A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

#But of these who seemed to be somewhat (whatsoever they were it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person: or they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me: Galatians 2:6
The Greek word for nothing is Oudeis; no one or none. Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving but ye only. We are nothing with God, for He spoke the world into creation by the word of His power. God spoke something to nothing and nothing became something. When we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Personal Savoir we become something that can be used for the glory of God.
#To whom we gave place by subjection, not for an hour, that the gospel's truth might continue with you. Galatians 2:5
The Greek word for subjection is Hypotage, from Hupotasso; meaning subordination. 1 Timothy 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. God gave the woman a husband so that she could learn the gospel in silence. This is what Paul is teaching the Galatians to do so that the gospel can continue with you. Wait I say on the Lord and He will strengthen you, and help you to overcome all the false doctrine from the false teachers who came into the Church unawares. My prayer is that you will be filled with the knowledge of the will of God for your lives. Wives submit to their husbands in the Lord, and if you are separated wait on the Lord to reconcile the marriage by living a sanctimonious life.
#And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage. Galatians 2:4
The Greek word for unawares is Pareisaktos; meaning brought in secretly. From Pareisago; in smuggled in surreptitiously brought;2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction. This is what the Judieziers were doing to the Galatians, demanding that not only by faith in Christ can they be saved, but by doing the Mosaic Law. This is the other gospel Paul warned that if any or an angel preached they were accursed. or anathema the Greek word. We must guard against these false teachers smuggled in privily to deceive us by not letting them into our homes or wishing them Godspeed.
#But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised. Galatians 2:3
The Greek word for circumcised is Pertemno; meaning to cut around from Peri and the base of Tomoteros; to cut around, i.e. (especially) to circumcise. This was a cut off of one's prepuce done the eighth day to the male children of Israel, but subsequently also proselytes of righteousness. consecrated to Jehovah. Acts 15:1 And certain men who came down from Judaea taught the brethren and said, " Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. Paul would later have Timothy circumcised whose mother was a Jew, and his father a Greek, just to please the Jews. The Church is not under the Mosiac Law and therefore is not to be circumcised. God wants our hearts to be circumcised only. We do that when we place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
#And I went up by revelation and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run or had run in vain. Galatians 2:2
The Greek word for reputation is Dokeo; meaning to have an opinion, to seem. A prolonged form of a primary verb. Dolo Dol'o (used only in an alternate in certain tenses, compare the base of Deiknuo) of the same meaning; to think by implication, to seem (truthfully or uncertain) to seem good. 2 Corinthian 11:16 I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little. Philippians 2:7 But made himself of no reputation and took upon Him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men. The Lord Jesus made Himself of no reputation but took the form of a servant. Paul is saying men count reputation a great deal, and because of that, he sought them that were of reputation, lest by any means I should run or had run in vain. We must guard our reputation for there are those who will try to destroy our reputation as ministers. Paul said to think of me as a fool that I may have a little to boast of myself. Yet we are called fools because of the cross of Christ, and that is a good thing.
#Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and took Titus with me also. Galatians 2:1
The Greek name for Barnabas was of Chaldee origin (Diakoneo and Tacha) son of Nabas (i.e. Prophecy) Barnabas was an Israelite. His surname was Joses (better than Joseph). a Levite, a native of Cyprus. He was a distinguished teacher of the Christian religion and companion and colleague of Paul. Titus the Greek name was Titos, a Christian. of Latin origin but uncertain significance. The praenomen of a certain Corinthian, a Jewish proselyte, also surnamed Justus Acts 18:7 And he departed thence and entered into a certain man's house named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue. So these two men were very good to Paul when he went up after fourteen years again to Jerusalem. They helped the saints and were responsible for them being called Christians first at Antioch.
#And they glorified God in me. Galatians 1:24
The Greek word for glorified is Doxazo; meaning to render or esteem glorious from Doxa; to render (or esteem) glorious, to honor and magnify. Yes, this is the doxology to praise, honor, and glory from Dokeo; glory, dignity, and worship. Hebrews 3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses since He who built the house hath more honor than the house. Wherefore holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus. This is what Paul taught the Galatians to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ when he preached. As John said I must decrease and He must increase. We must do this as ministers in our preaching to exalt God our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ our Lord.
#But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. Galatians 1:23
The Greek word for preacheth is Euangelizo; meaning to announce good news from the EU and Aggelos; to announce good news ( evangelize) especially the gospel, to declare glad tidings. Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth and to every nation and kindred, and tongue, and people. Paul is going to preach the everlasting gospel, just like the angels will do in the great tribulation on earth to all kindred, and tongue and people. What a glorious time this will be for Jesus has said that this gospel would be preached to the whole world, then the end would come. We are living in the last days as the gospel is being preached over the Internet, Television, and Radio to all people to the glory of God.
#And was unknown by the face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: Galatians. 1:22
The Greek word for churches is Ekklesia; meaning an assembly a congregation. From especially a compound of Ek and a derivative of Kaleo; a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation ( Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both) Hebrews 2:12 Saying I will declare thy name unto my brethren, amid the church will I sing praise unto thee. The Lord Jesus will declare our name unto the brethren amid the church in heaven and sing praises unto thee. What a glorious day that will be. Paul and all the brethren in the church of Judaea in Christ will be known. As we have borne the image of the terrestrial we shall bear the image of the celestial. We will know as we are known in heaven.
#Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; Galatians 1:21
Syria was a region North and East of Palestine probably of Hebrew origin (Tsor) Syria (i.e. Tsyria or Tyre) was a region of Asia. bounded on the north by the Taurus and Amanus ranges, east by the Euphrates and Arabia, south by Palestine, and west by Phoenicia and the Mediterranean. Acts 21:3 Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand and sailed into Syria and landed at Tyre: for there, the ship was to unlade her burden. and finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit had warned Paul that bonds and afflictions waited for him. We must never be afraid to do the work of the Lord because of bonds and afflictions. We must through many trials and tribulations enter into that blessed kingdom. Cilicia was a province of Asia Minor, bounded on the north by Cappadocia, Lyesonia, and Isauria, on the south by the Mediterranean on the East by Syria, and on the west by Pamphylia. Its capital, Tarsus was the birthplace of Paul.
