD is slow to anger and great in power and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Nahum 1:3

The Hebrew word for clouds is Anan. The Nimbus thundercloud. From Anan a cloud (a covering the sky), I.e. The nimbus or thundercloud. Hoses 6:4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? For your goodness is as the morning cloud and as the early dew it goeth away. Jehovah God will have His way in the whirlwind and the Anan is as the early dew goes away. The clouds are His chariots for Jesus will step out in the clouds and call all those in the graves that trusted in Him to come up hither and those that remain will be changed in a moment and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Then the wicked will go into the great tribulation where the storm clouds will carry them away in the whirlwind. For Jehovah shall punish the Ninevites for their violence. Nahum means comfort and this message of judgment will comfort Judah who suffered captivity at the hands of the Assyrians. Nineveh today is Mosul Iraq and is no longer the powerhouse capital of Assyria anymore. We must warn the wicked to repent before the coming Day of the Lord which shall be darkness. The Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. We would sing the great hymn in the Church " Jesus is getting us ready for that great day who shall be able to stand"
