Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 2 Corinthians 4:5

The Greek word for servants is Doulos; for a slave, a bond servant, a voluntary, fully devoted servant. Paul speaks about himself as an apostle and minister of the gospel. But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hidden, it is hidden to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; for this is the will of God, who allows us to be in these situations for His glory so that He is justified in redeeming us. So we are voluntary slaves and bond servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we reflect His glorious light into others by the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, let us not despair, though we are perplexed, but let us thank God for always leading us into triumphant victories. The Greek word for preach is Kerusso, meaning the herald of divine truth. It is God who gives us the power to shine as lights and herald divine truth to those walking in darkness, so that the glorious light of Jesus will shine on them, as it did on Paul on the Damascus road. In this we rejoice and praise God, and give Him all the glory for these things. Paul could say Praise God that Christ is being preached, and souls are being saved. As the hymn goes, it will be worth it all when we see Jesus. That is the blessed hope of the Church that one day Jesus will step out in the clouds and shout Come up hither, and we shall be translated from earth to heaven. So this is why we are not in despair.

  • #And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not. Mark 5:7           Even the demons fear the Lord

The Greek word for torment is Basanizo, meaning to torture. or vex. How do we know when someone has demon possession or mental illness? We see this man possessed by a legion of demons and has superhuman strength. With mental illness, the person hears voices and suffers from paranoia, but does not have superhuman strength. This man, because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces; neither could any man tame him. And always night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him. Even the demons fear the Lord and worship Him. Then Jesus said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And He washed him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying my name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought Him much that He would not send them away out of the country. So there is a difference between mental illness and demon possession. A Christian cannot be possessed by a demon, but anyone who deals in the occult can be. Jesus is Lord of all, and even demons fear the Lord, so we must warn people not to get involved in necromancy. Also, get rid of wegie boards and burn them up. Mental illness can be treated with medication and therapy. So if you are suffering from mental illness, seek out therapy. There is a stigma behind mental illness, and many people are ashamed to acknowledge that they have it. Just like the body gets sick, so does the mind. Therefore, see a doctor even when your mind is sick so that you can get well. Thank God that Jesus can exorcise demons as He did with this demoniac. If you see a loved one suffering from this illness, be sure to identify whether it is demon possession or mental illness, for there are some similarities. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. So watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. For the flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing. Study the Bible every day and build your inner man up with strength from above. God will keep us from the evil one. For this whole world lies in the hands of the devil, and be sure not to associate with the things of the occult. Even the demons fear the Lord, for they know they will be punished in the lake of fire. That is why the legion begged Jesus not to torment them before their time. A legion is six thousand demons, and that is why this man had superhuman strength, but it is no match for the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • #Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalms 1:1       Watch where you walk, stand, and sit

The Hebrew word for Blessed is Esher, which means Happiness. The Psalmist is telling us how to be happy and successful in life. Watch where you walk, for there are many ungodly people all around us, and they do not appreciate godly people. Jesus warned us that in the last days, they would hate those who are good. So walk with the wise and you will be happy and godly. Then we need to watch where we stand, for many sinners are standing around us trying to trip us up along the way, so make sure you are standing with good people, for bad communications corrupt good manners. Paul taught us to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, for God is watching over the righteous and will keep our feet from stumbling. Then, finally, we should watch where you sit, for many sinners are sitting in the seat of the scornful. The Hebrew word for scornful is Luwts, which means to make mouths at, to scoff, and have in derision. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which driveth away. Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. John 12:35 Then Jesus said unto them Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. God is light, and there is no darkness in Him. So if you want to be happy, watch where you walk, and watch where you stand, and watch where you sit. May the Lord bless you to do all these things, and you will be like that tree planted by the water. God will bless you, and the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Though he stumbles, he will always get up. If a righteous man falls seven times, he will always get up.

  • #Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Galatians 6:1       Restore such an one in the spirit of meekness

The Greek word for spiritual is Pneumatikos; meaning to act by the Holy Spirit. We must allow the Holy Spirit to control us so that we can restore such an one in the spirit of meekness, lest we also are tempted. God does not tempt any man with evil. We are tempted when we are given to lust, and when lust is finished it results in death spiritually. God has commanded us as Brethren that if a man is overtaken by a sin or fault, ye that are filled with the Spirit must seek to restore such an one in the spirit of meekness. This mean do not gossip about it but confront the person, considering yourself lest ye also are tempted.Too many people fail to do this and instead of meekness they are conceited and do not restore the person as the scripture commands us to do. Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another. What did Jesus do when the woman caught in adultery was brought to Him? He said ye that are without sin cast the first stone, after He wrote in the sand. Then everyone walked away the oldest to the youngest. Then Jesus said neither do I accuse thee. Go and sin no more. This is the perfect example of meekness and how to restore such an one in the spirit of such. It is my prayer that you will not gossip about some one caught in a fault but go to them and pray for wisdom how to restore such an on in the spirit of meekness. Just like Jesus did, when only He as the perfect man could do. Meekness is not weakness but strength under control of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said I will not leave you as orphans and He gave us the Holy Spirit so that we could have meekness in living the Christian life. The Greek word for meekness is Praotes; for gentleness. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. This is what Paul is saying to restore such an one in the spirit of meekness. Be gentle and consider yourself lest ye also might be tempted. Just as Jesus restored Peter after he denied the Lord three times, Jesus asked Him love thou Me more than these? Peter said yes Lord, then Jesus said feed my lambs. Then again Jesus asked Peter to confirm his love for Jesus two more times to feed His sheep. Let us affirm our love for the Lord Jesus Christ and feed His sheep by restoring such an one in the spirit of meekness.

  • #I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1      Be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

The Greek word for sacrifice is Thusia, meaning to act like a victim. Paul is using legal terminology for us by begging us, by God's mercies, to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. The Greek word for reasonable is Logikos, meaning rational or Logical. Many lawyers use this term in a courtroom to persuade the jury of the logical set of events to present a preponderance of the evidence to get a just verdict. It is therefore logical that we present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, as the Lord Jesus has done for us by dying on the cross for our sins. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. This is the modis operadi how to live the Christian life. Be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, is what He demands of us, and not to be narcissistic in any of our dealings. We must be humble and sincere, presenting Christ to every man in meekness, not trying to make a reputation for ourselves. Just as the Lord Jesus Christ did not make a reputation for Himself but humbled Himself in equality with God and became a man so that He could taste death for all men on the cross. Now we too must humble ourselves and die to self daily as a logical sacrifice unto God. When we do this, the Lord Jesus Christ is exalted and glorified. We do this by the mercies of God, who has bestowed grace upon us by the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can do these things. So gladly present your bodies and be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God every day, and thank God that He has given us the power to do this when He sent us the comforter, the Paraclete, to come beside us and live within us. It is my prayer that you have been inspired and will, from this day forward, be an example unto the brothers and sisters to be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

  • #But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13     Asleep in Jesus

The Greek word for ignorant is Agnoeo, meaning not to know through lack of information or intelligence. Paul has been speaking of the miracle of sleep in death and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. Asleep in Jesus is the most wonderful thing that will happen to us when we die, it will be like going to bed at night we have our prayers Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to Keep and if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. It will be as when Jesus was told Lazarus was sick and He waited four days, and Lazarus died, then Jesus said I must go and wake him. Then Thomas said, Lord, he that sleeps doeth well, Then Jesus said he is dead. Jesus wanted us to know that death is like sleep, and one day the Lord will come again in the resurrection to raise us from our sleep. Jesus cried out Lazarus, come forth, and Lazarus came forth from the grave. Then Jesus said Loose him and let him go. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arcangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first: There is the order of the resurrection, those who are Asleep in Jesus will be the first to see Jesus in the resurrection, and all those who are alive and remain shall be changed in a moment, and caught up into the clouds to forever be with the Lord. We call this the Rapture of the Church, and it simply means to be caught up. Jesus had to call Lazarus by His name, because had He said "Come up Hither," then all in the grave would have risen from the dead. So whether we are Asleep in Jesus or alive when He comes again, we will all have our glorified bodies to meet the Lord in the clouds. Notice that in the first resurrection, Jesus does not come to the earth; He steps out of the clouds. It will be as when Jesus ascended into heaven, the angels said ye men of Gallilee, why stand ye gazing, for this same Jesus shall so come in like manner. Therefore, let us not sorrow as others who have no hope. Whether we sleep or awake, we will all be united again with the Lord Jesus Christ, so let us comfort one another with these words.

  • #Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; the rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4 Jesus is our Great Shepherd

The Hebrew word for walk is Yalak, meaning to carry away. Jesus is our Great Shepherd, and He carries us away through the valley of the shadow of death. The Hebrew word for fear is Yare, to frighten or be afraid. We no longer have to be frightened of death, for Jesus has defeated the last enemy that we all have, which is death on the cross. When He said it is finished, He completed the work of redemption. Paul said O death, where is thy sting, grave where is thy victory? For the sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law, but thanks be unto God who gives us the victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So Jesus said I am with you and will never leave you until the end of the Age. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Jesus is the rod and our staff to comfort us when we are ready to die. Thou preparest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Jesus is our Great Shepherd, and He is with us when we transition from earth to heaven, and His goodness and mercy shall be with us all the days of our lives. The Hebrew word for comfort is Nacham; for to sigh, i.e., breathe strongly. We take a big sigh of relief when Jesus walks with us in the valley of the shadow of death. He told us Let not your hearts be troubled, for ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions, and if it were not so, I would have told you. I will go to prepare a place for you where I am, and Ye shall be also. What comforting words those are to us when we pass from death to life. May the Lord comfort you today, and do not be sorry over your loved one who has just transitioned to heaven. Know that into Thy hands Jesus committs our spirit. May we sing the song When We All Get to Heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be, when we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord and Savior, I pray that you will call upon the Lord to save you. Then He will save unto the uttermost all those who call upon Him.

  • #We are confident, I say and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8

The Greek word for absent is Eldemeo; for to emigrate, vacate from a compond. The Greek word for present is Endemeo; for to be in one's own country, i.e. home. So it is to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord is to emigrate from this world and to be in one's own country with the Lord in heaven. Now He that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore, we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith and not by sight. Wherefore we labor, that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him. For we must all appear before the judgment Seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in the body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Kowing this therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God and I trust also are manifest in your consciences. In this we mourn desiring to be clothed with our heavenly body. The Greek word for body is Soma for a corpse. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with the shout, the voice of the arc-angel, and the trumpet of God, and the dead shall be raised first, then  all those who remain shall be changed in a moment and caught up into the clouds to forever be with the Lord. For in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming. So let us be ye stedfast unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord so that your labor shall not be in vain. And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased Him, and to every seed his own body. We will know our loved ones in heaven, and they will know us as we are known. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption; It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. As we have borne the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. So comfort one another with these words, for when Christ shall appear we shall be like Him, fasioned like unto His glorious body.

  • #For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Matthew 22:30

The Greek word for resurrection is Anastasis, which means standing up again, a recovery or moral recovery of spiritual truth, or being raised to life again, to rise from the dead. A woman had seven husbands, and they all died, so the Pharisees were tempting Jesus with the question of whose wife she would be in the resurrection. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read, that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? And God of Abraham. God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at His doctrine. There are two resurrections: the first resurrection of the just, where all those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior will be raised from the dead and given their glorified bodies. We will be like the angels and neither marry nor be given in marriage. So enjoy your marriage now, for in heaven you will never be married or given in marriage. The second resurrection is of the damned, that failed to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. The books will be opened, and all those whose names are not found in the Lamb's Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death. Thank God that in the kingdom of God they will marry and be given in marriage because mortals will go into the kingdom, and have children. So if you wonder what will happen to them when the Millennium is up? The devil will be loosed from the bottomless pit, and deceive the nations again, and God will cause fire to come down from the earth, and God will make a new heaven and a new earth. The devil will be cast into the Lake of Fire, never to deceive them again. And Jesus shall reign forever in the Kingdom, and we will be as the angels.

  • #So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed My lambs. John 21:15   Feed the Children of the world.

The Greek word for Lambs is Arnion; for a Lambkin, which is a little lamb, is used of Christ, innocently suffering and dying to expiate the sins of men. He saith to him the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith feed My sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me? Peter was grieved because He said unto him the third time, Lovest thou Me? And he said unto Him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. Peter answered with Phileo, to be a friend. i.e., to have affection for denoting personal attachment, as a matter of sentiment or feeling. Jesus wanted Peter to answer with Agape, which is unconditional love. Peter had denied the Lord three times, so Jesus had to affirm Peter's love three times, and Peter passed the test. We must feed the children of the world, for Jesus saith Suffer the little children to come unto Me, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven. Then we must feed the teenage children, for the scripture says to train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old he will not depart. Finally, we must feed the seniors, Jesus saith I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, for they hear My voice and a stranger's voice they will not hear. Feeding sheep is the most difficult thing to do, for sheep are dumb animals, and the shepherd has to use the rod to keep them in line. That is why Jesus said I am the good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. Whom I love, I chasten, and buy gold tried in the fire. Thank God that we often fail in feeding sheep, but remember who is our Shepherd that is feeding us, and He will never leave us, or forsake us, He will be with us until the end of the Age.
