A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

#But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Galatians 5:15
The Greek word for Bite is Dakno; meaning to bite. A prolonged form of the primary root, to bite, i.e. (figuratively) thwart. Metaphorically to wound the soul, cut, lacerate, and rend with reproaches. So even in Homer, Menander quoted in Athens and times without number in other authors. Paul is telling the Galatians to love one another and stop biting one another with their teeth, as the whole law of God is fulfilled in one word Love. We need to come together as a country, stand behind President-Elect Trump, and pray that God can use him to unite this country and that traditional marriage will once again be supreme in the Land. God made Adam for Eve, and not Steve, and it is time that we promote this kind of marriage for our grandchildren. What kind of a country do we want to leave for our children's children? One nation undivided, with Liberty, and Justice for all.
#For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Galatians 5:14
The Greek word for love is Agapao; to love. Compare Phileo from philos to be a friend, i.e have affection for; while agapao is wider embracing especially the judgment and the deliberate consent of the will as a matter of principle, duty, and propriety; the former being chiefly of the heart and latter of the head. To kiss as Paul told the church to greet one another with a kiss as a spirit of love. The whole law is fulfilled in this one word. John 5:20 For the Father loveth the Son and showeth Him all things that Himself doeth, and He will show Him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. Jesus said a new commandment give I unto thee, that you love one another as I have loved you. When we love our neighbor like ourselves we will do no evil to them. 1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God when we love God, and keep His commandments.
#For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13
The Greek word for serve is Douleuo; meaning to be a slave. Be in bondage, do service. From Doulos; to be a slave to (literal or figurative, involuntary or voluntary) 1 Timothy 6:2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. Paul is exhorting the Galatians to serve their masters lovingly and not to use their liberty as an opportunity to sin. We have not used the term slave since the Civil War, but the employer and employee relationship should be that of love, agape to unconditionally love one another as the Lord Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us on the cross. Now we are redeemed from the slavery of sin. So let us do good to all men, especially those of the household of faith. Pray for one another and serve as a waiter or waitress. For Jesus came not to be served, but to serve and give Himself a ransom for our sins.
#I would they were even cut off which troubles you. Galatians 5:12
The Greek word for cut-off is Apokopto; meaning to cut off. From Apo and kopto; to amputate reflexively ( irony) to mutilate (the privy parts) compare Katatome; meaning concision. Philippians 3:2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. Where Paul sarcastically alludes to the word that follows as though he would say keep your eye on that boasted circumcision or to call it by its true name concision or mutilation. Kata means down against. it retains many of these applications in composition and frequently denotes opposition, distribution, or intensity. Paul is agitated at these Judiezers and wants to mutilate them from the Galatians. We must follow the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provisions for the flesh. Matthew 8:32 And He said unto them, Go. When they came out, they went into the herd of swine, and behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished in the water. This is what Paul wants to happen to the Judiezers, just as Jesus cast out the demons from the man. May the Lord deliver us from all the works of the devil and save us by the power of the Holy Spirit.
#And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I suffer persecution? Then, the offense of the cross ceased. Galatians 5:11
The Greek word for persecution is Dioko; meaning to put to flight, pursue, by implication to persecute. Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. Jesus is telling us the cost of being a disciple that we will be persecuted and put in prison for His name's sake and brought before kings and rulers. We must keep the faith, for those who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. If you suffer with Christ you will reign with Him. God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. So rejoice in that you have been counted worthy to suffer for Him.
#I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded, but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. Galatians 5:10
Happy Veterans Day to all those who serve and have served. Greater love hath no man than this than to lay down his life for his friends. The Greek word for troubleth is Tarasso; meaning to stir up. Of uncertain affinity, to stir or agitate (roll water) trouble. I worked as an overhaul technician, and my job was to rebuild transmissions that caused the agitation in washing machines. This was a great job, and I was very satisfied. with it. God gives us the ability to earn income, but as it is with some people who agitate you in your work. This is what the Judiezers were doing to Paul as he was preaching salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but they were saying you are saved by keeping the Mosaic law. If anyone could be saved by keeping the law, then Jesus Christ died in vain. John 5:4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. Jesus asked the man who had an infirmity of thirty-eight years wilt thou be made whole? The man answered Him, Sir, I have no man when the water is troubled to put me into the pool. Jesus said to him Rise take up thy bed and walk. Afterward, Jesus findeth him in the temple and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole, sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. Many of us are in trouble because we continue to sin. Jesus healed this made and told him to sin no more lest a worse thing come unto him. What is the worst thing that can happen? The sin unto death. God uses trouble to keep us in tune with the word of God. For whom the Lord loves He chastens and no chastening seems joyous, but it works the peaceable fruits of righteousness to those exercised thereby. So thank God for your troubles for they came to make you a stronger Christian.
#A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Galatians 5:9
The Greek word for leaveneth is Zymoo; meaning to leaven. From Zume; to cause to ferment. Luke 13:21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. Then said Jesus, Unto what is the kingdom of God Like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into the garden and it grew and waxed a great tree, and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. Jesus is getting us ready for the kingdom of God and He wants us to love one another as He has loves us. Love keeps no record of wrongs, it is kind, forgiving, temperate, and meek. Let us sow these seeds wherever the Lord sends us and in due season we will reap a great harvest just as the farmer hopes. The kingdom of God is within us and we must advance the cause of righteousness, and justice throughout the whole land. For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.
#The persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. Galatians 5:8
The Greek word for persuasion is Peismone. From a presumed derivative of Peitho; meaning persuadableness. i.e Credulity in an active sense and contextually treacherous or deceptive. Peitho; to have confidence. A primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false) by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means) 1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. This is what Paul is seeking to tell the Galatians that the Holy Spirit calls us, not with persuasion of man's wisdom, but of God. Let us therefore come out from among them and touch not the unclean thing but live a life of Holiness.
#Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? Galatians 5:7
The Greek word for hinder is Anakopto; meaning to hinder. From Ana and Kopto; to bend back, i.e. check hinder the aorist tense to beat back, where the preceding that Paul was thinking of an obstructed road. A primary verb is to chop; especially, to beat the breast in grief, to cut down, lament, and to mourn. Compare the base of Tomoteros. Matthew 21:8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees and strawed them in the way. Paul is asking the Galatians who cut their way from obeying the gospel's truth. Just as the people were placing palm branches from the trees to celebrate Jesus as the Messiah, then five days later would be saying crucify Him. We must be careful to obey the scriptures and all they said about the Son of Man must suffer meaningful things, and be rejected by the elders, crucified, buried, and raised from the dead for our offenses. The truth will save us, but it will cause us to have many enemies. Paul asked the question have I become your enemy because I tell you the truth?
#For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. Galatians 4:6
The Greek word for love is the agape word. Song of Solomon 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house and his banner over me was love. This is the love that the Lord Jesus has for His bride the Church. Unconditional love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, and love; these three; but the greatest of these is love. This is the fulfillment of the law. The royal law is to love God with all our hearts, minds, and souls, this is the first commandment and the second is like unto it; love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hangs all the law and the prophets. So thank God the election is over and now it is time to unite in love and pray for the president-elect Trump. If you did not vote do not complain because your candidate did not win. We must pray for all our leaders so that we can live a peaceful life.
