Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

The Greek word for hindered is Ekkopto meaning to cut down and to frustrate. Matthew 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off and cast them from thee: it is better for Thee to enter into life halt or mained,  rather than having two hands and two feet to be cast into everlasting fire. Peter is comparing the husband wife relationship to the body. Since ye shall be one flesh to dwell with them according to knowledge, treating them as the weaker vessel so that your prayers will not be hindered or frustrated and cut off. As Jesus said if your hand or your foot offend you, it is better to cut them off, so that you will not be cast into hell fire. This is telling us how we must love our wives and be willing to Maine ourselves to strengthen the relationship. So this is the love that Christ has for the Church in that He laid down His life for the Church. We must do likewise and be willing to lay our lives down for our wives. This will keep our prayer life Holy and complete.

  • #Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well and is not afraid with any amazement. 1 Peter 3::6

The Greek word for amazement is Ptoesis meaning a fluttering, excitement, and terror. Proverbs 3:25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolations of the wicked when it cometh. Peter is telling wives to obey their husbands, as Sara did Abraham calling him Lord. Whose daughters ye are just do not fear as when destruction comes on the wicked when it comes. For God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. Therefore let the older women teach the wives how to love and obey the husband.

  • #For after this manner in old times the Holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands. 1 Peter 3:5

The Greek word for old time is Pote meaning once, ever. At some time in the past. John 9:13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. That Greek word for a aforetime is Pote and the Pharisees did not believe Jesus had restored the young man born blind's Eye sight. Jesus had told them he was born blind at an aforetime for the will of God. This is the same word for old times for Holy women to be in subjection to their own husbands in the Lord. Now if you are married to an unbelieving husband you must submit to him also, as long as he does not ask you to do anything contrary to the Word of God. Live a holy life as God has called us to be Holy or set apart for His use. Therefore glorify God by the way you talk and dress so that your husband will be pleased with you.

  • # But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 1 Peter 3:4

Happy Labor Day serve your neighbors look out for the elderly. The Greek word for hidden is Kryptos meaning concealed, i.e. Private. Inwardly secret. From Krupto. Matthew 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed and hid, that shall not be known. This is the context that Peter is talking about God knows our hearts and the gospel that wives are to preach is a meek and quiet spirit. Which in the sight of God is of great price. This is the hidden man of the heart. For God will reveal your pious life at the Judgment Seat of Christ. These ornaments will be made known for all to see.

  • #Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of braidng the hair and of wearing gold, or of putting on of apparel; 1Peter 3:3

The Greek word for adorning is Kosmos meaning order or worldliness from Komizo orderly arrangement, i.e. Decoration. Proverbs 31:30. Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised. This is what Peter is talking about not having the Kosmos or orderly arrangements of this world such as wearing gold and fine apparel for beauty is vain and favor deceitful, but the woman that fears God Jehovah, she shall be praised. Such as Sarah was a virtuous woman and she called Abraham yes my Lord as a sign of obedience to the will of God and she was praised for doing so. That is what women should emulate.

  • #While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 1 Peter 3:2

The Greek word for chaste is Hagnos free from ceremonial defilement, holy: and sacred. From the same Hagios properly clean i.e. innocent and modest. Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. This is very important for wives to be Holy in their conversation. Not gossips or busy bodies but staying at home tending to the children and wearing the proper attire. This is antiquated today but this must be done so that the word of God will not be blaspemed or evil spoken of. This is how you win the unbelieving husband to the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • #Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands: that if any obey not the word, they also may without the Word be won by the conversation of the wives; 1 Peter 3:1

The Greek word for subjection is Hypotasso meaning to place or rank under and to obey. I Corinthians 15:27 For He hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he excepted, which did put all things under him. In the same way, as the Lord Jesus is head of the Church and God the Father is head of the Son. So the man is head of the woman in marriage,  and she must come under the rank of her own husband. This does not mean that the husband is superior to the wife for they are one flesh. Just as God the Father is one with the Son and put all things under Him including the man. So let us submit to one another in the fear of God. For we shall all give an account of our stewardship to the Lord Jesus Christ at the Bema Seat. So wives you will win your husband by living a pure life. Not preaching to him but loving and obeying him in the Lord

  • #For ye were as sheep going astray but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. 1 Peter 2:25

The Greek word for astray is Planao meaning to cause to wander, deceive, err, or seduce. To roam from safety, truth, or virtue. Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Jehovah God laid on the Lord Jesus Christ the iniquity of us all. Now we have stopped going astray and have submitted to the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls. As David said the Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want for He leads me in green pastures and anointed my soul. This is what Jesus the Great Shepherd and Bishop of our souls does to us when we allow Him to lead us in green pastures. This is why we must feed on the word of God. Jesus said man shall not live on bread alone but on every word from the mouth of God our heavenly Father.

  • #Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

The Greek word for healing. Laomai. Meaning to make whole and to cure. Luke 4:18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. The Greek word for bruised is Thrauo meaning to break in pieces. Thank God for Jesus for He is our Jehovah Rapha who heals us spiritually and physically from being broken in pieces. He sets us free from our sins and restores our eyesight so that we can see. Just like He put mud on the blind man's eyes and the blind man was able to see. This man had been blind from birth for the glory of God. When the blind man was asked who opened his eyes? He said I was blind and now I see. He gave all the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why the Spirit of the Lord anointed. Jesus to preach the gospel to the poor. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God.
