Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. 1 Peter 3:17

The Greek word for suffer is Pascho meaning to be acted on. Including Pentho a primary verb for passion and vex. Hebrews 2:18 For in that He Himself suffered being tempted. The Lord Jesus in His hypostatic union being very God and man preempted Himself of the prerogatives of Deity, and was tempted as we are and yet without sin. For He learned obedience by the things He suffered. Therefore, we too must learn obedience through suffering passionately, being evil spoken of, and not by not retaliation. When we do this God is pleased, for we are being like Jesus.

  • #Having a good conscience that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 1 Peter 3:16

The Greek word for conversation is Anastrophe meaning behavior or conduct. Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the Church of God and wasted it: When you have a mental illness you will hear voices telling you to do things that are not godly. In order to have a good conscious you must not obey those voices, but the Spirit of God telling you to do good. So that others who falsely accuse you will be ashamed of your good conduct in the Church. Paul had a thorn in the flesh and prayed to Jesus three times to take it away. Nevertheless, Jesus said my grace is sufficient. My strength is made perfect in my weakness. So take your medication and boast in the grace of God. Even if you have schizoeffective disorder the grace of God and the medication will see you through it all.

  • #But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. 1 Peter 3:15

The Greek word for meekness is Prautes meaning gentleness. From Praus; mildness, I.e. humility. This is one of the nine fruits of the Spirit. So set apart Jesus in your heart and with humility answer every man that asks you about your Christian faith. Do not engage in arguments. So Jesus told us not to cast our pearls among the swine. Therefore, if they will not accept you shake the dust off for a witness against them on the day of judgment.

  • #But and if ye suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. 1 Peter 3:14

The Greek word for happy is Makarios meaning blessed. A prolonged form of the poetic maker supremely blest; by extension, fortunate, and well off. Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Jesus preached the most excellent sermon on the Mount of Olives and used the same Greek word Makarios. That is why Peter used it for those who suffer for righteousness' sake, Happy are ye for as Jesus saith such is the kingdom of God. Jesus told us blessed are you when they persecute you for my name's sake. That is why we must not be afraid of their terror. Or be troubled. Therefore, seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you. Matt. 6:33

  • #And who is he that will harm you if ye be followers of that which is good? 1 Peter 3:13

The Greek word for harm is Kakoo meaning to ill-treat. From Kalos to injure; figuratively to exasperate. Acts 18:10 For I am with Thee and no man shall set on Thee to hurt thee: for I have many people in this city. The Lord comforts Peter that He is with him and no one can hurt you in this city. Trust in the Lord and do good, so shall thou dwell in the land and verily thou shall be Fed. This is why God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.

  • #For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and His ears are open unto their prayers but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 1 Peter 3:12

The Greek word for evil is Kakos meaning bad. Apparently a primary word; is worthless (intrinsically, whereas Poneros properly refers to effects) i.e.depraved. Philippians 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. The Greek word for concision is Katatome. meaning mutilation. So the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord is against those evil workers who plot mutilation. So beware of where you walk and who you hang out with. For evil companions corrupt good manners.

  • #Let him eschew evil and do good: let him seek peace And ensure it. 1 Peter 3:11

Remember September 11, 2001, we will not forget. The Greek word for eschew is. Ekklino means to turn away and avoid.  To deviate, i..e. to shun. Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, Mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned and avoid them. Jesus said offenses would come but woe to him that causes them. If your brother offends you rebuke him and if he repented forgive him. Peter asked Jesus how many times shall I forgive my brother seven times? Jesus said no but seventy times seven. That is how we avoid evil and ensure peace. What makes today a day to remember, is that for the first time since Peal Habor America was attacked. God gives nations the right to wage war against those who start wars. Now as Christians, we must seek to be at peace with all men and follow holiness; for without holiness, no man will see the Lord. So Mark those who cause divisions in the body of Christ and avoid them. Live at peace with all men as much as possible. Forgive your brother if he sins against you and repent. This will protect the body from bitterness, whereby many be defiled. That is why Jesus gave us the secret to forgiveness. 70x7 the perfect number 490 times. Seven in the Bible is the number for completion. So completely forgive and do not harbor vengeance. The Lord will take care of that.

  • #For he that will love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile. 1 Peter 3:10

The Greek word for guile is Dolos meaning craft and deceit. Matthew 26:4 And they consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty and kill Him. The Greek word for subtilty is Dolos This is what Peter is saying We must speak the truth in love and not guile if you love life. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. The tongue is set on fire from hell. We must bridle the tongue by the power of the Holy Spirit. My Mom always said if you do not have anything good to say about someone, then shut your mouth. This is how to keep the peace with all men and walk in holiness.

  • #Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing but contrariwise blessing: knowing that ye are whereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:9

The Greek word for railing is. Loidiria meaning abuse. From Loidoros meaning slander or vituperation. 1 Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. Peter is telling the wives not to slander after being slandered, but to give a blessing, since we will inherit a blessing. Paul tells Timothy to have the young women marry and have children; being keepers at home. Not giving the enemy an opportunity to speak evil of them. This is how the Christian home is to be Holy and separated to God.

  • #Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous. 1 Peter 3:8

The Greek word for pitiful is Eusplanchnos. Meaning tender-hearted and compassionate I.e. sympathetic Ephesians 4:32 And be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Peter & Paul use the same Greek word for pitiful or tender-hearted. Love as brethren being compassionate, and forgiving as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you. I thank God for Pastor Coultor who helped me at a difficult time in my ministry helping me to restore a relationship for a couple that I ministered to on the job. We must love the Greek word Agape which is unconditional love that God has for us and we can forgive as Christ has forgiven us. Showing kindness one to another in acts of kindness such as a foot and neck massage. Jesus washed the disciples' feet teaching them humility and love. Jesus said a new commandment Give I to you that you love one another as I have loved you.
