Welcome to Ning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold is as pictures of silver.(Prov.25:11) It is so important to speak the right words to people at the right time to produce the right results. When you think of apples of gold in pictures of silver, then you are thinking of wealth and excellence. When we speak wisdom into the lives of others we are making them wealthy. Therefore we must seek God for He is the source of all wisdom and He will give us just the right words needed at the right time.

  • #And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God, and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper. 2 Chronicles 26:5  True prosperity comes from seeking the Lord God.

The Hebrew word for prosper is Tsalach, meaning to push forward in various senses. King Uzziah sought the Lord, and Jehovah God caused him to prosper and push forward in all that he did. When Uzziah was sixteen years old, he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was also Jecoliah of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of Jehovah God, according to all that his father Amziah did. We are about to celebrate Father's Day, and King Uzziah was a good leader for all of us men to follow. True prosperity comes from seeking the Lord God, and that is what Uzziah did even at the age of sixteen. The Bible tells us that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is an abomination to the Lord. We need to pray for our Fathers to be like Uzziah, who sought the Lord all the days of his life. And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines. And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims. And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah, and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly. True prosperity comes from seeking the Lord God, as Uzziah did, and he was strengthened exceedingly by the Lord. This is the prosperity that we want for our families, and we as fathers must seek the Lord God with our whole hearts all the days of our lives. We must raise our children in the commands of the Lord and pray for them every day. When we do this, we will see them push forward in the Lord in their lives. When the righteous rule, the people prosper, but sin is a reproach to the people when the wicked are in authority. So if you want success in your life, then True prosperity comes from seeking the Lord God. Do that by reading the word of God every day and meditating on His precepts. If the Lord had not been on our side, our enemies would have overcome us. Yet we see how the enemies of Uzziah gave gifts to him. When a man's ways please the Lord, then even his enemies will be at peace with him. This is what we want as fathers for our families. Be at peace with all men and follow after holiness, for without holiness, no man will see the Lord. True prosperity comes from seeking the Lord God, so do it and you and your families will be prosperous.

  • #Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 1 Corinthians 7: Celibacy is a gift

The Greek word for good is Kalos, meaning virtuous. Paul has the gift of celibacy, and he knows that celibacy is a gift, so he says that it is virtuous of him not to have carnal copulation with a woman who is not his wife. The Corinthian church had a lot of lasciviousness, and Paul taught them that it is better to marry than to burn with lust. This command can be kept by a man with Celibacy as his gift. Not every man has this gift. Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled. So if you are burning with lust toward a woman, then it is better to marry and live in holy matrimony. Paul is the only apostle who did not marry, as all the others had wives. So we can see why the Holy Spirit used him to expound on this passage of scripture. The Greek word for touch is Haptomai, meaning to attach oneself to. Touching in marriage is proper, and rendering due benevolence is commanded in conjugal relations between spouses. No touching a woman improperly to seduce her is prohibited. This is a problem when massaging a woman. My wife always preferred women to massage her, and that was a proper thing to do. However, a man can massage a woman, as long as he is virtuous and has no carnal copulation with her. Not all men can do this, so best for husbands to massage their wives, and wives to massage their husbands. Celibacy is a gift, and if you have it, it is a blessing, and you can serve the Lord better than a married man can, who must attend to the desires of his wife. This is why Paul was greatly used of the Lord because he had the gift of celibacy. Paul wrote 14 of the books of the New Testament, and this is why he could say it is good for a man not to touch a woman, because he did not burn with lust for her. Because of the stresses of the present day, Celibacy is a gift worth having. However, if you do not have celibacy as a gift, and burn with lust, then pray for a wife. He that finds a good wife has favor with God.

  • #And Joshua said unto Achan, My son, give I pray thee, glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession unto Him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide it not from me. Joshua 7:14   Beware of Covetousness

The Hebrew word for Achan is Akan, meaning troublesome. So is everyone who is to beware of covetousness. So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken. And he brought the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zarhites man by man; and Zabdi was taken; And he brought his household man by man, and Achan, the son of Carmi; to son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken. And Achan answered Joshua, and said Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus have I done. When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fiftyshekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and behold, they are hidden in the earth amid my tent, and the silver under it. So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent, and behold it was hidden, and the silver under it. Beware of Covetousness, for a man's life does not consist of the things that he has. Because of his covetousness, Achan caused evil to come upon Israel and all his household. The sin of covetousness is so secret until it manifests in the heart. May the Lord purge the sin of covetousness from our hearts and lives. How many homes are divided today because of covetousness? Repent of this silent and secret sin before it destroys your family. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto thee.

  • #Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

The Greek word for world is Kosmos, meaning orderly arrangement, i.e., decoration and the inhabitants. The apostle John is telling us not to love the wicked system in which this world is arranged. The whole world lies in the hands of the wicked, the devil. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Father, but of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. John is not talking about ecology, but the economy of making money, and the love of money is the root of all evil. Many have become shipwrecked because they loved this worldly system. Whoever loves the world, the love of the Father does not abide in him. It is not a sin to be rich, but no man can serve God and mamon, for he will love the one, and despise the other. Yes, the scripture tells us that if riches increase, we must not set our eyes upon them.

  • #It would be better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Luke 17:2  Do not offend the little children of this world.

The Greek word for millstone is Mulos, which means a mill (by implication), a grinder, through the idea of hardship. I enjoyed FaceTime with my grandchildren yesterday, and they are so beautiful and loving to me. I pray for them every day and plead the blood of Jesus for them. Jesus is teaching His disciples how to forgive. Then said He unto the disciples, it is impossible but that offenses will come; but woe unto him, through whom they come! Take heed to yourselves: if thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying I repent; thou shalt forgive him. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. We need faith to forgive. We must have childlike faith to forgive our brothers and sisters. Jesus warns Beware of offenses, for they will come, but Do not offend the little children of this world, for of such is the kingdom of God. We must learn to forgive just like the little children forgive. I remember being told by my parents I would get a Pogo stick for Christmas, but I never did get it. I forgave them because they had six children to provide for. But we must be careful. Do not offend the little children of this world. We do this by loving them and teaching them the Word of God. The scripture says to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart. Jesus told us to rebuke our brother if he sins against us seven times a day, and if he repents, to forgive him seven times. Seven is the number for completion. Just as Jesus completely forgives us when we repent of our sins, we must also completely forgive our brother when he repents. This is how children forgive us, love us, and have faith in us as parents. So we must not offend the little children of this world, for they teach us how to love our Heavenly Father. Pray for your children, and love them even when they become prodigals, and just know that your prayers will bring them back to the Heavenly Father when they get older. Then kiss them and put a ring on their finger for love and forgiveness.

  • #Greater love hath no man than this, that a man layeth down his life for his friends. John 15:13 Happy Memorial Day to all the fallen

We thank God for all our military members and all those who sacrificed for this country. Salute a veteran today and bless them. The Greek word for love is Agape, for affection or benevolence, and a love feast. Jesus said, If ye keep my commandments ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandment, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants, for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth; but I have called you friends. Jesus came down from heaven to do the will of the Father, which was to lay down His life for His friends, and that is all of us who have placed our faith in Him. Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He may give it to you. This is how we show our love for the Lord Jesus Christ when we lay down our lives for our friends, just as Jesus laid down His life for us on the cross. Now we are accepted in the Beloved, and have been given the Holy Spirit who produces the fruits such as love, joy, peace, patience, meekness, faithfulness, and self-control; against such there is no law. So, as you celebrate this Memorial Day, take time and show love to the men and women who serve this country and put their lives on the line every day for us. Pray that the Lord will protect them and bring them home to their families.

  • #Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Amos 3:3   Husbands and wives must agree to walk together.

The Hebrew word for agreed is Yaad, meaning to fix upon and to meet or to summon or to direct a certain quarter. Amos asked the greatest question in marriage: Can two walk together, except they be agreed? The answer is no, they must agree before they can walk together. Too many get married who are not equally yoked together, and all they do is quarrel all the time. It is very important to marry someone who is of the same faith, so that you can agree on worship. Will a lion roar in the forest when he hath no prey? Will a young lion cry out of his den, if he has taken nothing? No, you see, there has to be a purpose and agreement in nature as well. Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? No, we must avoid the pitfalls of life to be successful in our marriages. Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? No, if there is no agreement in marriage, then you must be afraid that you are headed for the divorce courts. Shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it? Yes, there will be evil in a marriage in the city when couples do not agree on who to marry. Jehovah God demands that we worship only Him, and we do this when we agree to worship the true and only God. So it is in marriage that you must agree to worship only the Lord and have no other gods besides Him. It is my prayer that couples will pray about whom to marry so that they can come to an agreement and reach a consensus in their marriage. Therefore, husbands and wives must agree to walk together.

  • #But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. Jonah 1:3

The Hebrew word for presence is Paniym, which means face or countenance. Jonah is trying to run from the face of the Lord Jehovah. The scripture tells us that if we make our bed in hell, God is there. His face is upon the waters as Elohim. He created the world in six days, and Jonah is about to find out that there is nowhere to run from God. But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah had gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? Arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not. Jonah has made the worst decision he could ever make to try to flee from the face of God, and now has fallen asleep. How many of us get out of the will of God and fall asleep?  It is high time to wake from sleep. Jonah will be thrown overboard into the ocean and swallowed by a great fish. Jonah had time to pray unto God, Salvation is only of the Lord. So the Lord heard his prayer, and caused the great fish to vomit Jonah up, and He made that journey into Nineveh in one day and preached that great sermon. Yet in forty days, Ninevah shall be overthrown.  This is a great lesson for us to get busy doing the work of the Lord and winning souls to the Lord Jesus Christ while there is time.

  • #For in that He died, He died unto sin once; but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Romans 6:10 Jesus died for sin once and lives to God

The Greek word for liveth is Zao, meaning to live. Jesus died on the cross once for our sins, and He lives unto God, interceding for us at the right hand of God. When He comes again, He will resurrect all those sleeping in the grave who trusted in Him. Likewise, reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; but yield yourselves unto God, those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. The Greek word for died, apothnesko, meaning to die off or to be slain. Shall grace abound? No, we are crucified with Christ and therefore no longer live, for this life we live in the flesh is by the power of the Holy Spirit. So make no provisions for the flesh but live by the Spirit.

  • #Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence; and likewise also the wife unto the husband.  1 Corinthians 7:3 Render your due

The Greek word for benevolence is Eunoia, for kindness and marital duty, and goodwill. Husbands and wives must render unto their due in the marriage. Why is benevolence so hard to do in marriage? Truly, this is the cause for much consternation in marriage. The wife hath not power of her own body but the husband; likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. This is the sticking point in marriage: being able to submit to one another in the fear of the Lord. When this is done, goodwill can be established in the marriage. Husbands are told to love their wives as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for her. The wife must respect the husband and call him lord, as Sarah called Abraham. This is the ultimate respect in marriage, and rendering due benevolence can be accomplished when all these things are happening. Paul is speaking this by permission, and not of commandment. So why does Paul speak this, since nowhere in the scriptures does it tell us that he was married? Paul is speaking accordingly to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must treat this as inspired by God. How can a spouse render due benevolence if he is separated from his wife? This is problematic, and there must be reconciliation to take place for this to happen. Only time separation is acceptable when the spouses are fasting and praying to God. This should only be done for a season, and not a lifetime. If the spouse is being abandoned in the marriage, then divorce must be filed. There are two grounds for divorce: Infidelity and abandonment for more than one year. Sadly, as I write, I have been abandoned for more than eight years, and my wife does not want to reconcile. So I am praying to God for direction as to what to do in the marriage, cause God is not pleased with this, and my prayers are being hindered because of this. For 30 yrs. We were able to render due benevolence in the marriage, but then my wife kept putting me in the mental hospital, which led to this period of separation. I pray that other couples can learn from our situation and seek to avoid it, cause God hates divorce. I hate divorce too, and am praying that my wife will repent of her contemptibility. We have two children and two grandchildren, and they are hurt the most in the divorce. May the Lord move in a mighty way is my prayer.
